Description of Work: Church Services was sent to my residence by American Home Shield twice last year ..I no longer have this service(was not worth money wise) The review will probably be not very good because not was really covered and I had to pay out of my pocket to have it performed. I cannot give you and approximate date at this moment because I I have been very sick for the last 6 months and I did not keep the receipts. I only paid $60 for each visit as per the AHS contract I apologize that I cannot be of better assistance,but Church Services are very known in Houston and probably have a great record Sincerely Anna Littledale P.S: The dates are not accurate because I did not kept the receipts)

+ 0 moreSince I am a new home owner of a house that was build in 1969, I purchased a 16 point furnace check to ensure that it would be safe for heating during the winter months. I scheduled a technician to come out. The guy who came out was friendly however I found him to be a little arrogant about his knowledge of heaters. When I asked questions, he would answer with a slight grin as if I must have been pretty uneducated or something not to know. Secondly, he had to give me the bad news that the switch for the heater needed to be replaced and would be about $400. After I told my Husband, he and I agreed to have them come back out to service the heater. Another guy showed up to replace the switch. I thought it was a little strange when that guy comes and says, "what am I supposed to fix today?" I shouldn't have to tell him what to fix, he's the technician! I went ahead and showed him the report from the previous technicia that stated we needed a new switch for the heater. He stated he had the part and went to work. After about 5 minutes, he comes down and says, "well I can't honestly complete this job because the truth is, you heater works just fine and doesn't need a new switch." I was very happy the second technician was honest and didn't service our heater and charge us! It was very honest and faithful of him. However, the whole experience was a bit awkward and I don't think I will use Church Services again.

+ -1 moreHe did a complete inspection of my heating and air conditioning system. When the guy who cleaned my ducts called me up into the attic, the duct was in horrible shape. So, I don't know if he missed that. But, I would Church Services again. I felt confident in the work that he was doing and I did not go into the attic at the time. The gentleman who came was very polite and professional. I felt that he spent a lot of time doing the work. He didn't just rush through things. I really got my money's worth.
Description of Work: I used the "Big Deal" for the services of Church Services. He did a cooling inspection and added some refrigerant. The second time he came, he did a heat check and found dirty filters needed to be replaced, which I did the next day.

+ -1 moreThe company was responsive, sent an electrician out. He arrived promptly and was extremely courteous. Many of the tasks I had to complete weren't able to be done for one reason or another.
Description of Work: The electrician did a good job, except he couldn't do most of the tasks I wanted done. The outdoor lighting was too old to repair, the garage door opener controller has to be done by the garage door opener company. The technician was pleasant and professional.

+ -1 moreLuckily, there is not much to tell. Church Services showed up on time and knocked on my door. They let me know what they would be doing and that it wouldn't take too much time. They sprayed outside and inside the house. He was super professional and did not intrude whatsoever. At the end, he went over what he had done, had me sign some papers, told me about some monthly service plans, and was on his way. All-in-all a great interaction with this company. I would definitely recommend them!
Description of Work: $69 for One Time Interior and Exterior Treatment for Ants, Spiders, Roaches, Silverfish and Ear Wigs Including Rodent Inspection! I bought this big deal of off Angie's List.

Now as empty nesters and established company, we are enjoying updating our home. We have used Church Services for both electric and plumbing updated needs. They send professional and experienced workers that are enjoyable to have in our home. Rooms that looked outdated and needed repairs, now are modern, attractive areas in our house. As we continue looking at our long - long list of "to do's" - we will be calling Church Services based on excellent service and staff.
Description of Work: Experienced plumber replaced 3 outdated faucets which leaked with new Moen faucets. Also replaced leaky plumbing in 2 showers with new Moen faucets. We have lived in our house for 30 years and faucets were all the original stock. Now as empty nesters - we are enjoying our home more and can upgrade with quality additions. Bathrooms look wonderful - just with lovely brass/silver faucets. Amazing what a great plumber can provide with service and experience!

