Very pleased with job done. Plaster did crack but it was in the same spot it was cracked before they did their work and I was warned it could come back.

I don't normally write reviews but after our outstanding experiences with Express there was no way I could not. Every single interaction we had with Veronica was over the top. She could quite literally make an excellent living teaching customer service courses, she's really that good. The crews each showed up when promised and cleaned up when they left. The end result is sensational. Our pool looks far better than we anticipated and we had pretty high expectations. We couldn't be happier.

We received estimates for repair and agreed to the service. I did not get any other estimates so I don't know about average costs for this type of work. The price and repair date was okay for me. Everything went as planned. There were 4 workers and the job was completed quickly with no mess. The pool was drained about 6 inches below the crack to allow the work to be done. They seemed experienced, like this was a routine job. I experienced excellent service overall.
Description of Work: Repaired 6 foot area of pool wall cement cracked. After repair, replastered area and retiled.

I called and left a voice mail and was contacted promptly the next morning. They sent someone to our home and left some literature with pool surface options and also sent us an estimate via email (which was great for me). We scheduled for April 19 and 20, 2013 for the the work (we were having our pool re-plastered). The first day, Friday was for the workman to drain the pool, chip away plaster from the edges, drains, lights, etc. and prepare the surface for the new plaster. The crew arrived at 7:50 in the morning and immediately began working. By Early Afternoon they had completed the first day of the two day process and advised us the other crew would be here in the morning (Saturday) as previously scheduled by me to complete the job. Saturday morning only one man showed up and he stated he was only going to re-set a couple of loose stones on the top of the spa (we had this in the estimate) but the others would not be here to complete the job (plastering) until the next day, Sunday. The crew showed up on Sunday and completed the job. Pros: They showed up Cleaned up after each day Cost for plastering ( pool and spa approx 45000 gallons) reasonable Cons: Set their own schedule without alerting me (came on Sunday instead of scheduled Saturday) I didn't like having work done at my home on Sunday and had to change some plans I had for the day (family and church). I would recommend the company without reservations as I am overall very impressed with how competent and fast they were. My only disappoint and recommendation to the company would be to communicate with the customer when there are changes in the schedule to see if the change is acceptable.

When you are dealing with Express Pool Plastering you are dealing with the entire family. From Veronica in the office, Julio who designs and sells and Gabriel who manages the crew it was clear that this is a company who cares about making the customer satisfied. Even the father, although ?retired?, came over several times to inspect and make sure the quality was good enough to have the family name. We expected the job to take two to three weeks, but were pleasantly surprised when it was finished in 9 days. While the pool was draining no time was wasted, they were tearing up the old deck and building the frames for the new decking. Once the water was out they started sanding, scraping and preparing the finish for the new plaster. The old tile had to be removed and they replaced with new tile creating a beautiful pattern with decorative tiles. We had found pictures of water walls we?d liked, but Julio designed one that fit our pool and surroundings perfectly. He even incorporated the deco tiles from the pool into the wall to tie it all together. We chose to replace the cement coping with flagstone and Gabriel and his crew did an amazing job of piecing the flagstone to create a wonderful mosaic. To create the new patio and walkway they had to tear up an existing garden and move the underground drainage. The final result is better than we ever imagined. The pool area is a cohesive harmony of colors with more useable space than we had before and by adding additional handrails and lights the area is more usable for our family too.
Description of Work: Completely resurfaced our old pool, replace all tile and coping. Replaced pool light and railing. Installed new waterwall feature. Removed decking around pool and poured new concrete and covered with Cooldecking surface, added new patio and walkway.

The managers (owners) provided their cellphone because the office would be closed during prep work. No need. The workmen were energetic, serious, and focused on doing the work---on point at all times. Express pool was the lowest price with the best credentials. Provided guidance to direct us to an efficient solution. There are no negatives. 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: Husband and wife sell and manage the business. Other family members work on the project. Came out to survey the work , re-plastering pool, the day after I called. Returned an estimate that afternoon. Began the job on Saturday (4 days later). Completed the work on Monday (1 week after my initial call).

