Description of Work: They fixed lawn mower, brought it home. It ran rough and stopped working when I had to turn it off to move something. Brought it back and he cut the choke lever off. He started it up and it ran great. Again took it home and it seemed there were no issues. It stopped working after i stopped and started it a times. Ended up buying a new mower.

Description of Work: After someone with no lawnmower maintenance experience did some big no-no's when attempting tonchange the oil on the push mower, it would not start. I have limited knowledge if small engine repair, but i replaced the oil filter, the spark plug, and cleaned the carburetor. After it still would not start, i was at my wit's end. I looked up this place, called, and was thankful they were open on Saturday until 5pm. They told me free diagnostic, so i drove all the way across town to see them. When i arrived and told them i thought it was the gasket, Eddie smiled and i could tell he was wondering what a girl like myself knew about gaskets and such. They were busy, but willing to look at it next, so i returned in an hour. He told me i did a good job, and that it was the gasket, which he replaced and it started up just fine. I asked him how much i owed, and to my surprise, he said 'nothing.' To me, this is honest business and anytime i EVER have small engine problems again, inwont hesitate to drive across town to see them.

Description of Work: Brought in my pressure washer. They replaced a wheel and rebuilt my carbeurator for $45. It was completely corroded having sit with a full tank of gas for about a year. I was flabbergasted at the price and the work was outstanding. Saved me $80 on a new carbeurator. Agree with other reviews that it is in a terrible part of town, but the guys there are really friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend. I drove 25 miles there and would do it again.

 + -1 moreI drove to the shop, he unloaded my lawnmower, and said he would look at it. He looked me right in the eye and smiled, lol even though he was covered with grease. I agree with the previous submitter who stated it was in a less than desirable part of town. There were already 4 vehicles in line in the U shaped driveway, either unloading or picking up their mowers. I figured it would take about a week or two considering how busy they were. Engines were running everywhere. I was driving home after running a short errand and my phone rang. They said my lawnmower was finished, had a carburetor problem and I could come and pick it up. I rushed back to the shop and started it up before leaving, and it has run like a top ever since. I have started and operated it three times since. How refreshing to get good, quick and inexpensive service!!

 + -1 moreThis was one of the most hassle free experiences with a contractor I have ever had. These guys were just great. Our pressure washer had not had a tune-up in 5 years and was running pretty rough. It was time to do something, but my work is keeping me really tied up and no time to hunt down a reputable lawn mower repair shop, take the machine over, and then go back to pick it up. I found Dand S on Angieslist. I took it over to them in the middle of rush hour. Since it only needed a check up, new spark plug, oil and filter change, they did it right there and then so I would not have to slog back over from the Galleria area. It took them 10 minutes and they only charged me $30 including labor and parts. That's pretty amazing. I was really grateful and threw in an extra $10 to show gratitude. Another shop on West Mount Houston wanted $35 in labor alone just to look at the machine and then more money for labor and parts. Dand S is located on Aldine Mail Route Rd between I-45 and Hardy Toll Road so they are easy to get to. The place is owned by brothers Eddie and Eric. They have obviously been there for a very long time and the neighborhood consists mostly of car repair and tire shops. But you should not let that put you off. These guys are pro's. I like them a lot and am very grateful for how well they treated me.

 + -1 moreThe lawnmower was ready within 72 hours and runs like new. It certainly appears that D and S has saved me the need to purchase a new lawnmower.
Description of Work: The transmission on my 10 year-old lawnmower went out. Eddie at D & S told me that the engine is running fine and that rebuilding the transmission would run $75; he also recommended that, at a cost of $35, I put new tires on the front end of the lawnmower to improve the traction.
