Picasso House Painting & Faux Finishing

Bill contracted to remove wall paper in the kitchen, and paint the interior of our house. We were going to paint all off white. He suggested a warm neutral color and an accent color in the major rooms and prepared samples of these.. These suggestions were excellent. Removal of the kitchen wall paper turned out to be undoable. Bill put mesh over the wallpaper and plastered all the walls and the base boards which were also papered. He suggested applying a faux finish on the new kitchen wall and made a sample for us and we did it. This took 3-4 days. Bill never mentioned an increase over the original contract price. My wife and I discussed all that he had done and subsequently discussed an increase with him. His suggested increase was equitable. He also threw in some extras which were not part of the contract. All of his work was top notch and the house was spotless every day when he left. Because of a family event we asked Bill to take a one week break during the project.;this didn't faze him at all. Bill also showed up promptly every day. We are very happy with the way our house looks. My wife and I enjoy looking at our house every day. All in all, Picasso Painting does excellent work, is a good value, and very pleasant to work with, which is more than I can say for some others that we have hired. I heartily recommend Picasso Painting Faux Finishing & Venetian Plaster.

Bill is very professional, and fun to work with. He worked with my wife and I to get a very high-end look for the fireplace. He arrived on time and completed the work when he said he would. I could not recommend Picasso Painting more.

Bill was very professional, and his work was excellent. It took 2 days to finish but overall I was pleased with the result. Unfortunately, I just noticed their coupon offer of one hundred dollar gift card to Outback steak house for any job over fifteen hundred dollars. It would have been nice to get the gift card, since the price for the work performed was at a premium and not really competitive with other offers after the fact. I wonder if some of these companies are taking advantage of the Angies List recommendation. Do you have any oversight to see if these people stay realistic in their pricing??

Bill has painted the inside of the house before so it was a no brainer to have him come back and paint the outside. He drove us around to find the right colors to paint. It took awhile for this process but he made it painless. He came early everyday and said and did exactly what he told me he would from start to finish. The old addage that "you get what you pay for", is so very true here. He is amazing. Very good to work with. Come by and see what he did. Incredible. Nothing was left for speculation. His experience in painting really shows. He cleans up everyday...not just at the end. Nothing to worry about folks here. This man is top notch! Any questions?

Bill O'Malia does absolutely amazing work! He's so professional and doesn't leave any messes. He did all the painting and faux work on my first and second floor. My house is brand new, but everything looks so much different than when I moved in. It was all white, and bland. But now my house is the nicest out of all the others, as I live in a complex where everything is the same. I honestly want to live in my bathroom because the walls are so beautiful. He helped me pick out my colors, because when it's your house and you're at Lowe's looking at all the options it can be hard to decide. But, he came in so simply and advised me on what colors would work and wouldn't work. His prices are high, but it's worth every penny and is evident in the quality of work he does. He is outstanding, and I will use him when I need the rest of my home completed. Not only am I going to use him again, but I am going to recommend him to my friends and family members.

Bill painted our kitchen cabinets almost two years ago. I just wanted to thank him and let him know that the finish is holding up beautifully! The cabinets have held up to regular kitchen wear and tear and the finish looks every bit as good as the day he completed the job. There is not a nik or scratch anywhere to be found! I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you Bill!

We've used Bill many times in the past and have always been pleased with his work. It's not a simple painting job that he does, it's a whole process. He's reliable with great customer service and nobody in the West Coast does what he does. A lot of people say they do faux finishes, but Bill's is definitely unique.

He was very prompt and did an excellent job. He is not the least expensive, but his work is of the best quality. He was able to work around our schedule. Our contractor made a mess on our walls, and bill fixed that at no cost to us. I feel that he went above and beyond what we asked him to do. I would recommend him.

We met with Bill a couple of times. He showed us some samples of the colors we were going to use before the project started, and how they would look with the texture and the faux on them. We had in mind what colors we were going to use, but Bill showed us even better colors. As a designer, he showed us which walls were accent walls, and which ones would be good with special texture/faux finishes. He also gave us a written estimate. He worked in one area at a time, so that we could live in our home, and cleaned up each night, and told us which rooms he was going to work on the next day. Since we had birds, he started in that room first, so that they would not be disturbed that much during the painting project. On first day, he worked on the living room accent wall, and all my husband and I could say was "WOW!" That wall had a Spanish texture and a faux finish on it--it was a masterpiece. He truly is talented. As the week progressed, the wallpaper was becoming a challenge, so one of the days, he hired another painter to come in and help with two of the rooms, while he tackled the wallpaper problem; however, he made sure the other painter's work was up to his standards. The rest of the time, it was only Bill doing the work himself. My house went from average to beautiful. I have already hired Bill to do more work for us.

