I called the company based on past positive experience with electrical and foundation repair. A/C not so good. Salesman came out to look at it, and said I would receive an e-mail in a few days with a bid. Nothing. I called the company to remind them. Week went by. Still nothing. I called again. I said "I am very busy, I just want to know if you want to sell me an air conditioner. Please do not have someone call me to promise to get on it, etc., just e-mail me the bid please." Later that day a different person from the company calls and leaves a message saying to call him back. I call him back shortly thereafter and no answer, have to leave a message. Never heard from them again (except that they sent me an advertising postcard).

When I called for an appointment, I asked about a quote and was told they did not give quotes over the phone. When the service man arrived and asked what had to be done, he looked in a binder and got a "standard" quote. So why couldn't they give me a quote on the phone??? $257 to replace a bathroom faucet provided by me, which took less than 20 minutes to do. Serviceman said the P-trap would break when installing the new drain - so $171 more for less than 25 min of work. Then he said the hot water pipe was rusted and should be replaced. I declined as this was getting to be too expensive a job. He took another 10 min to prepare my bill. Will never use them again for simple jobs. They are too expensive - $428 for less than an hours work! No wonder there are jokes about plumber's prices.

With my unit pulled apart, the sales/service man standing over me with little opportunity to review and/or compare prices for this work. When done, I had to pay immediately and only received a receipt by e-mail, after he had gone. We have had Church Services service our AC/Heating units, as well as plumbing, continuously and exclusively since 2007 and I have previously recommended this company to others. We were told the company had a new investor/owner around the first of the year and the management change is showing. While the serviceman was here, he also wanted to sell me another annual maintenance plan, but having unexpectedly shelling out almost $500 for unplanned work, this plan was then "billed" to me in March. The "bill" carried a steep increase and inexplicable increase from prior years (which is no longer competitive with other providers on Angie's list and the area). With over 9 years of being a steady and loyal customer I called to ask about this. I was promised a manager would call. I did not hear back and a week later I called again and was told the increase was due to them increasing their discount on the maintenance plan services from 10% to 15% although my bill for the $500 of work allegedly contained a 15% discount. I was once again promised that a manager would call and have not heard from them. The emailed invoice for work done contains a note "exceeding your expectation is our goal so if we have not, please call us and let us know." Obviously you can call, but it appears there is no intent to respond and a shame that existing customers do not appear to be worth their effort.

Summary: Church Services recommended replacing an expensive part that was not even broken. They did not take time to properly diagnose the system and went with an expensive and completely wrong solution. Their "fix" in fact would have still left the system broken. Details: Church Services came in to diagnose a malfunctioning HVAC system. After poking around for a little while, they diagnosed the issue as a burnt out circuit board on the furnace that was completely fried and had to be replaced. They indicated it would be $700+ to replace and would have to come at a later time as the part would need to be ordered. I was told they would call the next day to set up an appointment or if they could not find the part to talk about other options. The next day I called an alternate service provider. I told them that I had a burnt out circuit board that needed to be replaced and requested a quote. They came in to take a look, cleaned some other component on the furnace and it works perfectly now. Did not even need to touch the circuit board which was perfectly fine. Clearly replacing the circuit board as Church Services wanted to do would not have fixed the issue and would have been a waste of time, effort and money. In addition they never bothered to call or followup afterwards.

Patrick had told me that someone would call me about an evaporator coil. Two weeks later I called them. Four phone calls later,they had still not sent a tech to bid the coil on the unit. This was after telling me on one call that the tech would be there that day at 11:30. When I called back the fourth time, I was told that the sales manager was on vacation, or he would have called me. I was also told that the coil could cost as much as a new unit, but they had to look at it first. I told them that I would spend my $3000.00 with a company that knew customer service and the value of it. No one ever reached back out. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Austin was very knowledgeable,knew where to look and was able to determine extent of damage based on view-able area. Provided options for treatment and answered all questions asked. Austin is a very professional and courteous representative .. Church services should be proud to have him working for their company.

Had more extensive work to do on electrical and plumbing side .... their technicians (coincidentally both named Jeremy) did amazing jobs. Also had a brief service for termite control, though not a major service appointment. The termite control technician was knowledgeable and helpful.

Initial prices quoted were exorbitant. Negotiated to get a more reasonable quote. That said, they left without finishing the job, stood me up for the appointment I made to finish the job the next day, and when they came on the third day to finally finish, when it turned out that what was needed was a bit more involved than expected, the tech said he wouldn't have time to do it then so I would have to have them out a 4th time. Not a customer-friendly company, and would not recommend them.

