I had a good overall experience with him, however I ordered some filters on 25th May, and they were supposed to come a week later but did not arrive. I called them about a week later, the first part of June and she said they have been ordered and should come the following Thursday. Then On the 20th June, the filters were ordered but I did not receive them. The girl was supposed to call me that afternoon and I have not heard from them yet. I said I should have followed a claim from my credit card company then and she said oh no do not do that. They do not like me to do that. That’s why I pay everything on credit card. So she said that she would find out and call me back, as the girl was at lunch. I do not see why the person who I was transferred in that department was not able to go into her records and read whatever her notes were and take it from there. Instead she said the girl was at lunch and she would call me back. That girl has not called me back. So now I would call the credit card company and file a claim on the filter switch cost. It did not have to pay for them. The filter was $39.00 for special filters. It was Hallmark and it was taken over by One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning. But when they were with Hallmark, they were more customer responsive.

I had several bids and their's wasn't the cheapest but it wasn't the most expensive. They really did a good job and they really offered a little more in what they did and I was very pleased with it. We had them set up to come for maintenance.

A friend of mine recommended Hallmark One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating to me. They have done work for me several times before. They will be coming this Friday for heating and air conditioning annual maintenance. They offer a maintenance plan. The furnace situation was a little different, it had to wait a while to coordinate the date due to my work schedule. They guy that came to assess what was wrong was very thorough.

I have used One Hour in the past and up until this recent interaction they were quite helpful. They have a yearly "club membership" they push and in general it saves you some money on parts and "checkups" depending on the age of your system. I had a checkup in January and was told by the tech to call back in April to setup a freon install. As part of this conversation he told me that since he was recommending the service that there would not be a service call fee in April, just the freon cost (about $50). And so I contacted them again in April to set up an appointment. I was told there would be a service fee of $48. I mentioned to them what the tech in January had told me (and written down) about no service fee, they put me on hold, then came back and said that is not usually the case but they would honor it. April 20th arrived and the tech was to be at my house between Noon and 3:30pm. About 3:00pm it started raining pretty bad and the tech had still not shown. I called One Hour and they stated that the tech had been out to my house but no one had responded. Now that was a straight-up lie since I was working from home all day and I can see the front walkway from my office. They said they would have the tech go back, but I mentioned the rain. The phone agent said she would contact the tech and get back to me as to whether he'd come out due to the rain. Never heard from them. In fact, they didn't call to follow-up and reschedule either. I've been traveling so a few weeks went by but I called recently to arrange the service. Once again I was told that there is a $48 service fee for the tech to show up. I again mentioned what the tech in January had said and that the previous appointment should have notes about this. I was put on hold, the agent came back and said that there would be a service fee. So, even though the previous appointment had waived it AND that they had missed the appointment and did not follow-up to reschedule they still see no reason to waive the fee? I will be asking for a membership refund and contacting a different company.

They were very efficient, very open to questions, and always gave me the answers. They explained what they were doing, and told me what they did in their own homes. They told me what I should do when I could afford it. No one ever pressured me. I don't remember exactly everything they did. I know I would give them all A's. I will continue to use them. They are the ones I do use.
Description of Work: I have used Hallmark One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating. They were here a few months ago. They do what is called a comfort visit. That's when they set the HV/AC for the changing seasons. There is no charge for them to do that, and they come on a regular basis.

Description of Work: Had a new 5 Ton 14 SEER Amana system heating & Cooling system installed. The two service tech (Juan & Ceaser) doing the install were professional, courteous and very maticulous to do an exceptional job. The duct work, wiring and installation were done perfectly. Only complain is it took longer than I anticipated ~ 9 hours... but the amount of time and effort was well worth the superb job they did. Highly recommend them. After doing a little shopping I also felt their price was fair. Needless to say everything was done up to code.

We are on a two year contract plan if anything needs fixed or checked up on. They are very neat and good at putting things down on the floor. They are good at explaining what they have done. They also call ahead of time to let you know roughly when they will be there.

The work was exceptional. They had to get a different unit than they initially brought, and they did that with no complaint and it worked out fine. I like how they quoted me a price in 2011 and honored the quote even though I put it off for a while. They also financed it for a year with no interest. I would definitely use them again.

