One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning - Houston

Plumber Joe Stuart arrived exactly as scheduled and did an excellent job. He replaced two faucets that were very difficult to access but the work was done very efficiently and we are delighted with the improvements. Joe has been here previously and has always done excellent work.

These people are absolutely horrible! I had read others on Angie's List talk about how they liked them, I picked them based on that but my year-long experience has been just terrible. They came for the first time in July '05 to do some repairs on the air return, what was quoted as ''a couple of hundred'' ended up costing me $450. I had also agreed to a yearly contract for $350, which was supposed to include 3 visits (winter, spring, summer), each visit a total and complete check up and cleaning of the system. Come fall, I had to chase them down for months before I could get them to return. When they did, they supposedly found a problem and without even asking they start fixing it. Stopped them before they made a $300 repair with no authorization. Come spring, I had to chase them down again. When he finally showed up, he spent more time on the floor playing with my dog than even LOOKING at the a/c, much less cleaning it. I've since found out that was my summer, no more visits!

They were supposed to come out and do an annual check up on the A/C and furnace, but they never called to set an appointment. I figured if they won't bother, than I won't bother either!

Hallmark Heating And Air Conditioning does just what I want them to do. They always come out when they say and check or fix anything that needs be. I do have a contract with them so it doesn't cost me anything for them to come out.

They arrived at the first appointment unprepared to deal with our Bosch dishwasher & spent most of the time unprofessionally criticizing the brand. They pulled out the dishwasher, disconnected the drain hose, & then said that they couldn't repair it & would need to order a part. They also broke the air outlet in the process of disassembly. They left & said that they would order the part & reschedule. Three weeks later we called to complain that we had not heard from them & still did not have our dishwasher repaired. They called back to say that the part had arrived a week earlier & that the supervisor would be out in several days with a technician. The technician arrived alone & without all the parts he needed to complete the job. He had to leave to get some additional hose. In putting the dishwasher back into its cutout, he gouged a piece of the wood cabinet & just shrugged. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience & we will not use them again.

David and his helper were on time and generally polite. They did try to sell us additional services/parts which we did not feel needed. At this visit we advised them that we had a dishwater hose leaking and asked if this was something that they could handle, they said yes and we scheduled a subsequent service appointment with them.

Both did a fine job. Jarrell is a very responsive company, and will come out quickly.

Hallmark Air Conditioning Routine has replaced our air conditioning and furnace units. They also perform maintenance. We have used Hallmark Air Conditioning for over 20 years. They are very reliable and trustworthy.

I feel that they are very reliable, and courteous people. They have a program where they call you twice a year to do checks on furnaces, and air condition units. They are very knowledgeable, and they sell quality units. They are a reliable company.

Jarrell Plumbing Company returned my call promptly and came by to give an estimate. Their prices were a little high, but they explained how they could unclog the pipe so the toilet would stop over flowing. The repair was scheduled as soon as possible, and the plumber showed up on time. He cleared the line and the toilet was flushing just fine. He did a good job and cleaned up any mess.

They came out to unclog the plumbing in my air conditioner drain tube. I have used the company numerous times in the past. I was surprised that they only charged for the service call and not all the extra work done.

The water heater was leaking, the faucet was leaking, the tub fixtures were not working properly and the toilet needed to be fixed so we called Jarrell Plumbing to do the work. I was very pleased with their work. They fixed everything for me and even recommended a water sensor alarm for the water heater to alert us if we have a leak again. The plumber did a great job. He was very efficient, punctual and professional in getting everything fixed and replaced for us.

We did some major plumbing work in the bathroom water & sewer systems, & called Jarrell Plumbing to do the plumbing work. Jarrell came & put in all new faucets & toilets. We wanted the sewer system re-routed for better water flow, & he did everything we asked. However, it wasn t working properly. We've called Jarrell Plumbing back twice now & the toilet still isn t running properly.

I THINK THEY WERE VERY PUSHY ABOUT THEIR SERVICES. I THINK THEY WERE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THEY SMELLED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE. I THINK HE'S WAY OVER-PRICED AND OVER-DRAMATIZED THE SITUATION. THEY WERE ALSO PUSHY ABOUT AN ELECTRICAL COMPANY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER AND THEIR WARRANTY WHICH YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR SEPARATELY. THEY ARE OUT TO GAUGE YOU WITH THE PRICE AND SELL YOU SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T NEED. THEN THEY CHARGE YOU $69 TO TELL YOU THAT. WOULD NOT USE THEM.

I CHOSE JARRELL BECAUSE OF ANGIE'S LIST & AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. IT MAKES ME WONDER WHETHER THE POSITIVE REPORTS ARE LEGIT. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, ON SCHEDULING THEY NO-SHOWED THE FIRST TIME OUT, AFTER I HAD WASTED 1 1/2 HOURS OF A WORK DAY FOR ME. IT TOOK THREE TRIES TO GET A RE-SCHEDULE AT A TIME CONVENIENT FOR ME. THEN THEY FAILED TO SHOW UP ON TIME FOR THAT APPOINTMENT, & GAVE EXCUSES THAT WERE INCONSISTENT WITH WHAT THE DISPATCHERS SAID (SOMEONE WAS LYING). WHEN THE PLUMBER FINALLY GOT THERE, HE WAS COMPLETELY UNPREPARED TO SHOW ANY OPTIONS, & COULD ONLY GIVE AN ESTIMATE ON INSTALLATION- BASED ON A FLAT FEE SCHEDULE. HE WANTED ME TO SIGN SAYING THE WORK WAS DONE & I WOULD PAY THE AMOUNT (OVER $900), BUT SAID THAT THE LANGUAGE "DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING, JUST THAT I CAME OUT." JARRELL DID WAIVE THE $69 SERVICE CHARGE TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE WHICH, BASED ON OTHER POSTINGS HERE, THEY USUALLY INSIST UPON.

