Guardian Windows

Bought a house with old aluminum windows. Went to Angie's List and scheduled appointments with 3 companies to come out and give estimate. Marty happened to be the first of the three. He arrived on time, was friendly and knew what he was talking about. He brought out his heat lamp demo and as much as I tried to say no I didn't want to see it, he insisted. Hum, first warning bell rang because he would not listen to me. Recently for the Pacific NW, double paned windows are a fact of life and I told him so. I didn't need to be persuaded. After some discussion, he went through the house measuring windows. He worked up an immediate estimate of a bit over $10,000 to replace 14 windows. I told him thanks and was ready for him to leave. Then, the pressure began, he pushed very hard for me to order that evening. He would give me a discount down to $7,000. I explained I wanted more than one estimate. More pressure and a "final" offer of $5,800 for the windows if I would order immediately. Again, I declined. Eventually, I got him to leave. Interesting that the initial estimate went from over $10,000 to $5,800 in a matter of an hour! I did not choose to work with his company. I felt too much pressure from him. And, by the way, there are 15 windows in the house not 14 on which he based an estimate!

Marty sent Ron's crew who arrived promptly and got to work immediately. They removed the old windows, 30 year old single-pane aluminum frames, and replaced them with double-pane single-hung vinyl windows. There were 17 windows which included 5 sets of double windows about 6' by 6'. The speed and efficiency of their work was amazing. These guys know what they are doing and they do it well. My questions and concerns were answered and their patience with me was appreciated. Everything in the house near the work areas was covered as they worked and clean up was thorough. They showed me how to open the windows for cleaning and how easy the screens are to remove if I need to do so. I still can't believe they finished as quickly as they did. I have already showed the windows to several neighbors and highly recommend Guardian Windows to anyone thinking about replacement windows. Marty's company installed a product even better than I expected. The difference in the atmosphere of my home is impressive. The windows block out not only the sun's heat but the outside noises as well. The windows from the outside look a bit tinted and reflective, but inside the light shines through clear and bright. I no longer need to cover them and live in a cave! I intend to call Marty when I replace my old French doors in the kitchen. Anyone thinking about replacement windows should call Marty and give him an opportunity to show you what a great product he has in Guardian Windows.

Holy cow. What a top notch organization! Windows were ordered. Delivered on the day they promised, and installed on the day promised. They were 5 minutes early at 7AM! In and out in about 3 hours. Prompt. Clean. Courteous. Did I say clean? And the new windows look amazing. Good job guys! Thanks so much!

I was looking for a replacement front door and the guy was awesome. Basically, we had these doors which had a very specific type of lock that were very unique. Local locksmiths could not fix them. I ended up calling the national company of the locks and got their distributor which is Guardian Doors. The receptionist was very helpful and left a number with one of their repair technitions who called me back within the hour. He came out and basically told me that these were not the doors and windows that Guardian put in and he wasn't sure if he could help me. I was about to panic and then the guy said let me see what I can do. It turns out the doors weren't hung properly. He spent 2 hours rehanging 6 doors, putting in new cylinders and charged me $95.00 I can not say enough good things. Even if you were thinking about buying new doors or windows, I would get a quote from them because I was so impressed with how quickly they answered my call, how thorough they were. The technition was so honest, prompt, basically, I was in a jam and he could have litterally said I don't do these kinds of doors. He had a used cylinder in his truck which he used that worked in my door, didn't charge me for it, I can not say enough good things. If this is how they support somebody, I can't image how they treat people that have their own products. I thought they were beyond reasonable with price. I have Happs doors with the very high end locking mechanism.

We had 10 windows replaced. They were single paned, and no screens. They measured twice. We paid a deposit. Windows were ordered, and delivered ahead of time. On the day of installation, the crew arrived early. Immediately got to work. They functioned great as a crew. Walls and floors were protected. They cleaned as they went. My new double paned, tinted, argon filled windows were installed flawlessly. I paid the balance due and they ere on their way.

Upon high recommendation from Angie's list I called Guardian as my top choice based on selected recent reviews. I talked with the owner and one of the technicians. Both promised to call back and schedule appointment but eventually nobody called back. Well, I called again and again a very nice person who really did not want any details on the work needed to be done asked for the phone number and never called back. Not much respect for the customer. Perhaps the reason for lack of response was the fact that I mentioned that I wanted to replace only one window. I surely do not recommend Guardian.

We had a wonderful experience. Marty gave us what we thought to be a fair quote on our job. The "A" team arrived on time each day of the installation. The entire crew acted as a finely tuned machine. They were a pleasure to have work in our home. If only all company's were as pleasant and professional to work with as the team at Guardian Windows.

The estimate went well. I was given a lot of options for my 40 year old home. I was very happy with my quality of windows. I liked that the windows were made to order in Houston. The crew had been working together for years and are very efficient. I did have to wait about 4 weeks due to the demand for these windows. This company does not sub contract and these guys knew their stuff. They were very good with my dogs and let me know when they needed access to certain area of the house.