It was a very good experience. There was a scheduling snafu where they had failed to record the promised date and time for the appointment. When I called them at 10:00 am to ask where they were they admitted their own error and sent two crews instead of one and still had the system installed and operating within the promised time frame. The guys were polite, efficient and professional. I rated Hallmark as all A's except for punctuality and price. I just explained the punctuality grade. The price grade is a B because I do feel like I could have saved a buck going with a lesser provider; however, I did not buy Hallmark's cheapest system, so I am not all that price sensitive. You pay for quality once, you pay for lack of quality over and over again. The salesman did a very good job explaining why I needed some upgrades and didn't need others. I know something about A/C and Heating and nothing the salesman said was untruthful or exaggerated. So I assume when he was telling me about things I didn't know that he was also being truthful. (I always play dumb when talking to saleman). On other comment on one of the marks given above: Would you use them in the future? I answered Yes because there are too few options. A company can get a "Yes" if they don't anger the customer and the customer would be willing to use them again. But this one's different. This is the kind of "Yes" where I won't even call anyone else, if something needs to be repaired or adjusted I will call them and no one else. Hallmark has become "my a/c company."

My mom knew she needed a new A/C since her's was over 15 yrs old. The sales person came out and measured everything, took into account my mothers budget and gave us multiple options to choose from. The install crew were outstanding, we bought them lunch we were so pleased with their work. The house looked the same after they left. Usually when you have workers in your home you end up cleaning up after them. Six or so months later there were some noises in the ducts and we called them back. The tech they sent noticed that the boxes that the vents attach to had not been caulked and said we were probably getting attic dust sucked into the house (which I later caulked for my mom). He found that it was the new plastic grills that were making the noise. Hallmark replaced them with some metal ones at no up charge (they have some sort of 2 yr satisfaction guarantee) and everything has been great since.
Description of Work: Hallmark replaced the duct work, coil and condenser in my moms home.

The first technician they sent out didn't repair the furnace correctly. I knew there was a problem after he left and I called them. The owner called back and they sent a different technician out. They repaired the furnace and waived the charge.

Our air conditioner quit blowing cold air on Saturday, November 12, 2011. We called Hallmark, who we’ve had on contract to inspect and service our HVAC unit twice each year. A technician came on Monday evening (November 14, 2011) and did a few diagnostic tests. He said we needed a new compressor unit outside and new unit inside. The new A/C unit would come with a free new furnace. All together, the total price for replacements would be $7,867, $8,890, or $11,347, depending on quality level. There was also an option for a short-term patch repair, which would cost about $5000 and would only be warrantied for 30 days—he did not recommend this. We subscribed to Angie’s List to find a contractor for a second opinion. The next day, November 15, 2011, based on Angie’s List reviews, we called another AC service company and a technician came that afternoon. He spent much more time than the Hallmark technician analyzing and diagnosing the outside unit, and he determined all we needed was a replacement capacitor in the starter unit. He advised us that a future replacement may be needed in the near future, but not immediately. Replacing the capacitor and adding a little Freon cost $289 and we have had cool air since then. We have never had a complaint about Hallmark before, but we are very disappointed that the technician prescribed an $8000+ repair when a $300 repair would do. We are cancelling our service agreement with Hallmark. After the repairs were completed, the A/C unit has performed well for a month and a half, reassuring us that the other technician diagnosed and repaired the unit correctly.
Description of Work: After our air conditioner quit blowing cold air, a technician from Hallmark came to diagnose our unit and gave a repair quote of several thousand dollars. We called another company for a second opinion, and their technician repaired our unit for less than $300.

In the past they have put in a water heater for me. They pretty much come when they say they will or at least they call to inform you that they would be late and the reason for it. You pay what they give you as an estimate. They are a little bit pricey but if they have to do something extra, they don’t charge you for it. So it balances it out in the end. They do a good job. I never see them making something up or adding to the bills. I feel like I am being treated fairly.

I have signed up with them for a yearly or annual maintenance for my water heater. So this visit had no charge. They are actually very professional and so they took care of things. This is their second visit coming out and so they fixed what they identified as a problem. Everything is working well since they fixed it. I will use their services again in the future.

