Everything worked well, we thought the job was done, until 1 month later, the disposal suddenly dropped off the bottom of the sink and my kitchen flooded. The disposal did not seem to be broken, only poor installation. I called them and they agreed to come fix it. Luckily, they came in about 2 hours and fixed it.
Description of Work: Santhoff replaced a burned out garbage disposal.

+ 0 moreIt went well overall, though Santhoff's prices are high. I had purchased contemporary vessel sinks and faucets on an on-line auction but they came with no installation instructions plus some of the parts were missing or damaged. I had a hard time finding a plumber who would even help with this project. James was extremely professional, patient and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain issues and made an extra trip to obtain a missing part. He cut holes in new laminate counter-tops when the counter-top installers couldn't do the job and made sure I was happy with the placement. When there was a scheduling issue, his father called to explain and followed up promptly with a new appointment date. I did not use their services for a basic kitchen sink and disposal installation, as the bid came back at more than twice the price of another plumber. But it was worth the price for the vessel sink and faucet installs-James knew what we was doing and established my trust in that.
Description of Work: I had two vessel sinks and custom faucets installed in new bath counter-tops, plus a problem with water pressure and new shower head addressed.

+ 2 moreGREAT! Two young men were courteous and professional, showed up on time, performed work within estimated costs. Worked the whole time they were here. Protected interior floors. They had all the parts needed on their truck. I had decided to have all the plumbing in the attic checked before having new insulation blown in and the $100 it cost me to have the lines checked was well worth it in peace of mind. I will definitely call Santhoff again when I need plumbing done.
Description of Work: Installed new gas line from water heater to new dryer location, extended dryer vent, replaced existing dryer vent line, installed new hot and cold hose bibs at washer, removed old saddle valve, cleaned 2" washer drain from roof with sink machine approx 30 ft and tested drainage, investigated and uncovered all horizontal galvanized piping in attic to find no pinhole leaks or suspicious spots in piping at this time.

+ -1 moreWe came home after being out-of-town for 5 days to discover the flex water line feeding into the water heater had continuously leaked while we were gone. Floor and nearby welcome mat were wet. I called Santhoff immediately. They had a crew in the area. They replaced the flex water line feeding into the hot water heater. Repair person said sometimes the seal inside the flex line is bad. The problem was fixed within 30 minutes of discovering it. This was a warranted repair from a hot water heater installed in April 2006; therefore the cost was $0.

+ -1 moreTerrible problems with scheduling and getting their stories straight.Did not tell me charge for estimate.Later was told they would deduct from price of job.They did not;called to request a refund,was told they would mail it to me.Couple of times was told only way to ensure a specific appointment was to take "first call".Never came at "first call" or called to let me know there were delays.Was required to use their tile person to get five year warranty on shower pan.Tile person's workers did decent job on inside of stall-outside unsightly. Scott Arnold the tile man redid job himself-even worse.In phone conversation,Santhoff yelled and screamed that I was giving tile man hard time (because I insisted he fix hole he put in wall).Had to appease him w/reminder plumbing job was OK.And no, I will NOT get my estimate refund.If I wanted it back,I "should have signed up for the job at the time the estimate was given".
Description of Work: Shower pan installed. James was courteous and professional-cleaned up after himself. Very satisfied with work. His father Joseph Santhoff, very friendly, initially, was concerned that he might lose a customer over scheduling and delays and also because of tile man he picked to do tile job. Came out to look at tile work and offered to buy me a shower door to compensate for the problems. Admitted he never met tile man but came highly recommended. After being very friendly and reassuring (I was actually thinking of going back to his company), Santhoff called to say I was worse customer he's ever had, called me "expletive" customer, claimed has done excellent work for 30 years. I had to remind him I had no problem with his work and had actually planned to have his son install new water heater. Because he grossly exaggerated my complaints, had to tell him all over again that plumbing and inside of shower stall OK, problems were with tile work on threshold & door frame and hole in sheetrock.

+ -1 moreThe guys came in and looked at it, turned off the water at the main line, did not even attempt to fix the leak, and handed me an $1800 estimate. They told me I needed a new hot water heater and gas line, a gas valve, and a vent replacing as well. The water heater was an '05 model and the problem was fixed by another company for $200.
Description of Work: I called them when I had water shooting out all over the ceiling coming from a pinhole leak in the cold water line of the water heater.
