Lone Star Glass

Been a couple of years, but I recall they worked quickly and confidently, tearing out old material w/o damaging marble tiles then putting in new panels and door so they looked like they had always been there. Door still swings smoothly, no leaks and panels tight as day they were installed. Professional work.

Lone Star Glass was scheduled to come to my home on Friday, Jan 23rd in the afternoon. I would be at work that day but my husband offered to stay home and wait for Lone Star. Lone Star Glass never showed up and when I called their office at five, I only reached their answering machine/service. Their voice message stated that they were open on Saturday so I asked to be contacted to find out what happened. No one called me. I didn?t hear from them until the next week. Although they apologized for not showing, I asked why Lone Star neglected to call me and was not given a clear reason. They offered to come that day but I explained both my husband and I work and we can?t simply leave when Lone Star is ready to do the work. My husband and I have decided not to have Lone Star do the glass repair, and have worked out better solution.

About a year ago we worked with Lone Star for a custom size table top. Christopher helped me with all of the details and the table top came out great. The service was perfect from the first contact at the store to the payment and delivery. The quality of their service is impeccable and that is why I went back to Lone Star for my glass shelves, shower doors and mirror sliding cabinet doors. Besides being very pleasant to work with, the entire Lone Star team is so knowledgeable and competent that we let our contractor go before he had finished our bathroom because we trusted the Lone Star team could help and guide us in choosing just the perfect options. Service setup, the actual work, and billing went well. Andrew provided the installation service.

It took a while for them to get it done, but they measured it correctly, and replaced it correctly. I am happy with it. The proximity stood out, and several of the other places I called, didn't do that kind of work.

It was a very fast delivery. They were professional.

Parts for my car are in short supply and expensive. I needed to replace the windshield. The staff made extra effort to call around and find me a supplier with a lower price. The work was done well and in a timely manner. Staff was friendly and went the extra mile to deliver service and value!

I called and scheduled an appointment the next day. They were on time and started right to work and were finished within 1 hour. Very pleased.

Our car has a lane deviation sensor as part of the review mirror which requires a BMW supplied windshield with a cut-out for that sensor. Lone Star told us that up front and even offered that we could take it to the dealer to get it repaired as Lone Star would have to order the windshield from the dealer themselves. We went ahead with Lone Star (took a bit of a chance due to ease of access compared to the dealer) and were very satisfied with the experience. From their receptionists to their sales representative to their repair team, they provided plenty of information to help us prepare, no surprises, and delivered a very professional result.

Called on Monday 06JAN and described the job to replace some broken glass in a window, got an estimate, and scheduled the job for that Friday afternoon 10JAN. While I was on the phone the rep at Lone Star Glass, I asked about re-caulking all of the windows in my house, and he also gave me the names and phone numbers of a couple of people I could call. Friday afternoon, no one showed up. I work, so this was a real inconvenience for me ..... I called back Monday morning and rescheduled the work for Friday afternoon 17JAN. They called about 20 minutes before arriving to the house to say that they were on their way. The two workers did a great job of replacing the glass. I'll give them another try if I need their services again .... after checking their reviews on Angies List to make sure that not showing up isn't a common practice for them, or if what happened with me was just a fluke.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. WALKED IN, IMMEDIATELY ACKNOWLEDGED AND HELP OFFERED. I STATED I NEEDED A SMALL MIRROR AND TOLD CHRISTOPHER WHAT SIZE. HE ASKED WHAT IS WAS GOING TO BE USED FOR AND THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME WHAT THE BEST MIRROR WAS FOR THE REQUIREMENTS. I ALSO NEEDED A REPLACEMENT SWEEP FOR THE SHOWER DOOR. HE CALLED A PERSON UP FROM THE BACK, GAVE HIM WHAT I WANTED. IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES IT WAS GIVEN TO ME, ALONG WITH CLIPS AND SCREWS (AT NO COST) TO ATTACH THE MIRROR TO THE WALL. ALL EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. ALL OF THIS AND THEY GAVE ME A 10% DISCOUNT AS A MEMBER OF ANGIE'S LIST. CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THAT!

Service man was on time and quick. He was pleasant and informative. I was completely happy with the execution of the job.

They did a very good job at what I thought was a reasonable price. I had several glass panes available that they used, and supplied the rest themselves

These folks came to the house same day I called or very close to it. They were very nice. They measured the windows and even measured for my missing screens. They said they'd get back with me to give me an estimate. I never heard from them again.

Everything went very well with fixing the window. Arrived on time and fixed quickly. Was a fairly simply fix; thought the price was a bit high but I really didn't do any comparing so it may be standard.

Took the cracked glass to Lone Star on Saturday morning. They cut a new pane and had me out of there in 30 minutes. Great, right? Nope, when I got home, the new pane didn't fit into the door in the cabinet, Of course, it was close to quitting time so I didn't get to return to Lone Star until Tuesday. This time I brought the door to show them the pane they made didn't fit. The employee who serviced me pointed out there was an irregularity in the curvature of the pane which prevented the pane from fitting into the door. The service man had me out of there very quickly and I'd have been totally happy if one of the Lone Star people had simply apologized for the inconvenience of the extra round trip. Together, the two trips cost more than the glass and wasted a bunch of time. Next time, I would bring the whole door on the first visit.

Jamie did an excellent job. They were extremely gracious and helpful. My car window was broken into the night before and I called them the following morning to get an estimate. For the same price them will come to you and do the replacement. They were there within 5 hours of my call and replaced the window and cleaned up the broken glass in 45 minutes. Amazing service. Good way to fix a sorry problem. Would definitely use them again and refer them to family and friends.

I spoke w/Christopher, the owner, over the phone. He was very nice and helpful. Andrew and Jose came out to do the work. They were very nice and did a good job. Before Lone Star, I got another estimate from a different company, who was double what Lone Star quoted us for the work. So I went back on Angie's List and that's how I found Lone Star and ended up going with them. They were excellent!!! I would definitely use them again.

In the process of replacing the larger window (46" x 70") the Hardi-plank trim was broken during the removal process and then to make matters worse the damaged trim was reinstalled using whatever screws they had with them (i.e. various types). At no time during conversations with the main office or with the installers did they say that damage to the trim was not covered. The smaller window (34" x 59") was supposed to be replaced with matching color glass (smoke gray) but instead clear glass was installed. First someone came out to measure. Then a couple of days later they came out to install but soon discovered that the glass sizes were incorrect. Finally a couple of days later they came out to actually finish the installation. I contacted the company and a supervisor came out and basically said that I was incorrect on the color of the replaced smaller window even though I showed him a sample of the original glass. He also said that I should have been informed about the possibility that the trim could be broken and that they were not responsible. I requested a discount from the supervisor for the broken trim and the incorrect glass color. No discount shown on the final bill. They have been courteous but not customer friendly. I was hoping to find another contractor to add to my list of approved vendors, but that is not going to happen.