If you're looking for the A-Team in replacing windows then Marty the owner of Guardian Windows is the one to go with. Marty and Ron know what they are doing being they have been replacing windows since the mid 80's. Ron and his crew arrived 10 minutes before their 7am schedule, they ran into two problems but knowing the tricks of the trade the issues were resolved quickly. After installing 10 windows in four hours they offered to help move the heavy bed back in place. I cannot recommend Guardian windows highly enough, they are professional and know what they are doing.

Marty was great to work with. David and his crew installed windows and were wonderful the entire time they were here. They were very polite and worked with us and our baby's nap time schedule. Thanks so much!

The windows arrived before the expected date! The installers were here on time both mornings and were very professional. It was a big job but it was a painless experience for me as a homeowner.

Marty came to my home to provide an estimate. He brought a sample window to show me the quality of the product he sold. I was most amazed by his heat lamp demonstration. He put the heat lamp against my current windows and I was immediately able to feel the heat it generated through the window. Next, he put the heat lamp against his double pane windows and I could feel no heat at all. At that point I new I would be getting new windows. Marty walked through the house to get a general size estimate on each window. He quoted me $5800 for 11 windows, with installation. I provided him with the downpayment and he ordered the windows. He told me it would be a month, but three weeks later he called to tell me the windows were ready to install. I set up the appointment and his crew came on the agreed upon day. The crew was very friendly. They did a great job of quickly getting the old windows out and installing the new ones. I have security alarms in the windows and they were able to work around those. When the alarm company came out to hook the alarm back up they were impressed that none of the wires had been pinched, which would have resulted in me paying much more to have a wireless system installed. The crew finished much faster than I anticipated and cleaned up everything. I didn't find one piece of glass when I went through the rooms. They were also nice to my dog, who was very curious about the whole process. I would highly recommend Guardian Windows to anyone.

We got three quotes from three different companies and decided to go with Guardian. Their quote was slightly below the others, but the quality of the Showcase windows impressed us. Also, we found the guy doing the quote to be very knowledgeable and he didn?t try to upsell us into more expensive windows. We wanted mid-grade windows with excellent efficiency, since we were replacing 34 windows. Showcase windows had the best ratings in terms of energy efficiency (appropriate U-Factor and SHGC for the deep south, as Houston is considered). Another BIG PLUS is that he has a crew that has worked for him for YEARS. He doesn?t subcontract out or pick up some random laborers from outside a local hardware store. Guardian is bonded and insured, too. The windows were ordered and came in about a week or two sooner than expected, which was nice. Guardian was able to come out that same week and start the install. They said they would be there at 7am and by golly they were there 10-15 minutes early for the three-day install. Talk about PROMPT! We have HardiePlank siding and had just painted some rooms, so the guys were trying to be extra careful. (BTW, I do NOT advise painting first. We completely did things out of a logical order, but then again we weren?t expecting to replace the windows so soon). Like it or not, tearing out existing windows and installing new ones does cause some cosmetic damage to sills/frames/siding... the idea is to minimize that damage. Think about it for a second and you?ll realize it?s gotta be impossible to not have some scratches, scuffs or paint-chipping when you?re tearing out old windows. Lucky for us, the damage was minimal because they were so careful, and we fixed it easily with some spackle/joint compound and touch-up painting the window sills. Anyway, the installers saved us from a disaster when they noted that the bricks were just "sitting on top" of an unusual, diagonal-shaped window that we have. It seems the original builder got lazy and just allowed the window to support the bricks, as opposed to installing what is known as a lental (a thin metal support piece placed on top of windows and then the bricks sit on that). Thankfully the window guys noticed it, so my bricks didn't cave in when they removed the window and they held up the bricks with their arms while removing/installing the window. Overall, we are very happy with our windows. The difference in the temperature and noise is unbelievable. Our neighbors have all commented about how fantastic the windows look and I have referred several of them to Guardian. Can?t wait to see the difference in our AC bill this summer!

I read many reviews on Angie's list, for replacement windows, and called Marty at Guardian Windows. I had had met with one other window person who did not impress me. The owner, Marty and I met the day after my call and we counted the windows, ( several times) , and agreed on a price. I made a downpayment and a day or two later, David who was with the job from start to finish, measured all the windows. The windows were custom made here in TX, but were ready in a week or two and send to my home. David and his assistant Joseph, removed all my old windows and installed all the new ones except for a very large picture window which had to be custom made for the bathroom in 2 days time. All debris was removed each day and the whole process was essentially painless. David and Joseph do high quality, professional work, and don't take any short cuts to get the job done. Marty and his team of David and Joseph really go the extra mile. They went to the hardward store to match paint where several of my window sills had water damage and repaired them, and they also replaced some wood that had water damage rather then just installing a new window on several of the windows. In addition, when I was not happy with some dents on the siding around the window trim in back of the house after the windows had been completely installed, Marty contacted a separate aluminum siding contractor to completely replace the decorative trim around the window. I think if it's a quality window installation you're looking for, Guardian windows is the right company. There may be others, but this was my experience. I should note I did not price shop for window replacements The windows from Guardian appear to be very high quality and have reduced the noise level in my home condiderably and seem to have reduced the dust. I anticipate the utility costs will also be reduced, so anticipate the actual cost savigs may be here.

