They are really good. They do a very thorough job and are always on time. They always complete the work for a reasonable price. If you pay early for the service they will give you a discount.
Description of Work: I have a annual service plan. They come out to service in the winter and summer to ensure everything is working properly.

I received a Telemarketing call from someone who does not know I already have an Insurance Policy with this company. I explained to the man at the other end of the phone that every time a service man came to my house they would tell me that my Thermostat was out, and my unit outside was leaking oil. I paid cash for this unit that is under warranty plus I have a service plan contract. The Telemarketer said "I would call the company and request that they come out and repair the problem. I did. The service man came out on the expected time of schedule and said "Yes you have an oil leak, then he went on to show me a book on the costs involved under my current plan and told me it would cost $505.00 for his time to install. I was told on the phone that the trucks carry my part. He explained he had a generic one that would be cheaper. He also tried to explain that if I upgraded my service plan agreement it would be cheaper on installation charges. This previous company was called Home Comfort Solutions where I purchased this AC unit. This ac was installed in 2008.I paid $ 5,000. for this unit plus tax. I have had more repairs on this unit than my other house that was built in 1974 that has never had to be serviced and I told the Maintence Man this. "Why is my brand new one constantly breaking down". His remark was that they are made over seas and the ac unit at my other house was probably made better to last. They did not bring the part that I requested nor did any one replace the Thermostat. Since the parts are still under warranty why did they not bring me the parts? I am constantly calling and dishing out monies for repairs. I have Leukemia and i must have AC. I recommended this original company to my neighbors and now I feel horrible that I did so. I am a senior citizen, sick and on a limited income. I did not have him instal the part since he did not have it on his truck. I had to pay for his service all of $48.00. When this AC goes out I will buy window units for my house. I feel so used and lied to by this company. I wanted to speak to the CEO of this company, so far I have not heard from him. I will turn in this company to the BBB.
Description of Work: The service man was very proper on time. He checked my ac unit outside for the leaking oil.

It was a disaster from day one. It was supposedly the best heating and air conditioning company in Houston and it's supposed to be nationwide. Everything from installing the wrong wattage of fuses to not connecting up all of the air conditioning. They replaced the whole system with a $7000 replacement. They did not even connect all of the ducts to the box in the attic. When the city comes out to inspect, it normally takes about an hour, it's just a formality and they give you a permit. We got a red tag and was denied permit. Then they had to send out people again to put in a new box last week. We're still waiting on the permits. It's been a comedy of errors from day one. For the amount of money we paid them, it is just not fun. It was about five months before they got the city out to give the permit because I think they completely forgot about the permit in the first place. We've spent probably $20,000 with this company over the last several years with replacing air conditioning and everything else. We're also on a VIP service plan with them so that we get supposedly immediate response to everything. They put it on the schedule and then never showed up. I had one situation with the first air conditioning unit I got with them, where they fired the person that installed because he'd messed up on some of the installs. He turned up on our doorstep about a couple of weeks after he'd been fired. He asked us to pay for his back pay or he was going to put a lien on our house. They're supposed to have specially background checked people.

Our Rudd AC unit is 16 months old. The starter kit blew out on Friday of Labor Day weekend. We called one Hour because they bought Hallmark, which had a stellar reputation. They an A+ rating with the BBB, which won't last for long. The starter kit was replaced, but the technician did not check to see if it was covered by the warranty, which it was, even though we had told him the unit was 16 months old. He charged $200 for this service. He then said we need five pounds of Freon, which cost another $250, because there was probably a leak. Since it was a holiday weekend, we didn't have any choice but to let him do it. Today (9/5/2013), I had my regular service people (a 30-year relationship) check the unit to make sure everything was working properly, particularly since I had read on Angie's List that this company uses after-market parts. My service people are the ones that told me that the starter kit was covered by the warranty (all parts for 10-years), which the technician should have known. I was also told that there was no way the unit, being 15 months old, would have needed Freon. No leak was found. After telling us we should purchase their Comfort Contract, he proceeded to tell us that there was probably a leak in the coils, which as I said there is not. He said that repair would be a about $1,000 and he would set up an appointment for someone to come check for a leak. It was pretty easy to see that we were being set up and that the next technician would find a leak whether there was one or not. I called One Hour today to tell them that the starter kit was covered by the unit's warranty. I will get a check for $60 because I was told the installation was $140. The technician was here an hour. Who knows what they would have said the installation charge for the surge protector and Freon was? Read the other reviews on this company. There is definitely a pattern of underhandedness.
Description of Work: Replaced starter kit, added five pounds of Freon, and installed a surge protector, plus talked us into purchasing their yearly service contract (unfortunately, I failed to check Angie's list before hiring these people).

