Description of Work: I contacted the firm online to request an estimate for some safety railings. I heard back promptly asking if I could send some pictures which I did that same day. After waiting a couple of days, I contacted them again and asked if they had an interest in performing the work. Took almost a week to get a response but evidently their server was down. I will give them another chance. Emillio came out and gave me a quote which is fair and will do the work next week. I will report back after that and let you know how it goes.

Description of Work: The keypad outside my automatic driveway gate stopped working. I found out on Thursday night when I got home from work. The guy who cuts my grass had left a note that he could not get into the back yard because when he punched in the code on the key pad the gate would not open. The next day, Friday morning April 15, 2011, I called the first name on the Angie's list for "Fencing - (driveway gate)" and spoke with a guy named Jack. Jack informed me that I had to go find out information about the key pad. I was at work and needed the gate fixed. He refused to go look at the key pad unless I first gave him information about the key pad. Jack was very non-responsive to my needs. I terminated my conversation with Jack and then turned to Custom Security Fence & Ironworks. I also found them on Angie's List. I spoke with Emilio and he sent a technician to my house that morning, fixed the gate and left an invoice for $195 in my mail box. The gate now works wonderfully. Emilio and Custom Security Fence & Ironworks were prompt, efficient, professional and reasonable.

 + 0 moreThe first representative that answered my call told me the service charge for coming out was $75. I needed to get the model number off of the unit so I called back the next day, got a different person and was told the service charge would be $95. He honored the original quote and I gave the representative my contact information. Without calling first, a technician came to my house. I was not home but my cleaning lady let him it. He apparently did something because the operator does seem to be more responsive. The only clue I had that he came out was a bill for $75 left in my mailbox with no description of the work performed. I had to call back into the office to find out from a third person that the technician made minor adjustments to the operator.
Description of Work: Service call to look at my automatic gate operator. The operator was becoming increasingly less responsive to remote commands.

 + -1 moreOverall, the experience was very good. The office staff was somewhat unprofessional and could improve customer service skills. I was skeptical at first, as our sales-person, Augustin was initially late for our first appointment, but once he arrived, he was very patient working with us to ensure the end product was what we wanted. The work was done a little late due to bad weather, however, the office was good about contacting us and rescheduling. The quality and workmanship is excellent. We would hire them again.
Description of Work: Design, build and install 1-11ft Iron Breezeway fench, with 1 3 -Ft. Pedestrian Walk Gate. Tear down and haul off existing wood gate, including 2 core drills to remove old and install new gate.

 + -1 moreThe estimate was fair for the work performed & the job was completed in a timely manner, despite finding a concrete retaining wall at the base of the fence that we did not know existed. The original wood posts had been set into this concrete. The Lozanos figured out a way to work around the concrete wall without additional expense. This job resulted in a strong, attractive fence that meets our needs & our budget. We are very pleased with the work & would have no hesitation recommending Custom Security Fence to our friends & family. The workmen were polite & cleaned up after the job, & Mr. Lozano, Jr. & Sr., were responsive to our calls, & gave us exactly the fence that we needed.
Description of Work: Tore down & hauled off double-high wooden fence sections that had been damaged by a micro-burst in a thunderstorm. Replaced 64 feet of 10 foot high fence with treated boards, including two 1-foot high horizontal baseboards, attaching them with metal flanges & screws to steel posts for maximum strength & stability.

 + -1 moreThe salesperson was very nice, and the bid was competitive. I thought he was honest, and he recommended that we get another bid to compare. The workers, though, do not clean up after themselves and there are some cracks in the brick column they haven't seen yet. There's no supervision at all for the workers, and there are always different people doing it. The people who did the measurements didn't take them accurately, and they blame each other. The price was fair.
Description of Work: Hired them to put up an iron fence and gate along the driveway.

I liked it because he kept in touch with me & I didn't have to make phone calls. The installers did a great job & were very polite. I would definitely use this company again.  + -1 moreIF YOU WANT WROUGHT IRON DONE WELL, CALL THESE GUYS. BE PREPARED AND KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. DRIVE AROUND AND TAKE PICTURES OF WHAT YOU LIKE. I SKETCHED OUT MY DESIGNS AND FAXED THEM TO HIS OFFICE. ANTONIO THEN FABRICATED AN EXAMPLE AND BROUGHT IT OUT TO OUR HOME. WROUGHT IRON DOES NOT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE PAINTED BLACK AND SHOULD BE PRIMED. POWDER COATING BY COMPARISON IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
Description of Work: FABRICATED AND INSTALLED 2 WROUGHT IRON PATIO ENCLOSURES AND 4 WROUGHT IRON WINDOW COVERS ON OUR WESTU HOME. ANTONIO PLASCENCIA WAS MY MAIN CONTACT AND SUPERVISED THE WORK INSTALLATION. THE WORKMANSHIP, INSTALLATION AND QUALITY WAS NOTHING SHORT OF SUPERB! ANTONIO WORKED WITH ME ON THE DESIGN, COLOR AND WAS ABLE TO PULL A WORK PERMIT IN WESTU, WHICH IS NO SMALL FEAT. THE WORK WAS PROMPT BUT DELAYED BY THE HURRICANE RITA. WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.
