Gerald and his son were great. Not only was the work top notch, he also did his best to save us money. You cannot beat that combination. Very efficient, punctual, and just nice folks. Highly recommend.

Gerald is utterly amazing! This guy definitely knows what he is doing. Been in business 20+ years. The whole that was the size of a football is no longer in my wall. Even though the paint is still drying, it matches the wall perfectly.

Gerald, did a very nice job on some sheetrock repair in my home, was knowledgeable on the best way to repair water damage sheetrock. Did an excellent job of matching texture on ceiling and wall. He and his assistant were professional, courteous and cleaned up after completion of job. Would definitely use his services again.

We called Mr. Gary in the morning, and he answered the phone himself. He asked enough pertinent questions to be able to give an estimate over the phone. He arranged a time to come, and arrived exactly on time. The repairs were done as fast as possible, and he took pains not to make or leave a mess. As he does sheetrock repair without any sanding the usual mess caused by sanding was non-existent. He and his assistant matched the texture of the existing sheetrock exactly, and even did a bit more than he planned to do because he noticed another small place that needed repair. He did all of this for the amount he had estimated. We are extremely pleased with his work, and would not hesitate to use him again nor to recommend him to friends.

I called Gerald about texturing a new living room ceiling and he came out the next day to give me a quote. His bid was so reasonable that I had him bid on additional work to repair water damaged ceiling and trim work in the kitchen. The next morning he arrived with his son to start the work. The first day was spent on the kitchen ceiling repairs and trim, and the texturing was done the second day. The living room texture is not an exact match with strips of existing ceiling along 2 walls, but is so close once it has been painted it is hard to tell a difference. The kitchen ceiling texture is a dead-on match with the existing ceiling.

It went fine - no drama, no mistakes, everything looks good. Will be easy to paint over his repairs/texturing (which matches exactly the existing texturing). It was a relief - I am always hesitant to try new contractors - glad this fellow worked out.

I have an older home and wanted two bedrooms resheetrocked , taped and floated and the ceiling texture changed. He basically said it was not necessary and how it would be so expensive and it was not necessary blah blah blah. All I wanted was an estimate in writing stating what he would charge for the job I wanted done. I even showed him an area that I wanted it to match........that I have already had done. Unprofessional in my opinion. I will go with the guy that gave me an estimate in writing with the cost of the job broken down by labor and supplies. I think that is what an estimate should be. And, for his benefit, he wasn't off that much in price but was in my opinion unprofessional. What this guy does not understand is that I am the home owner and I wanted the work done. I don't want to be told that what I am doing is unnecessary or stupid. He did not say what he thought the solution was.....just criticised my decisions. You know, everyone has different wants and needs and I guess he just doesn't respect other people or their decisions. He doesn't know the history of this house and I do. I told him the price was too high because I knew I was not going to hire him....it was to end the process. As you can see I spent about the same that he quoted me. Actually, I spent a lot more than what I listed above because other work was added. If he is good at what he does, it is sad because that is what I wanted......a good sheetrock/tape and float guy. The previous worker was a family friend and he too thought he was going to dictate what was done in my home. If you come into my home treat me and mine and my belongings with the same respect you would want in your home.

Went well - texturing was done over wallpaper. Worked in between other contractors who were in the house.

I have used Gerald 5 years ago through Angie's list. He textured the kitchen and fixed 2 holes in the kitchen ceiling due to water leaks/ breakage, I found Gerald to be prompt, reasonably priced and does a excellent job. I found Gerald through Angie's list 5 years ago. Now 5 years later the water pipes sprung more leaks, in the ceiling in the master bedroom and master bathroom. The ceiling looked like swiss cheese 6 holes in the master bedroom and 2 in our bathroom of this 25 year old Custom Home. They say Mexican pipe or the drought whatever, we had big problems. I tried to find Gerald to repair and couldn't find his number. Originally, when I found his number in Angie's list. I interviewed all of Angie's drywall repair contractors, This repair I didn't want to intervew or use anyone else if possible! I called up Angie's list and started a new subscription just to find Gerald, hopping that he would still be listed. I told the representative at Angie's list, she said that she would help to find him. That evening she forwarded a email, Gerald contact info. Thanks, you Angie's list! For any drywall repair do not hesitate call Gerald. Since Gerald came out, I had him texture 3 bathrooms covering up additional old wallpaper. He showed up exactly at 9:00am both days, we have one more day left, most of the work has been completed. I have zero worry about the work, the kitchen looks as good today as it did 5 years ago. I hope not to call anytime soon, however our mexican galvanized pipes will surly break again. And, I will keep his number this time. Good job Gerald, hope to see you sometime but not real soon. John

It was just great. He was friendly and was able to get to us quickly. It was cost-effective.

However, in speaking to him on the phone I was surprised to learn that he charges a $10 estimate charge. I have never been charged a dime for estimates in the past. He said this was to cover his fuel costs although both he and I live in Sugar Land. I found this to be offputting and decided to move on to another contractor.

Work spanned several days, giving time for drying and second coats. Very logical progression.

Just okay. Gary arrived on time and gave me a price. I thought the price was a little steep, considering that I supplied the sheetrock and some of the patching had already been done. I didn't object, because I needed the work done right away. Gary spent much of his time talking about his personal life.I mentioned to him that I had gotten his name from Angie's list. At one point during our conversation, Gary said to me that Angie's list members seemed more 'well to do' than his other customers, therefore he usually charged them more. Gary was in my home a litle over 2 hours. I feel the price he charged was not only too much, but the quality of work he did was just average.

They did a perfect job. We can barely tell that any work was done. He is a very friendly and sociable guy. We really liked him. He was great. We tipped him on top of what we paid for the repair.

Just fine. He was courteous and did exactly what he said he'd do in the time he said he'd do it in. No complaints here! I would hire him again.

The experience was excellent. He was on time and he did everything really well. I would use him again in the future if I need to and definitely recommend him to others.

I did not use his services. He spent the first 20 minutes at my house telling me too much information about his private life. I didn't invite any of that discussion and was very uncomfortable. I finally told him I had another appointment and asked him to look at the damaged drywall and leave. He had been so professional on the phone that I was totally shocked at his unprofessional demeanor in my house.

He did a very good job. Gary was very friendly and professional.

I saw the praise about Gerald in this month's magazine (6/2007) and gave him a call. He told me over the phone he charges $20 for a quote, which is applied to the price, if he does the work. I agreed and he came out the following Monday. As I showed him the work I needed, he talked me through suggestions he had on how to proceed. I had been doing much of the work myself and Gerald even suggested I was close enough to not need to hire him for those areas - as I was *so* close to finishing, so I left the harder (ceilings) and fussier (entry area) jobs for him.

FABULOUS! Gerald is a true professional and drywall master! He matched the ceiling texture in my kitchen above my cook-top seamlessly to the existing texture, and it is perfect. He also was able to match the wall texture in two connecting bathrooms which previously had wallpaper, and no one would even know there was once wallpaper on those walls. I am so pleased with his work, his outgoing personality, reliability (which is so important to me dealing with contractors), punctuality, and attention to detail. Very kind gentleman, and so easy to work with.

GERALD WAS ON TIME, WAS VERY POLITE AND PERSONABLE. HE HAS GOOD EXPERIENCE, AND WHEN HE FINISHED I COULDN'T TELL THAT A HOLE HAD BEEN THERE IN THE CEILING. HE CLEANS UP THE AREA AFTER HE FINISHES.