Hallmark was very prompt and arrived at our house as scheduled. The service tech looked at the AC/Heating unit that was broken and we talked through several alternatives including fixing the existing issues or completely replacing. The tech was very honest and told us that if we fix the existing unit, it may last for a while, but the costs that go into fixing may be better spent in a new system (as fixing the system would have cost around $1000 and there was no guarantee on how long that might last). The tech suggested we talk to another tech who performs new installs to determine the cost of a new system and then make up our minds. We really appreciated the open honesty, and frankly, we had already had a couple of other AC people look at the problem, so this tech's story lined up with what others had told us. In the end, we didn't do anything with the broken system yet but we are still thinking about it. Meanwhile, we mentioned that we had 2 other units that needed servicing so the tech offered us the yearly service plan and we agreed to sign up. With the yearly service plan, Hallmark comes out twice a year to check the AC/Heating and perform tune-up services. Although it's about $575 for two systems, I think it's worth it in the long run as having a tuned AC/Heating will cut down on electricity costs and maintains the longevity of the systems. The tech also recommended UV filters on the 2 units, to kill the bacteria in the system, and although that was about $750 to put that into 2 systems, we went ahead with the install. The tech was very thorough with the servicing, and efficient with the installs. He was very courteous and knowledgeable, and did not recommend anything that we really didn't need or just try to upsell for the sake of it. This is why I have used Hallmark for over 10 years. In my other homes, I kept the same tech for several years, and that made a lot of difference because we did not have to get a new person up to speed on the peculiarities of our systems. All of my houses have been built around 1950-60 and with age of a house, there are always peculiarties that need to be considered. I only gave a C on the price b/c they are a bit on the high side, but obviously, feel there is value there for the money, which is why I continue to use their services.
Description of Work: We have 3 AC/Heating units in our house, and called Hallmark to check on one of AC/Heating units as it was going out and we wanted to discuss options on either fixing or replacing. In the end, we did not fix the issues with the unit that was going out, but we did have a bi-yearly tune-up service performed on the other 2 units and we installed UV lights on the 2 units.

They couldn't come out the same day. They were also late when they did come out. They tried to give me a hard sell. I think some of the things they tried to push on me were not needed. I went ahead and did it anyway. They told me that a surge protection unit for the air conditioner was needed. I didn't think it was necessary, but they were really pushy. They eventually fixed my air-conditioner, and it is still working. However, I didn't feel comfortable with their service.

So in Total, this company has charged us $806.75 just to replace a line to the compressor. Instead of acknowledging their technician's lack of expertise & apologizing; this is the message the owner sent me along with the refund check to the BBB "Mrs. Figueroa, You didn't like us, went to ARS, didn't like them, came back to us, We bend over backwards for you. With that said You need to find another AC company. Royce McCann" Having to spend $806 and wasting over 20 hours over 2 months is not what I call bending over backwards to resolve a simple leak from a line to a condensor. If you are considering using this company, please get at least 2 other second opinions so you do not have to waste time off from work & get un-necessary repairs done. I called the customer service agent today, 9-22-11, and cancelled our membership.
Description of Work: Over the course of 2 months, One hour air has come to our house at least 7 times, not including all the follow-up phones call, to try to figure out if we had a Leak or not from a copper pipe going to our condenser. This was the 1st BBB complaint I filed against the company to get a $275 refund from the company:. "The first time One Hour Air came to our house because the air was not cooling was on July 14, 2011 . On that day, Sean, the technician said there was nothing wrong with the system but we were just low on freon so just needed to add 5 pounds of freon and charged us $230 that day. (The company had already come out in the Spring to inspect our A/C unit and did not detect any problems and just replaced a capacitor for $166.75. ) The second time we called them was only 12 days later on July 26, 2011 because our a/c was not cooling again. This time, Peter the tech, said there was a leak in our coil and needed to add 6 more pounds of freon. The tech never showed us where the leak was but we trusted the company so on August 2, 2011, the company replaced our coil & filter for $275. You would think we would have asked for a second opinion but trusted this company. The third time we called them was 12 days later on August 14, 2011 because the a/c was not cooling again even though we had supposedly fixed the leak in the coil. By this time, we were aggravated from having to take all this time off from work to have a company repair equipment that was not even faulty Fred the technician told us we had a crack on the line from the compressor and needed to replace that. When I asked Fred why they didn't catch this the other 2 times the company came out, he did not have an answer. " We had contacted another company, ARS, who also could not fix the leak in the line , so against my better judgement, contacted One hour Air again to come out to inspect the pipe connected to the condensor. We were desperate to get the A/C fixed since Houston was experiencing triple digit temperatures all August. This was the 2nd BBB complaint I filed against the company to get a $96.00 refund. On 8-31-11, One Hour sent their service manager & senior technican, Chris Gage/Jason to our house. They indicated they leak search the condensor and found no leaks and just added 2 more pounds of r410A freon. We paid $96.00. On 9-15-11, when the A/c was not cooling again, we knew the leak was still there. They sent another technician out that finally found the leak in the high side copper U part by compressor. On 9-16-11, they charged me $410 to put in a new line to the compressor..