A year ago I had a new AC unit put in. It's been a nightmare dealing with this company. The service men are great and the AC unit is great. The problem is the owner and management is maybe the worst I have ever had to deal with. They really do have some great people. In spite of the owner and management. I have had 4 or 5 service men and they have all been great.

They were very very good. Very nice people, caring people. Did a good job. There were additional problems that came up but they kept to their original quote. There was a problem the estimator had not seen, even though it probably cost quite a bit more they ended up honoring their quote. They were honest and responsible.

They promised to perform 20 "Precision Tune-Up and Professional cleaning" operations to tune-up my unit for $59.00 in the flyer they mailed me. So I decided to give them a shot. The tech did maybe 10 of "Individual Operations" as I watched him most of the time. He did not install anti-algae tablets, I had to tell him to vacuum the condensate drain line. He was going to clean the condensate drain line, but instead cut the condensate drain line tube near the sink and then told me I needed to replace it myself once it became too short from him cutting too much off. Should have spent the extra $30.00 ($89.99) and went with Weeks Service Co., at least they would have opened my air handler and cleaned the blower motor and evaporator coil. I hate to leave a bad review, but it was just lazy service.

Contractor was called for routine checkup of our A/C units. The charge was $59 per unit. That was OK but they suggested replacing the capacitors on 2 units. The additional charged came to $378 that is an absolute ripoff since the part costs $20-30 and it can be replaced in 2 minutes, which could be viewed as instant replacement during the already paid for inspection. Stay away from this company

I used this company for annual tuneups for my heating and a/c units for 4 years. I joined their club to save money on future repairs. Every time they came out they convinced me I had to spend more money on important upgrades like enhanced pan treatments and surge protectors. The last time they were out they said my capacitor was putting too much stress on compressor and needed to be replaced. They did not tell me it was under warranty even though it was. I paid over $200. This year I decided to use someone else for my tuneup and found the capacitor was inferior quality, leaking already, and the incorrect size for my unit. Guess what - another $250 because now that it has been replaced with an inferior unit, the A/C manufacturer would not warrranty it. I did however get a 5 year warranty on the part from my new repair company. I won't be using these people anymore.

We like them. They have a comfort club and we get two visits a year. They come within the time slot that they tell us. If they don’t, it is free. All of the technicians that we have had from them have been knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. They are all very friendly; the technicians and the people on the phone. They return calls promptly. We like the quality of work.

The first warm day (just under 90) the auxillary drain lines were draining water outside. I called Hallmark and asked for a service call. The appointment was set. The service person (Evan) arrived at the appointed time, donned his shoe covers and went into the attic to inspect the units. He reported that they were clogged and that one of the drip pans had a tiny leak in one corner. He got his equipment and proceded to clear the lines. Then he performed a complete check on the entire AC system inside and out. He completed the call and said he would order a replacement drain pan for the attic.
Description of Work: Evan was here on time. He cleared the auxillary drain lines for both my AC units and did a complete service check on both units. He was tidy, efficient and pleasant. I have used this company for many years and have consistently been pleased with their service.

