Description of Work: The treatment went well, but they did not deliver at the stated price. They billed be for a price increase for the final treatment even though I paid in advance, and they "went ahead and treated" the home (a rental) i.e. automatic renewal, at the higher rate without contacting me first. I am sure they can handle your situation but be careful of the "one year plan" - there is no guarantee that is all you will pay.

 + -1 moreI enjoyed a straight forward estimate and what would be included on the phone as well as not being pushed into a quaretly pricing and offered the same rate at any time I did decided to do this
Description of Work: I wanted to make sure I was working with a good company who understood how to get german roaches. So far so good have had one adult show up but I think I am still in my time frame for service to be done again. The best was speaking to the owner not being sold packages, the technician did try a little, and a garuntee that if I decided to go quartly the price the price would still be validated.

 + -1 moreMy experience overall was very satisfying. The technician was professional and completed the work in a timely fashion. He explained the issues with the ants and what he was doing to get rid of them. It was informative and also helpful. I appreciated his assistance.
Description of Work: Work was performed during the torrential rain Houston received recently (it was understandable that the technician arrived about 20 minutes late due to flooding in the area). He came to treat fire ants inside the house and around the exterior of the homes. He was professional and listened to my concerns. He did a thorough walk through of the house (even areas that did not have an ant problem) and then treated the outside of the home. Then he came in and treated the problem areas. He also sprayed all over the home with a pesticide that would not hurt humans and pets. I had mud dauber nests around the house (and in the garage) and asked him to remove them but he said, "All I needed to do was remove them with a strong stream from the water hose." He said he would do it, but seemed reluctant to do so. I told him it was okay and that we will do it ourselves. He did recommend the recurring service for an annual basis but was not pushy about it. I declined. He said they would come out for the next month if I continued to see ants. He said give it about 2 weeks for the treatment he applied to work. The service cost around $90. I think this price was a little high but since it seems to have gotten rid of most of the problem (saw a few ants this morning for the first time) I feel it was a fair (not great) price. I would recommend this firm to handle pest control issues. They seem honest.

 + -1 moreI called Hartz when ants invaded our home. The first technician they sent out was an unkempt, could care-less younger guy who really didn't know much about pests. He was polite, however. He had difficulty to explain the contract and service. He went on and on about rodents, which I don't have. He then said the fly population was my fault, and nothing can be done. Within a week of his visit, the pest problem grew. Ants were then coming from our drains in bathrooms and out of the light switch plate holders. I called back, as with the contract, they will come out until the problem is solved. I specifically requested a new technician. They sent the original guy. I refused the service, and called Hartz. They apologized profusely and said it was a scheduling mix up. The next day, Dave came out. He is an expert at bugs and won't stop until they are stopped. He analyzed the problem then tried a few things. The ants came back within a week. I called again, Dave came out and used something else and things were under control. I've just had my second service (every three months) and Dave was on the job. I like Hartz for the following reasons: 1. They pick up the phone. 2. They have a few guys that really know their stuff. 3. Their prices are in range for pest services. Beyond the initial problem with the first technician, I'm happy with Hartz.
Description of Work: Signed annual agreement. Every three months they perform perimeter and normal pest service.

 + -1 moreI came home to discover ants in my pantry, kitchen,and breakfast areas. They had gotten into a lot of my dry goods and were crawling all around on the shelves in my pantry. I also noticed them on my counter top and around the baseboards in my breakfast area. I went on Angie's List, signed up to become a member, I had been hearing about them on tv and thought well this is as good a time as any to try them, see if they really do what they say. So after i signed up, thanks Angie for making that process so smooth and simple, I called several pest control companies. Most of them quoted me higher prices but Hertz told me they could come out the next morning, that's what i wanted to hear. Hertz quoted me a very competitive price, they showed up on time, showed me where the ants were coming from and how to avoid re-entry. They treated the inside and outer perimeter of my home not only for ants but other pest as well. They were fast, professional, knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. They have a customer satisfaction commitment to their services. I was completely satisfied and highly recommend Hartz Pest Control.

 + -1 moreOverall did a great job. Gentleman was courteous and professional. He informed me to call if ants didn't seem to go away after a week. Although they did drastically decrease in number, I was still seeing the occassional black ant so I called them back. The same gentleman came and sprayed and re-assured me that this time should do it. Very thorough with his work. Definately will call again.

They fit me into their schedule that day. Representative surveyed the problem and solved it immediately.. The cost was less than expected.and I was able to resume painting

He did this both inside and outside, where the source of the ants was located. After consideration of our experience with this company, we then decided to enroll in a periodic (every 3 months) program of surveillance and treatment. The total cost ($85) covered this visit and the enrollment in a regular follow-up service.

 + -1 moreWe have been using Hartz for over two years now. The technicians arrive at the house when they are supposed to, so we don't have to wait all morning for them to get there. They are extremely polite and only take twenty to thirty minutes to do the job. We never smell the chemicals used, and all insects have disappeared. We should have called them five years ago.
Description of Work: Hartz Pest Control exterminates all insects. Ants are the major problem, but the treatments kill all household bugs.