+ -1 moreThe girl who scheduled the appointment over the phone was very nice. She gave a time frame and said she would call 30 minutes prior to them arriving. They arrived in that time frame and she did call 30 minutes in advance. We have two units and the deal was only for one unit which was brought to my attention and I did recall once I sat and thought about it. Much time had passed since the deal was purchased. While the guys were here, pictures were taken of all the problem areas which consisted of multiple vents on one system that were all disconnected and a mildew problem. Because the vents were disconnected from the ducts, they were not able to clean that unit. A solution to resolving the mildew problem was given along with a price but was not something that could be done in the same day and would have to be scheduled. It was also pointed out that there were many other areas where there were leaks. We called out the A/C guys who last worked on the system and they rectified everything for free. We are still in the process of deciding what method to use for the mildew problem and I am very happy that this company offers a green alternative and we are still considering it. We have ruled out the UV lights which seem to be a waste of money considering the life expectancy and that it can only manage the coils and pans. I didn't receive any up sell pressure from them. They gave us the necessary info and were on their way. They were both very professional and courteous. I would most definitely use them again and compared to other deals that were available around the same time from other related services on Angie's List, they were the best value.

+ -1 moreThe gentlemen who came out late on a Friday afternoon was very professional. He reviewed what work was needed and what he would have to do to replace the valve. This involved cutting out some drywall in the linen closet adjacent to the tub to get access. He went through the entire invoice, and then offered to begin work. Given the hour (and a Friday) I was ok with pushing off the work to the following Monday morning. Unfortunately, on Monday they had to send out a different serviceman for the job. I do give them credit, they communicated with me multiple times on the what was going on and what they were going to do about getting somebody out that day to perform the work. The guys showed up at approx. 3:00 pm and started the work. What I though would have been a couple hours lasted until past 9:00 that night. The end result is that it got done, look great and overall I'm satisfied. I actually feel sorry for the service guy because it took so long and he had to stay so late into the evening.

THey also failed to tighten the flusher so it jiggles a lot. I had to go through a bunch of h*** to give me a partial refund for the little bit of work.

THe repairman was very professional and told us the switch and fan were inoperable but that he could put in a new one if I went and got it. I did and he even threw in a new switch he just happened to have on hand. Great! A ++ The 2nd visit was also for an electrical issue. The serviceman was here within 2 hours, even tho our issue was not ‘an emergency’. We’d wanted to replace our kitchen overhead light but discovered the wiring was very old, and apparently we had managed to short out the wiring to 2 other rooms. “Raul’ assessed the matter and fixed it. He could’ve told us that we needed to completely replace all the wiring, which might have been logical in an older home such as ours –and quite expensive,. But he fixed the problem and installed the light so that now we have light in all our rooms. He did not seem as knowledgeable or capable as the 1st electrician a few months earlier but the job was done fine and at a fairly reasonable price. 3rd visit this time for Plumbing We used them to repair our upstairs bath sink which had become loose and broken the PVC drain pipe. Very prompt service and good work./ Price seemed more than a little high ($467) but can't argue with the quality. The plumber also tried to convince us we needed to buy a "Priority One Membership" for their future services. No thanks!

This time was a plumbing emergency. The upstairs pedestal sink PVC connection was broken and we had water leaking whenever we used it. WE also had a non-working pop up. The plumber was very prompt and the work was done fairly quickly. But we were shocked at the price: almost $470 to replace one section of PVC and re-insert a pop-up. This was on a Tuesday during the day - not a weekend or night-time call. Though the job was done well, and Church was very prompt, so I'd give them a C on price.

Description of Work: I received a call at 8am to inform me the tech would arrive in approximately 35 minutes, which he did. Big E was on time and he covered his shoes before entering our home. (Great start for my morning). He was a pure delight and was so wonderful to allow me to learn as he checked our filters and worked on all the units. We purchased the special for $49.00 per unit, as a lot of other A/C companies were doing and included the furnaces as well. He would stop to explain why he had to check several of the items and would answer any question I asked without making me feel I was intruding with his job.

+ -1 moreTwo hours is a great deal for an electrician - or so I thought. When the guy showed up, I had a list of things that needed an electrician, and one by one, he said he couldn't do them. There's only one thing that he did do: reset a GFCI switch. Yes, he pressed a red button. The list of things he refused to do was: install an outlet for a fan in the ceiling (didn't have the right equipment), install an outlet for a TV in the wall (flat out refused to do), install an outlet for a arbor (didn't have the equipment), and replace the capacitor on a furnace (he wasn't an HVAC specialist). He was willing to fix a light, but the cost of the part he quoted me exceeded the cost to replace the whole thing. I still need to hire an electrician for those things. I just won't be hiring one from Church services.
Description of Work: He reset a GFCI switch.