The work was done in a timely manner and to our satisfaction. Unfortunately, the office staff turned this pleasant experience into a not so pleasant experience. Due to a misunderstanding of when payment was due, I didn't give the worker a check when they completed the job. I told him I would mail the check. I had the check ready to drop in the mail on Monday when a very rude woman from Church Services offices called my husband and demanded that he bring the check to their office immediately. When he explained that I was mailing the check that day, this woman again said he needed to bring the check to their office immediately. He ask to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on him. A while later a supervisor called and told my husband they would send someone to pick up the check Wednesday evening (this conversation was on Monday). If they were so anxious to get the check on Monday, why was it then not so necessary to pick it up until Wednesday. If I had mailed it on Monday as planned they would have had it on Tuesday. Anyway, the agreement was someone would come by the house Wednesday evening at 6 to pick up the check. Well, on Tuesday my husband gets another call from this woman in the office insisting that he bring the check to the office right then. He explained to her that someone was coming by the house to pick up the check. She again was rude. The salesman did come by and get the check. The conversation between him and my husband was polite and short. Seems to me there are some communication problems within their office. And, they definitely need some customer service training. We will never use Church Services again.

The A/C installers arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. The installation was installed within the time period they had quoted. They cleaned up very well. the only problem was they used the wrong sealant on the A/C and it dripped onto my new carpeting from the air duct. The sealant can't be removed so I wasn't very happy about that. They did come out the day I called to fix the problem with the proper sealant, although the damage was already done. All in all, it was okay.

It went well. They came out and they did it all over for half an hour. The price was right.

They did the work on Saturday Dec. 19, everything was fine until l looked in my attic 4 hours ago and saw a leak coming from the water heater fitting and there was water in the pan underneath, also there is a leak under my bathroom sink (slow) where they replaced some pipes. I was charged $375.00 for the leak repair today, which THEY CAUSED SOMEHOW YESTERDAY.....They either bumped the water heater or something, because the WH was replaced by them last year, I AM FURIOUS, They caused these problems and now I am being charged to repair them..... and they DON'T CARE..... DO NOT USE THEM

It took them five minutes to change the switch so they spent the rest of the time changing light bulbs for me which was very nice.

Late review. Thought I wrote review. Had a substandard a/c unit replace. Team of 2 technicians came. Job took a little over 2 hours. Replaced with high efficiency Lenox. Very efficient. Noticed A/c bills for summer reduced .

Service provider was polite and punctual. Great service.

Excellent communications with Tom Jones, who provided the estimate and followed-up to make certain that a service date was set. It took several weeks before the work could start - but once the date was set, everyone arrived on time. They did an excellent job - digging under tree roots and by-passing an established & cherished hedge. They replaced concrete that had to be removed and saved & replaced the grass plats that had to be removed. They were polite and answered all of my questions as the work progressed. I've had no problems with the sewer line since the work was completed nearly three weeks ago.

We had a new technician who charged us a second time for the service. When I found out, I called them and they apologized and refunded the amount they had billed. I noticed the first treatment had not been effective, so I called and and they sent out someone to spray again. I am happy with the results despite the initial issues and even purchased their yearly service. They are a customer friendly company and easy to deal with.

This was a phenomenal job done by Angel Torres & his bunch @ Church Services! Provider cut power to house making the chore of finding the underlying problem next to impossible. Angel waited for them to show up & reconnect power to diagnose (on a Saturday, no less). The fix was not an easy one or a cheap one. (It never is.) I have absolute confidence in this company to diagnose and fix CORRECTLY any issues I have put to task for them. (They completely changed out the HVAC system & it's performed better than estimated so I had no reservations regarding the electrical.) He even arrived early for the initial appointment. After I got the quote and approved, Angel & his crew arrived with permit in hand, had to dig a long trench & completely replace all the lines from the transformer to the house, replace the breaker box itself along with installing a main breaker that was missing since the house was built in 1976 and replaced all the other breakers. They labeled all the breakers which was not done when the house was built. They did an awesome job in the sweltering heat. What they accomplished left the house in better than new conditions. Throughout the process from the original appointment call to the final inspection there was great communication between Church & myself by phone as well as emails. Outstanding jobs, guys! I highly recommend them and plan on using them for the plumbing issues next.

I like the estimate, but I was told I could apply the 69.00 service call to the installation if I used them, now the serviceman said no I could not, so which is it Church Services? Please get your story straight....

Contacted this electrician after hours. They wanted $150 to come out that evening and told me that several people were already ahead of me. I asked what time they could come out the next morning and the on-call supervisor told me 10-12 the next day. I agreed to that. That morning I received a call from them at 7:21 am. The girl told me that an electrician wouldn't be there until 3-5 PM. I told her I had already been told by the on call supervisor that someone would be here at 10-12. She told me he didn't know the schedule and that was the only availability they had. I kept the appointment until I could find someone to come out sooner. When I called back to cancel the appointment the same girl asked why. I told her again because I was first told a time of 10-12 and then she told me 3-5. She panicked and asked if she could find me another appointment time. I think she should have done that when I first complained.

The plumber showed up on time, provided us with a quote for all the work. We choose what we wanted done and he immediately got to work. At one point he did not have a part and he had to run to Lowes to purchase. He returned and finished the work. I think my undersink plumbing in the kitchen looks better now than it did before.

I had purchased an Angies List deal but felt like I was overcharged by the electrician who charged me a lot more than the amount i had prepaid. He wasted a lot of time and charged me for it.