lOur experience with Guardian Windows and it's representatives was great right from the start. Marty came out to give us an estimate and showed up at the exact time he said he would. He was very curtious and took his time to explain all the options that we had. We made our decision and Marty said he thought he would be able to start the job within three weeks. In less than three weeks our new windows were going in. The guys that come out to put in our windows were fantastic. They called the morning that they were coming out to let us know they would arrive within the hour and sure enough they did. Ron and his crew were very curtious and very professional. They explained what they were going to do and took the time to answer any questions that I had. As they finished a window they were cleaning up before they had the next window out. I could sing there praises all day but the bottom line is that if you want a great job done by a great crew, go with Guardian Windows.

We contacted Marty for a bid for new windows for the downstairs portion of our house. Marty arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. After measuring the windows he demonstrated the windows which he installs. He then gave quotes for both the downstairs and for all windows. The quote was so low that we opted for a complete replacement of all our windows. A few days later when payment was arranged, we scheduled the installation for the second week of January 2013. The crew arrived on time and started working without any delay. What impressed me most about Ron and his crew was their professionalism and how they worked non-stop from the time they arrived until the time they left each day. They also cleaned up after themselves every day. You can tell that they have been in this business for a very long time. Since we have a house with water issues, some damage was found on the window frames and siding. Ron referred me to a siding contractor, who was excellent as well, and between them they came up with a better, lower cost method of repairing the siding. There were a couple of delays in the installation but that was due to a problem with the manufacturer and I wouldn?t blame Guardian for that. They worked with me to finish the job in the shortest amount of time and the windows are absolutely beautiful.

I met with the owner on a Saturday in order to get an estimate. He showed me different styles and options and we settled on the higher end model due to the size of the opening. The windows took about 3 weeks to manufacture and installation was done in a few hours. Great job and there was no mess left behind. I highly recommend this company.

I wanted to replace the windows in the kitchen. Asked around and was told by a person in the windows business to contact Guardian. I gave them a call and Marty came out and gave me a demo of the various styles and types and quoted pricing. I purchased the windows and about 2 weeks later they called to ask if the following day was ok to do the install. They showed up the following morning at the agreed time and began work immediately. They covered everything up with drop cloths as well as the floor. They clean up as they go and had the four windows installed and all areas cleaned up in about 3 1/2 hours. I plan to replace more window in the future and will be going back to Guardian for them.

Overall this was a great experience. Do use this company. They are top notch. From time Marty sat down and gave us a price on the replacement windows til they were delivered was on time.We have had our (14) guardian windows for only a week but the difference from the old 28 year old single pane is unbelievable. We don't have that cool feeling when you pass or stand at the window now. Also they have made the house quieter from outside noise. Marty knew his product well and came up with the perfect windows for our house. Windows shipped when promised.Delivered on Friday and installed on Saturday as promised. Ron and his team of 3 total men worked timely and outstanding to get the windows removed and installed quickly. All demoed was cleaned up as they went form window to window. No signs that they were here other than the new windows installed. They started at about 730 am. and finished around 1 pm. Only had a problem with the two windows at front of the house that had small scratches in the tempered glass that Ron pointed out right away. He made phone call to Marty and had new ones on order. Have not been called yet to have them installed but as said earlier it has only been a week. I would strongly recomend Marty, Ron and his crew to everyone. These guys are great. Gregory G.

The installers were professional in every way and courteous and polite at all times...really nice hard-working guys! They worked from a little before 7:00 am until 3:00 pm with only very short breaks and completed the job in one day. They have the installation down to a science...preparation of the area, removing the old windows and installing the new ones. Everything was thoroughly cleaned up before they left. They went that extra mile to be sure that everything was done correctly and did a couple of extra things along the way to be sure the job was top notch. My new windows are just wonderful, and I love the way they look. They make such a difference in the inside and outside appearance of my house. I would definitely use Guardian again and highly recommend them to anyone. Amazing job by both Marty and his crew!

Called Angie's List to recommend some window companies. Called Guardian to schedule the appoitment. They came out and replaced the window and they did a wonderful job.

They are great and I give them A's for everything. I will use them again in the future.

The estimate was provided quickly and included details of the windows to be used and the work to be done. We were also given good advice on the windows to use -good in that we like the product used and how it looks. We were asked for a downpayment (about 38% of the total) after which we were kept informed as to when the windows were ready, they were delivered in advance -we were told when to expect them- and then on the set day the crew arrived and began work soon after 7am. They were very efficient and the whole job was completed the same morning. There was minimal disruption for us- all trash was hauled away and blinds were reinstalled. I felt my windows were being replaced by people who knew exactly what they were doing and so made everything appear very simple. I appreciated that I was kept informed throughout and that the time I had to wait was actually a little less than was expected. This was a good experience!
