Description of Work: I needed an electric company to install a fan, at Angie's they sent me by email a list of the very good company's, I call this one and I didn't like that they charge by 1/2 an hour; when the rest charge per hour. So I used [Name removed].

Description of Work: I had 3 fluorescent light fixtures that needed new ballasts. Harmony said it was maybe an hour for two workers at $135.00hr + parts. I agreed. According to their own time sheet the work totaled 2.25 hours, but they billed me for 3.25 hours. Also, in addition to add the hours incorrectly, the time that they say on their invoice overstates their actual time on the job..... I sent a check for the parts and what I calculated for the actual labor with a memo explaining why the amount was less. They have not responded and are continuing to invoice me. (I used this company before to install two thermostats and they had two workers and were in the house much longer and charged me less). They asked me when they finished if I wanted to pay then or just have them invoice me. I asked for an invoice and that may be their "cue" to pad the bill.

Description of Work: Installed a new indoor breaker box and outlet in server room. Harmony came out and did the estimate. We got one other quote from another reputable dealer in town and decided to go with Harmony as I preferred to have the circuit run to inside the house (since the security system is hooked up to it). They came out on the promised date and completed most of the job, ran out and got a part for the breaker box that they did not have on the truck, then returned later that day to finish the work. Did a good job replacing the plants that needed dug up to run the line outside, but did not fix the drywall that needed cut to run the wire in to the breaker box (not a service they provide and they did let me know this would be the case, so not a negative for me, although if you need drywall cut, make sure you make arrangements for the ensuing drywall and paint work). Would definitely use these folks again for any future work I need done.

Description of Work: Bishop from Harmony Electric installed 2 Nest Thermostats for me. Coincidentally, when I called they had just finished a job very close by and were over to the house in 15 minutes. They were pleasant, professional, and reasonably priced. I would use them again.

Description of Work: A tree had fallen on our power line and pulled the electric meter a little ways out from the house. The power company fixed the line right away and recommended that we have an electrician look at the box. Fortunately, the power still worked and the power company didn't pull the meter. I called Harmony one afternoon and they were there the next morning at 8:00 am. They said that all that really needed to be done was to replace the straps holding the electrical pipe to the house. So, they did it right away. Very easy to work with. I felt very confident in the abilities. He explained a more thorough option, which would have cost at least twice as much, but didn't try to get me to do something that was necessary. Being in the Heights, they are very familiar with the older homes, such as ours. Finding an electrician that understands the old wiring and is not freaked out about it is great. I expect that we will be using them again in the future.

Description of Work: My property was red-tagged by the city, who has begun inspecting multi-family properties and requiring service and code upgrades. Harmony Electric evaluated the city's requests and requirements, pulled the necessary permits, made all the repairs required by the city, met with the various city inspectors, and satisfied all the requirements.The work was done efficiently and effectively and my property is not in compliance with all current city code requirements.

+ -1 moreWhen called told what needed. No questions were asked of me to clarify the situation. Asked for latest time in day for the appointment since had to take off work. Was given 2:00pm. They came at 3:00pm. First, told couldn't have an outlet within wall due to angle of roof and their tool wouldn't fit. Outlet was placed outside of structure using piping. When completed told had to charge me overtime because it was past 3:00pm. They estimated how long the job would take and said 2:00 was Ok. They didn't give me a heads up that OT might be charged if the job took longer. If they would have asked a few questions to understand the situation in the first place, it time would have taken less time when they came (or they would have the proper tools perhaps). I could also have scheduled it for a different time had I known there might be problems. People doing the the work did a good job. Feel it was a management issue. Used them before & was happy. Very disappointed this time.