Our A/C went out and we called for a couple of bids from companies we found via Angie's List. In the end we went with Halmark. Their prices were a little higher but their service and professionalism exceeded our expectations. Their replacement service comes with a very reasonably priced servicing package. Over the past year they have been proactive in calling us to schedule our maintenance and upkeep appointments that come with the service package. We have never been asked to pay for any additional items or work. A year later, we are still very pleased with Halmark.

The entire experience has been unsettling. We would not use them again.
Description of Work: Our aging heating system failed during prepaid routine fall maintenance. The coolant was lost. The parts could not or were not worth repairing. The service man called a salesman who gave us a high pressure sales pitch presenting several confusing options for replacement of the aging system. While in our house Bob the salesman took cell phone pictures of us and of the furnishings in our house without telling us that he was doing so until he had finished. We are uneasy about this and wonder where the pictures will end up. Ultimately we did not buy although we gave him a $300. down payment check. The next morning having had time to sort out our options we called and canceled the agreement. We were unhappy about the entire experience. Several times we have asked to have the check returned to us. As of Jan 10, 2013 that has not happened. They did not track in dirt, did not leave a mess. The service man cleaned up after himself.

I had been a customer of One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating ever since I was introduced to them by another company that installed my home generator system. At first, I was pleased with One Hour's services (I believe they serviced my residence five times within the past three years, both heating and air conditioning). I became a member of their Comfort Club, paying a monthly fee for the privilege of their coming to my residence twice a year. Over these visits, I became aware that while these home visits were paid for by my club dues, EVERY SINGLE time they came out, they wanted to sell me other products that would IMPROVE my cooling or heating system. So I paid this company A LOT more than planned each visit. I grew tired of their sales pitches and after the March 2012 visit, I discontinued my association with One Hour Air Conditioning . Then, just today, my air conditioner gave out. I called a new air conditioning service and discovered that an after-market run capacitor installed (on my air conditioner) by One Hour AC had failed. Because it was not the original capacitator, Morrow could not honor the warrantee on this. Did I mention that my home is only four years old? When they replaced the original capacitator with the after-market one (only about two years after my Carrier air conditioner was installed new), One Hour Air Conditioning did not mention any warrantee. In fact, the original capacitor had been working fine when they told me they needed to upgrade it. BOTTOM LINE: This company comes out with their yellow and red gaudy trucks and tries to get you to purchase much more than you ask for. Beware of these guys. I was taken several times, and I'm glad I'm rid of them.

I called this company when my Home Warranty Company was unable to schedule anyone before 24 hours. I had worked with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing last fall to have 2 hot water heaters replaced and I was extremely impressed with the professionalism they exhibited. They had left me some info regarding their sister companies so I thought Hallmark would be a good choice. They were very professional on the phone when I scheduled the appointment for late that evening. The young man who showed up immediately decided that the blower motor needed to be replaced - this made sense because the unit was running but no cold air. He just happened to have one of these in his truck and after several hours, he had it installed. $650. As he was leaving, he made a comment "Don't be surprised if this doesn't fix the problem" This concerned me and when I questioned him further, he said our unit needed to be replaced at some point. At any rate, the unit was working and the house began to cool off. All was well until we got up the next morning and A/C was again not working! I called Hallmark and they said they were extremely busy but someone would be out before Midnight! A different tech showed up about 10:00 PM and wanted to see the diagnostic paperwork from the prior service call - there was none. So he had to start checking this out and discovered that both units were low on freon. Don't think this was even checked the first time. At any rate after adding freon ($234) the units were both working. When I asked him if this could have been the original problem, he declined to answer but did say that someone would be contacting us.That was 2 months ago and we still have had no followup by Hallmark. At this point, I am not so sure that the motor even needed to be replaced when freon was the problem, costing an additional $650.00
Description of Work: First call, a blower motor was replaced costing $650.Next day, same problem - no cool air so called again and this time a different tech came out and replaced freon in both units. The second tech was very professional in that he put on shoe covers and also put down a cloth before opening the attic pull down door, which I appreciated after having to clean up debris from the night before when the first tech was here.