Express Pools orginally replastered and tiled our pool a a year ago but it seemed that the plaster had some issues. We were impressed with how Express Pools continued to stand by their workmanship. Not only did Express Pools continue to work on the issue but have replastered our pool when the previous repairs did not leave us satisfied with the product. The customer service and caring attitude made us very happy that we choose Express Pools for our project and we are completely satisfied with the final outcome.

Sorry, I already typed the overall. We had a total new pool put in except for digging the hole, and the plumbing. Our pool was 11 years old, and they replastered, added new tiles, matching the ones we already had. They removed the stones from around 1/3 of the pool, as there was a crack around 1/3 of our pool. It look wonderful!!!!!!
Description of Work: We had a rocky start after my husband and I gave them the contract. However, they are prompt in returning calls and responding to all issues. It is family owned and I would use them again for sure!!!!! One other thing. This was a big repair. I tried for three years to get someone out to give us a quote, and bring stone samples. It just didn't happen. They came out the next day!, Dianna Gittelman

I called Veronica at the number listed, she listened patiently to my Spa issue (loose coping) and explained to me that repair of my type was not their forte. However, she spent 5 minutes giving me 3 great leads for the exact repair I wanted, and one of those companies was able to help me!! THANK YOU EXPRESS POOL AND SPA!! Great help!

They ran a little late for the appointment, but did call to let me know they'd be late. When they finished the job, they didn't let me know they were finished or provide feedback on the work or a bill. They just left without speaking to me. I felt this was a bit unprofessional. I had the call to get an invoice. They did give me a discount because of the bad service so I feel they made up for their error. All in all, the work was good and I would use the company again.

The negotiations were easy, the workers were prompt, polite and quick. We had a small area that needed to be redressed a couple weeks after they finished and they came right out and fixed it, no questions, no problems.
Description of Work: We had our pool replastered with a pebble finish versus plaster. Express Pool Plastering drained the pool, removed the old plaster, installed the new surface and refilled the pool. They do not provide the acid cleaning, brushing and eventual neutralizing service you need to do to finish the surface but will provide you all of the details on how to do it yourself or who to contact to have it done. We did the service ourselves and it worked out fine. Important - Decide ahead of time which way you want to go and plan accordingly. IF you do it yourself you need to commit to the time required to brush the pool regularly in order to get the beautiful pool you just spent a bunch of money on. For the Pebble surface there are different instructions than plaster. You need to add a metal out/staintreat product and acid then after a time, neutralize. The instructions provided are written by a chemical company pushing their products so they list their name brands and tell you specifically not to use Soda Ash to neutralize at the end - use xxxxxxxx®. I contacted the company's local sales rep to find out why. They were very helpful and based on that conversation we used soda ash as we normally would to neutralize and our results were fine. Note: There default contract does not have a clause that they are responsible for problems if the pool rises once it is empty, but they happily added that clause.

Excellent service from start to finish. Estimate provided by email the same day the rep came out. Day 1 crew came out and drained the pool and did all prep work in just a few hours. Day 2 the plaster crew completed all work in less than 4 hours. Very polite, professional, absolutely meticulous about clean up - except for the great looking plaster finish you would never know they were here. Highly recommend to anyone needing re-plastering work done.

Express Pool Plastering was quick to set up an appointment, they were very easy to work with, they were professional, detailed, informative and emailed a quote quickly after their visit. Their prices were very competitive and their quote was easy to understand. They were quick to answer questions about the quote as well. We wound up using another pool company ONLY because of our very tight budget, but Express Pool Plastering was the company we felt 100% confident with doing an excellent job and we would have gone with them if our budget could have stretched just a little more.

