Description of Work: Glass shower enclosure for corner shower with neo-angle door.** |We remodeled an upstairs bathroom that required rebuilding a corner shower from the shower pan up. For the shower glass, we had estimates from 3 different companies and decided on Lone Star. First, they sent Josh to come out and make measurements and he was extremely knowledgeable and polite and alerted us that one area of the tiled shower wall was not flat enough to make for a good glass install. Thank goodness he noticed, because our contractor had not. We had to call the contractor back out to demo part of the wall and completely re-do the tile work there. (Hey--use a level next time!) Afterwards, Josh came back out to re-measure and provide us with a schematic and a final bid based on our choice of glass and hardware. BTW, we chose to use a slim header at the top to support the glass panels better due to the corner configuration. No regrets. The install was extremely smooth and professional and the results were beautiful. The first time the shower was used, we noticed a little water leaked on the outside of the shower curb, but Lone Star came back out very quickly to inspect the seam and add more silicon caulking around the glass bracing. Price-wise, Lone Star was in the middle of our bids (our high bid was $2,800) but I can't imagine another company doing a better job with the fabrication and installation. They were terrific and we will definitely call them again when we get around to remodeling our master bath.

Description of Work: I have used Lone Star Glass since I moved to Houston--29 years ago. They have done numerous jobs for me. The replaced the mirror on a 1930's vanity. Very nicely done. Most recently I asked for pricing for glass shelving for a china cabinet--the provided an estimate that was certainly reasonable. I will complete the purchase when I can affordit. I use only Lone Star Glass for any glass needs.

Description of Work: I have used them several times for picture frame glass, and one heavy glass cutting project. Never a disappointment! Always same day, often within the hour. Oh yes, some years ago they replaced a shattered side window on my Suburban. Maybe there's a cheaper place, but my time and emotional energy are too precious to waste on the low-bid guys.

Description of Work: Cut a piece of glass for a desk. When I arrived home with the cut glass it was not an equal rectangle. We just put the side that was crooked against the wall so you can't see it. I never did contact them about this.

Description of Work: They installed a glass mirror in my bathroom. Unfortunately, they did not use any tools to anchor the glass to my wall. The mirror is on the wall but there is a large gap at the top of the mirror where it is not flush against the wall.

Description of Work: We had 2 doors enforced with heavy glass panels. We wanted to keep out the daytime crooks who destroy homes etc. So far it has worked very well. These panels are put on top of the original glass, take 30 days to cure upon installation.