I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE PROFESSIONALISM AND COMPETENT WORKMANSHIP DURING THIS PROJECT. I FEEL THE PRICE IS FAIR FOR THE WORK PERFORMED.

THEY HAVE GIVEN ME GOOD SERVICE SINCE 1962.

THE PLUMBERS WERE HELPFUL AND EDUCATED HELPFUL ON PRODUCTS TO KEEP MY DRAINS UNCLOGGED. THEY WERE POLITE AND COURTEOUS.

I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN, EXCEPT FOR THE PRICE. I ALSO HAD A DISPOSAL I THOUGHT NEEDED REPLACED BUT WHEN HE QUOTED ME $88 FOR THE AERATOR, I DECIDED NOT TO ASK HIM FOR A QUOTE FOR THE DISPOSAL.

I GOT HALLMARK'S NAME FROM A FRIEND WHO USED THEM AND WAS VERY SATISFIED. I CALLED THEM AFTER HAVING 2 UNSUCCESSFUL SERVICE CALLS FROM ANOTHER COMPANY (INSTALLED MY SYSTEM SOME 9 YEARS AGO) HALLMARK'S TECHNICIAN WAS ON TIME, COURTEOUS AND PROFESSION. I READ OTHER ANGIE'S CUSTOMER EXPERIENCES WITH HALLMARK AND THEIR PRACTICE OF SELLING TO A MAINTENANCE CONTRACT, AND I WAS PREPARED FOR THE PITCH. AFTER FIXING MY IMMEDIATE THERMOSTAT PROBLEM, THE TECH PROCEEDED TO MY OUTSIDE COMPRESSOR WHERE HE REMOVED THE ACCESS PANEL AND CLEANED OUT THE TRASH AND PINE NEEDLES, CHECKED BOTH COOLANT LINES FOR PROPER PRESSURES. HE THEN REPLACED THE PANEL NO CHARGE. WHILE DOING THIS HE PROPOSED AN ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT. I AM PREDISPOSED TO GOOD MAINTENANCE, IF THE CONTRACT HOLDS VALUE. HALLMARK'S GIVES PRIORITY SERVICE, NO OVERTIME CHARGES, 2 CLEANINGS AND INSPECTIONS PER YEAR (OUTSIDE AND INSIDE UNITS, TO INCLUDE WINTER HEAT AND SUMMER A/C COMPONENTS. 15% DISCOUNT ON ANY REPAIRS, 5% OFF PARTS.

I CALLED JARRELL AND ASKED FOR AN ESTIMATE TO INSTALL A FAUCET IN MY KITCHEN SINK. I WAS TOLD JARRELL DID NOT GIVE ESTIMATES ON THE PHONE. WHEN I ASKED FOR A RANGE OR BALLPARK COST I WAS TOLD JARRELL WOULD NOT GIVE ME THAT EITHER. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME $59 FOR JARRELL TO COME TO MY HOUSE AND GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. SO WHEN I SAID IF JARRELL GAVE ME A $300 ESTIMATE, AS AN EXAMPLE, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $59 FOR THAT ESTIMATE, I WAS TOLD ''YES''--THAT IS A GAMBLE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO TAKE. OTHER PLUMBERS GIVE FREE ESTIMATES AND HOME DEPOT, WHERE I BOUGHT THE FAUCET, SAID THEY WOULD INSTALL IT FOR $115. IF JARRELL HAD GIVEN ME A RANGE OF PRICES, I WOULD HAVE THAT WAS FAIR, BUT I WAS NOT WILLING TO PLAY ''RUSSIAN ROULETTE'' WITH A COMPANY I HAD NO EXPERIENCE WITH.

THE WORK WAS DONE QUICKLY, AND THE PLUMBERS WERE POLITE AND FRIENDLY. COST SEEMED HIGH FOR THE TIME SPENT (6 HOURS) AND MATERIALS (I CHECKED MATERIAL COSTS ON THE INTERNET), BUT JARRELL WAS LOWER THAN OTHER QUOTES. THE GAS VALVE CONNECTION WAS INSTALLED BEHIND A KITCHEN CABINET, BUT PLACED OUTSIDE THE WALL RATHER THAN INSIDE WITH A VALVE BOX FLUSH WITH THE WALL. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A LITTLE SLOPPY AND NOT THE PROCEDURE SHOWN IN THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S LITERATURE. PLUMBER INSISTED HIS INSTALLATION WAS FINE. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN AN A ON QUALITY OF WORK EXCEPT FOR THE VALVE ISSUE. PLUMBER HAD TO RETURN TO FIX SMALL GAS LEAK AT CONNECTION TO THE STOVE TOP.

JOE WAS ALL OF THE ABOVE. VERY SATISFIED WITH SERVICE.

THE TECHNICIAN WAS ON TIME AND WORKED QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY. HE TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT WENT WRONG AND SHOWED THE PART AND BURNED WIRES. HE ALSO DISCUSSED SEVERAL OPTIONS ON HOW TO HANDLE THE REPAIRS. THIS WAS MY BEST EXPERIENCE WITH AC REPAIR.