Bill provided an estimate the afternoon I called to inquire. During the walk through, he was upfront about parts of our home that he cannot paint within the scheduled time frame (e.g. doors, door frames, staircase since they all had oil-based paint). He also gave his opinion on the colors we selected which we appreciate (he cared about what our house would look like in the end, not just do the work). He was kind enough to meet us on a Saturday to help us pick a neutral color that would best match our carpet and our tile. On the week they painted our home, Picasso Painting was careful not to put paint on our carpet even though they knew we were replacing it in a couple of weeks (Bill treated our home like his own). Bill also suggested items that we should replac rather than clean (e.g. wall plates, the preivous owners didn't bother to remove them when they painted the walls). He was also kind enough to paint parts of our ceiling that would not go well with the newly painted walls. Overall our experience with Picasso Painting was excellent and we would not hesitate to use them again.

I think he was very professional. He worked within our time constraints. He cleaned up after himself and did a fantastic job. I will defiantly be hiring him back to do more painting. He is also very detail oriented.

Did my due diligence here on Angie's List - called few painters based on reviews. Luckily, first painter came in for an estimate - looked at the work and said - "we don't do faux" and suggested I contact Picasso. So I reached out to Bill, provided some pics of the work I needed to get done and he came right over same afternoon to provide an estimate. Bill was very thorough, explained everything - you can tell Bill is an expert at his trade and takes pride in his work. I felt pretty comfortable with Bill, so after we agreed on the scope of work and pricing - he went right to work. Let me tell you, Bill is a perfectionist and meticulously detailed...and very careful and clean. He even patched up few small things, I didn't ask for...talk about customer service! I was extremely happy with the results and plan to hire Picasso later this year for couple other projects. As a side note - Bill is a fun cat to work with too!

We just bought our first home and i really wanted a faux finish done in the formal living and dining room. We shopped around and we saw Picasso Faux painters showroom in Lake Forest. If you haven't seen Bill's showroom you should definitely make your way down there to take a look at all the beautiful walls. When I had first seen his showroom, I didn't think we would be able to afford him. Our house is definitely not a million dollar home and we definitely could not afford an expensive paint job for just two rooms. Bill was willing to work within our budget though. After he had finished, I felt like i did own a million dollar home. I cannot stop looking at our beautiful walls. All I can say is AWESOME!!! Bill did SUCH a great job with our home. We did the tuscany faux finish with a red and black accent wall. We have received soooo many compliments on it. He showed up on time, was very professional, and was extremely clean while doing his job. He gave us great advice for colors in the rest of our home. Picasso Painting is highly recommended by us.

Bill was fun to work with. He is very clean, and for a painter that was amazing. He covered everything and was concerned about making sure I was happy with the entire project. He was helping me sweep and vacuum too. I can't wait to have him back next month to do some more work in the inside as well as paint the outside.

My phone call was returned promptly. Bill came out and gave me a bid right away. He did the work himself and was very accommodating with my schedule. He did a fantastic job with the prep work and put all the furniture and paintings back in place before he left. It was the best painting job I have ever had and I would definitely use him again.

I had to call four times to get someone to talk to me. Then he didn't want to come to my place to see the kitchen, he wanted me to send pictures. I couldn't send pictures, so he just kept hesitating and eventually I said "If you don't want to do this job, or can't do it, jsut tell me and I will call someone else. His reply was to hang up on me. I don't want to be involved with anyone this rude!

As part of a complete kitchen remodel in my home, I needed to have two holes in the ceiling patched resulting from removed light fixtures. We also had a couple of areas where the old cabinets had been removed that were not covered by the new cabinets that had to be re-textured to match and painted. I also wanted the entire kitchen and dinette area re-painted. Bill O'Malia, the owner, stopped by to give us an estimate and presentation of his work portfolio which I was thoroughly impressed with. He also suggested I stop by his showroom to see examples of his work firsthand, which I did. His suggestion to apply a Spanish style texture over the entire ceiling and walls was perfect for our new kitchen, as was his suggested color palette choices to go with the new cabinets and counter top colors. After the holes were patched and re-textured, I couldn't tell they had been there. The overall impression of the texture method Bill used gives the kitchen an upscale appearance. I couldn't be happier with the final result. Finally, Bill does his work in an extremely neat, clean, and professional manner. In most cases when someone does work in my house, there is always a certain amount of clean up I have to do after the work is complete, but Bill left everything absolutely spotless, and I would know if there was any mess left behind. I am very picky about such things. I will definitely be asking Bill back next year to do more work in other areas of my house.

Bill is an artist. He turned my simple living area into a real show place. I am not very good at choosing colors and he walked me thru what he thought would look good and it did. I love, love, love what he did to my fireplace which separates my living room from my dining area. He fauxed the bottom and then painted the upper area a contrasting color. He texuted my ceiling and walls in my kitchen dining area. He had samples to show what it would look like. I will definatley use him again. You do need patience with him cause he is a busy man but the wait is worth it. He also was very neat and made sure everthing was cleaned up and in place at the end of the day. He even came on Saturday to do some work.

Bill exceeded our expectations by far. His experience in selecting colors was a huge bonus. The painting crew was professional, friendly and very clean. To meet our tight schedule they willingly worked long hours. Bill coaxed us into a faux finish effect in a couple of ceiling areas that raised the outcome from great to OUTSTANDING.
