Lone Star Glass

We contacted our auto insurance company about a crack in our SUV windshield; reviewed their list of approved glass companies. We have used Lone Star Glass before for shower doors so we knew their work was good. They were knowledgeable and professional. Our insurance company worked with Lone Star Glass. Lone Star Glass and I worked out a time schedule and they got it done on time. The windshield is very nice and no leaks.

Phil came and fixed the glass quickly, but due to this aluminum door's age, its rollers were bigger than the type being used in newer style sliding glass doors. At this time I asked him to also replace the rollers in our other patio door, which seemed to also be going bad. The glass replacement cost $313 total and replacing the two sets of rollers cost $182 total plus 8.25% tax. Of this $300 was for the labor and service visit, which I thought was expensive although I have no previous experience in this type of repair.

We discovered a crack in one of several very large windows in our home. We don't know how the damage happened, but the crack went from end to end of the window, and would definitely need to be replaced. We called Lone Star Glass and another company from Angie's List, as well as a company not on the list. Turns out the company not on the list did not service our area, and actually referred us to Lone Star Glass. We received an initial estimate from the other Angie's List company of a little over $400, but the following day that company called back and said that the initial quote was in error, and the replacement would cost over $700 - the difference being mostly labor due to the dimensions of the window (the same dimensions I had given them initially.) I called Lone Star Glass and they also gave me an initial quote of a bit over $400, but said they would need to send someone out to confirm the measurements. It took a couple of days for them to visit our house and refine the dimensions and determine the type of glass needed. When they called back with the quote, it was actually a bit lower than the initial estimate! The morning of the replacement, the two technicians called to say they were on their way, and actually arrived ahead of schedule. They had the window replaced quickly, did an excellent job cleaning up, both inside and out. Before they left I asked about the silicone product they used to caulk the new window, in order to get some to do the other windows in that hallway, the technician proceeded to use his caulk to line every window in the hall, and a couple in the living area, and didn't charge me anything extra! Now that's service! Everyone I spoke to at Lone Star was friendly and helpful, I would definitely use them again, and have already recommended them to friends.

The windshield was great and they did a good job. The seal was good and I couldn't tell that it had been replaced. They were late but they called to let us know.

Since they put in a temporary glass, I was not inconvienced in any way.

They said they could do it and it would take five working days. They did it in five days. As the new table top would not fit into my car they brought it to my house without charge. The table top fit perfectly into the frame. A job well done. The people were very friendly and courteous.

We called on Monday morning and the repairman came out on Monday afternoon. He came when he said, fixed the window as promised, and charged what he had quoted us on the phone.

They showed up on time, performed a quality job at the price they estimated over the phone.

My experience was very good from beginning to end. I received an estimate from several companies. I chose Lone Star Glass for fair pricing, reputation, and location. There was frequent communication from Gonzalo (sp?) regarding scheduling, as well as potential risks of removing the shower and reinstalling. John performed the work and was very courteous, professional, and mindful of my home. The work area was kept clean on both the removal and reinstallation.

The gentleman arrived within the scheduled time frame on the same day I called. I was happy they could fit me in since it has been rainy. He had been working all day despite the storms. He checked out the window and immediately got to work. He was thorough, careful, and after he completed the work, he even cleaned up the glass fragments inside and out, from when the window had originally shattered. He also carefully cleaned the new window, and removed what tiny little silicone remained with a razor blade. The window looks like it is original, and there is no evidence whatsoever that it had been replaced. Excellent work.

It went very well. This was the second time I have used this company that I had chosen before using Angie's list. The only problem encountered was the installation was delayed a day.

They replaced it the same day I called. They were fast and efficient. The only negative thing I have to say was there were a few shard's of glass on the window ledge. Other than that they were great.

No real surprises. Jay kept good communication, which was important. The only thing that I would do differently in the future is get some more quotes to be insure I got a fair price.

I am satisfied with the work performed. The first mirror had to be removed immediately due to a scratch made during the installation. The company was cooperative in installing a 2nd mirror. There is a little gap between one corner of the mirror and the wall that I believe is the result of the glue left on the wall from the first installation. Not a perfect installation.

They were very knowledgeable and friendly; they discussed all of our options and showed us different sorts of glass types for the door. They even called back the next day to give us an update (lower) to the original quote. The quote was expensive, but it seemed competitive based on our other research.

Very responsive. Returned message and followed up as promised. Work was done when promised. Excellent job.

They're a great company. I scheduled an appt. for the following day. They were punctual, amiable, and professional. They completed the job in less than 1 hour and gave me other ideas to help me with the upkeep of my home.

Very congenial and accommodating. Explained what I needed to pick up and assisted my son in placing it in his truck.

THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT THEY PROMISED. A GREAT EXPERIENCE AFTER TWO FAILED ATTEMPTS WITH OTHER COMPANIES.

Lone Star Glass answered my call promptly & followed up readily with an estimate & installation. They couldn't explain the specific reason why the seals on these double pane windows were broken & how to stop the drafts. The installation was scheduled as soon as the glass was ready & the installers were on time. They did not seal them good because there was a 1/4 inch gap at the top of the windows. The seal around the windows is loose & they didn't clean up very good, as they left broken glass scattered about.

Lone Star Glass repaired our mirror that fell in our dining room. The service was very fast (one day) and they were very pleasant to deal with. It appears to be family operated.
