Lone Star Glass

I called a few months ago to get a quote on two windows at my house. My information was taken and was told someone would come out to measure. After two weeks I had not heard anything so I called back. They then scheduled for the week after. Someone did come out, so three weeks from when I originally called. The gentlemen who measured the glass said someone from the office would call back with a quote. Another two weeks and I had not heard anything so I called. I was given a quote. After the quote was given I mentioned that I was a member of Angie's List and inquired about the 10% discount. The gentlemen (who I know realize is the owner/manager) told me they would handle the discount at the time of payment, so I accepted. After another two weeks I had not heard back so I called again. This time they said they needed to remeasure and get a template because one of my windows has an arch. I asked why they didn't do it last time and they replied because it was only a quote at the time. OK, I can understand that. Template is taken and remeasured and about a week goes by. Not wanting to wait any longer I called to inquire on the status. They said the glass would be ordered but it will take a while. I was okay with this. Then they went over pricing with me again. I mentioned the 10% discount. The lady said they underbid the quote so would not be able to go any lower. I asked her what the point of advertising a 10% Angie's List discount if they didn't give it. She put me on hold. Then the owner/manager got on the phone and told me rudely, 'That's the lowest we're going to go. If you like the price then we'll install it. If you don't then go somewhere else.' So I'm going somewhere else and warning the rest of you guys to think hard about doing the same. About two months of waiting on them and I get a rude awakening in the end. I should have gotten three quotes originally but decided to just accept them because they had a good Angie's List rating. Now I know better.

The price was good. They scheduled it within a week. The replacement is exactly the same as my original. I am very pleased with their service.

They came when they said they would. They fixed the window for the amount stated in their estimate. All done within one hour.

I called Lone Star Glass to request an estimate. They gave me the estimate over the phone and we agreed for them to come out and measure. They called a couple of days later with a revised cost (which was very near the telephone estimate.) We accepted and they said they would call in a few days after the mirrors were cut. This all happened just as they described. They came out and installed the mirrors. The installer was friendly and did an excellent job. We had a coupon from Angie's List and saved 10% on the cost. We were very satisfied with Lone star Glass and would recommend them to others.

The glass was cut to specifications and available for pickup in the time frame agreed upon. Used the coupon for a nice little discount.

The overall performance was excellent. The came in remove mirror and it was exactly what I wanted.

they were third on the list and while not cheapest where i between the full service servelight and bottom line affordable glass. They took the 10% coupon off, with difficulty of the system not the intent, and it came out at $225 between the $300 and $140 quotes I got by shopping around from other referrals. As these guys had an A rating with BB and others had lower ratings I went with Lone Star, very responsive on phone, came out on time (offered twice to come out sooner) and did repair in my driveway. Only cleanup was my fault for not removing stuff from window shades that got a little white sealant on them during installation. Installer even pointed out that having had windshield replaced for third time the factory shield at bottom of the glass was very fragile, but he got it on and off with no problems (to date). highly recommended if you are not looking for bottom line cost, just make sure the coupon is agreed to by the sales rep and it shows up on the installers invoice before you start the work, makes life easier at the end

Lone Star Glass scheduled Gilbert to measure the table tops and fabricate the template. I was given a 2 hour window for his arrival, and that is when he showed up. He measured both, used brown paper to make the template and covered the edging options with me. When I asked about getting tempered glass, he noted that for the price he would call back with. The following working day, he called back with the price and confirmed that I wanted Lone Star to fulfill the oder. The order was fulfilled within a week. When ready, they called and scheduled a time to deliver the glass table tops. The delivery was right on time. The glass table tops look beautiful.

I could not be happier with the service we received fom Lone Star! We called Tuesday morning and got an appointment set for Friday afternoon between 12-5pm. Friday morning the company calls at 9am and asks if the tech. can come out early. Perfect! Technician, Jesus, arrives at 10am and is finished removing, installing, and cleaning up new window pane about 20 minutes later. Jesus was very friendly and professional! He even cut off a piece of the window film on the broken pane to give to me so we could get a good match on replacing film on new pane. Cost for section of window pane was $190. I have no opinion on whether price was too high or not. It is what it is. I highly recommend this company to perform similar work to anyone.

Arrived on time, Appeared to do a proper job of measuring. Told me what job would entail BUT never heard from them again.

I had a confirmed 9 - 11 AM appointment. I arranged to stay home from work and waited for their arrival. By 11 AM, no one showed up, no one called. When I called them at 11 AM they did not know where their technician was and promised to call me back right away. They did not call. At 11:45 AM I called them again and was told the person I needed to talk to, Chris, was busy with other customers. I waited until 12:45, still no phone call. At that point I had to leave and get to work. Why do I have to forfeit my right to work to allow this contractor the luxury of operating an inefficient business?

We had used Lone Star years ago to replace a car window, so we checked them out for the shower door. They had multiple options of doors and glass, and were able to quote different options for us, which was very helpful. They were on time for both the measurement appointment and for installation. Their employees were curteous and helpful and the total price including installation was less than install-yourself shower doors we'd seen online. Our door looks beautiful and we'd definitely use Lone Star again.

I have used this provider twice with good success both times. The first time was last year, when someone broke a window at my mother's house. Lone Star replaced the window from the outside, so I did not have to be there, and cleaned up the broken glass. For our kitchen desk, Lone Star came over to make a template, since one desk end had an odd shape. Since the remodeling was not complete, we weren't in a hurry for the glass. However, Lone Star called the next week to set a time (nice, small window of time!) to install. The installers arrived promptly and installed the glass, putting plastic buffers between the glass and the desk top. The invoice was reasonable, less than we had thought it might cost. Lone Star is easy to work with and does what it says it will do.

Overall it went well. The quality was okay, though there was some excess glue left that I felt could have been cleaned up. Based on my research, the price was reasonable. The worker who came out to do the replacement was prompt and professional.

I called Lone Star Glass to get several cracked and one broken window replaced. There was significant confusion about when they were coming to my house and they did not actually make it out on the day we scheduled (I got a call from the technician about 3 hours before he was due asking if he could come right then - I said no - and he called again later and said he wasn't going to make it that day). The second day, they came on schedule and replaced my windows in a timely fashion. I noticed an error in the bill when it came time to pay, and I had to sit with the technician for 20 minutes while he talked with someone in dispatch about the bill. They finally got the bill fixed (over $100 less than what was originally charged). My impression of this company is that it is disorganized and confused and not very customer service oriented.

Sent an e-mail request for a quote on windshield replacement from their website. Never got any response.

Lonestar over the course of 4 months replaced 18 large (4'x6') windows in our house along with installing a frameless shower door, a tempered glass backsplash in our kitchen and installing a new vanity mirror. They were one of the few window companies that we called (we called 5 to give an estimate) that actually sent us a quote without us having to follow up. They also were more reasonably priced than several of their competitors. They were polite, curteous, and clean when they installed our items. On the last two jobs they did for us, I trusted them enough to drop a key off when I had an emergency and they let themselves into the house to finish the job. They did an outstanding job and even fixed a problem that the previous installer had created without charging me. I can't recommend them enough.