I'm a fairly difficult customer to deal with because I prefer working via email. Marisol from Express Pool Replastering had the patience of an angel and the diligence of a tax accountant in helping me set up this project. The services were performed by 3 teams over 3 work days. Day 1 found team 1 draining the pool, removing the old tile/coping (and stacking it up on the patio), chipping out faulty plaster, cleaning the plaster with acid, and applying multicoat as a bonding agent. I was somewhat unhappy at this point in the project since some multicoat ended up on the wall of the garage. Day 2 involved the coping/tile team who did an amazingly fast and quality job applying tile and coping. They also removed the old tile/coping. Between work day 2 and 3, one employee came out to repaint the garage wall and apply deck sealant. Day 3 involved the plaster team applying the new plaster, applying acid etching, and setting the pool to refill. Overall, I'm very happy with the job. There are 4 issues with this experience which I would cite to future customers. First, pick your tile/coping in person. I'm a fan of email, but brochures do not adequately convey what a tile/coping/plaster will look like. That said I'm very happy with what I chose. Second, my pool took 2 days to fill, during which showers and dishwashing was somewhat affected--plan accordingly. Third, pay attention to the first team (the demo team). If you fear acid or other chemicals ending up on your surfaces/plants, take steps to protect them (or ask them to). Fourth, ask for a work schedule. I was never sure what day or time of day to expect the crews. Here is how my schedule worked out: Saturday: 8:30am (Team 1) Monday: 9:00am (Team 2) Tuesday: 12:00pm (One employee-paint touch up, deck sealant) Wednesday: 7:30am (Team 3) Friday afternoon: Pool filled Saturday: Pool startup begins (chlorine, stabilizer, filter cleaning) Note: Different company Sunday: More pool startup (brushing, vacuuming) Monday: More brushing/vacuuming) Tuesday: More brushing/vacuuming/chemicals) Friday: Pool ready to swim in That's about 2 weeks total.
Description of Work: Pool was drained. Old tile and coping was removed and replaced. Plaster was chipped around input lines, prepped with acid and multi-coat, then replaced.

Express Pool did an excellent job for us. They were very responsive, coming out within a few days after our call and sending the estimate a day later. We went to their office to obtain more information regarding tile choices, coping options and plaster options. Marisol was extremely helpful in answering our questions, providing us literature and advising us of a summer special on an upgraded plaster option if the material was still available when we signed the contract (Express Pool had a set amount of plaster material on hand and once it was gone then the summer special was no longer available). Later that same day she provided us with a revised estimate that included the additional options we asked about and also provided a reference list that we requested. Their price was up to 20% less than other bids we had received. In addition, they were willing to work with us on timing of the work as we could not start the work for ~6 weeks. Express Pool also provided a name of a company that would provide start-up service if we wanted to contract with them (a service we did contract for and felt it was well worth the money). Express Pool workers arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. At the end of each day, they took the time to hose down the pool area and driveway, cleaning up the entire work area. The tile and coping work was excellent. The pool plaster, whcih was a light blue quartz, looked good initially. However, during the acid start-up it was very streaked. The start-up company called Express Pool about the plaster. Gabriel (from Express) came out, looked at it and agreed that the pool needed to be drained and the plaster needed to be acid washed again. The work was scheduled for a few days later. Gabriel performed the acid wash himself. The result was an excellent pool plaster finish. We are extremely pleased with the results and would highly recommend Express Pool.

We visited the Express Pools facility on Lauder Road to pick our tile and plaster color. In order to get the plaster color we wanted, they custom-mixed some samples until we found just the right color. Their offer was the second lowest out of four bids we received. They were very responsive to our questions and explained the entire replastering process in detail. The job started on the day they said and, with the weather cooperating, was completed right on time. The company owner came out each day to monitor and check on the work. Once the work was completed, we paid for the plaster start-up and conditioning which was ~$500. This was money well-spent because of the man-hours involved in brushing, cleaning, and conditioning the new plaster during the month after the work was completed. We recommend that anyone getting a replaster pay for the start-up.
Description of Work: Replaster pool (15' x 31' x 8' deep rectangle pool) and spa (6' diameter), replace all tile around pool and spa, install two steps in existing spa, and add two hand rails on spa.