My AC went out and it was very shortly over 95 degrees in my house, so on Saturday morning I called to see if I could get someone out to fix it. I called at around 9:30am and was able to get a same-day service appointment for 1 to 5pm. The technician, Chris, arrived at 5:30pm, but their office called at 5pm to let me know he was on his way. He always wore shoe covers inside the house even though he had to take them off and put them back on multiple times as he went from indoors to the outdoor unit. Very professional and helpful--even apologized for "charging so much" since the problem was diagnosed and fixed in about half an hour (bad wiring). I feel the price was very fair: after all, I'm paying for his training and expertise--his ability to get things done a lot faster and more safely than an amateur could--not how many minutes he physically spent on my property. He waived the service call fee without argument (special offer on website, plus he was technically late). Even had I not been able to get the fee waived, the service call fee for the weekend is reasonable. The only thing is that you have to specifically mention the special offers; I don't think the technicians or the office folks keep up with what they are offering on their website. Overall, a very positive experience. Would not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Diagnosed the problem (plugs worn, wire completely decayed through) and fixed in about half an hour. Recommended replacing the evaporator coil in the attic area, since it is extremely rusty.

At 4:00 we received a call stating that the technician was on his way "if this was a convenient time". A short time later another very courteous and professional young man by the name of Mike showed up, and in a matter of minutes had diagnosed the ptoblem as a blown capacitor.....something he explained to me was somewhat like an expensive light bulb...an item that just wears out in time and must be replaced periodically. (he went into a much more detailed explanation of why these parts no longer last as long as the once did, but assured me that our situation was not unusual at all). He replaced the capacitor and gave us a break on the price, basically charging the same amount they would have charged the week before when they did the inspection.I will definitely be calling One Hour for future A/C work..
Description of Work: Vendor came out on the 28th of June to do a routine inspection and maintenance of our 2 A/C units and did so at recent advertised sale price, stating upon completion that they were functioning properly. Also made note of a possible overflow drainage problem of which I should be aware. Their representative was very thorough, personable and professional. As luck would have it 7 days later the larger of our 2 units stopped functioning and a call was made to One Hour to see if they would come out to diagnose the problem and provide an estimate at no charge. That call was made at about 10:30 A.M and we were promised service that day between 5-9 P.M.

We called Hallmark One Hour to fix our A/C because it was not working, the technician came, he said there was a very small leak but could not find it, he put some freon and in less than 1 hour work he charged near 538 US$, he mentioned the air should start cooling in the next 2 or 3 hours, it never worked, we called them again, they send a new technician and he said that there was a leak but he could not find it so he needed to replace the whole system!!!. Overall a very BAD service with no positive outcomes and I feell that I was robbed 538 US$ for nothing. I'm very disppointed and I suscribed to Angie's list to find a serious and decent provider.

Our sales rep suggested a 3 ton unit, which he thought would be sufficient for our house. Everything went very smoothly with the install and all work was done in a very professional manner. After the installation, we realized that the unit could not keep the house at a comfortable temperature in the afternoons. Bob (senior manager) and Doug (super technician) came back out and re-evaluated the whole situation, decided that they had recommended too small a unit, and said that they would take care of it. We decided that we would like to upgrade to a more top of the line unit with two stage operation. Bob gave us at least a 30% discount on the upgrade and the crew came out the next day to take out the 3 ton and replace it with the 4 ton. These are the most professional folks I've dealt with in a long time. I realize that they initially made a mistake on the size we needed, but they rectified the mistake immediately and the installation is extremely professional. We did not realize how poor our old set up was until we saw a professional installation. I could not be happier with our new system.
Description of Work: We were looking for a company to replace our entire HVAC system and replace all the ductwork in the house.
