Church Services

We bought the AC checkup Deal directly through Angie's List. We called Church Services on Monday, and they were able to schedule an appointment for that same afternoon. Everald arrived on time and was the most friendly and professional service man we have ever met. He quickly restored the cooling by adding refrigerant and determined that the leak was most likely in the coils in the attic. We were pleased that he did not pressure us to spend more money fixing it.

I felt the service provider had integrity and did a very good job

We'd heard the advertisements for Church Services for years but never thought to use them before. They were very professional and sent a great electrician out to perform the service. We asked him to install some lighting in our too-dark garage but he advised us that it would be much more economical for us to purchase the lights elsewhere and call to have him out to install them which we are planning to do in the next couple of weeks. We definitely recommend them.

Replaced hurricane-ravaged decorative lamps outside the front door, fixed faulty ligting in two closets, and replaced the lightbulbs in our two-story-high chandeliers.

The cost of the work done by Church Services ended up being very pricey. It was a little expensive. They really did a lot of damage to the wall, putting in the outlets. We had to drywall repair and wallpaper removal to fix it. It ended up costing us a great deal of money. They were professional, but they didn't clean up after themselves, so we were vacuuming up drywall dust and all of that afterwards. It was, overall, not a great experience.

The tech arrived on time and got to work. I had another contractor at my home at the same time and had to give them most of my attention, so I just let the tech get started. I usually pay much more attention to the techs and ask questions while they are working. Everything checked out OK and I would buy another deal next year (and afterward) at the same price. Hopefully if I ever have an issue an issue with the A/C, they will make value my patronage and treat me well.

I was considering the following work to be done: 1) inspect and potentially replace PVC pipe in attic in tap water service, 2) replace main water shutoff for house, 3) connect water line to freezer ice maker. He was very nice and professional. I was planning to have work done then, but was thrown off by the price of the quotes. Thought I could get a good amount of work done for the $200 purchased, but that wasn't the case. PVC pipe replacement was ~$450, main valve ~$350, and ice maker connection $$125. So no options seemed to work well. Decided to wait to use my big deal. In the future, I will likely stick to the Big Deals that purchase a particular service rather than just a discount amount.

Their responsiveness was good. There was nothing that I dislike or nothing that stood out.

The plumber arrived and appeared to be tired and not too keen on having a customer service attitude. I showed him the new kitchen faucet and new toilet to be installed. He appeared not to have the experience or confidence of plumbers that I have used in the past. In fact he made me nervous with the sound of the clinging and banging of the tools he was using under the sink. Finally he called for me as stated that I needed a certain joint connection under the sink and I asked him how much would it cost. He stated he could sell one to me from his truck for $35, which was extremely too expensive and I was not going to leave my house while he was there to go to Home Depot for a much cheaper price. Therefore, the kitchen faucet installation was not completed. He next started on the toilet. He stated that I had the wrong valve connection for the toilet installation. This is what the Lowe's store associate in plumbing sold me with the new toilet. The toilet was not installed. I fact check later and found out this was the correct valve connection and the toilet was installed later by another plumber with a different company.

My existing a/c service company (who I have a service agreement with) told me I needed a new system and it would be 3 weeks before they would be able to schedule it. I called Church Services for a competitive quote. They same out the same day and committed to install the system the next day as I was leaving for a 2 week trip. They quoted a price which was 15% lower than the previous quote. They were on time, professional and did the work in half the time quoted. They needed to carry heavy equipment parts to the third floor and did so without disturbing the finished space they moved through. I am not only pleased but will probably have my 2 water heaters replaced by them (as they do plumbing too) and will sign a service agreement with them after my current one expires.

They were very responsive. Our new unit was installed 3 days from our first call to them, they came to the house and installed the unit the next day. Their salesman was very nice and professional. Their installers the same. They were very clean, no mess afterwards. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

Everything was completed and works great. I had a short list of items and they were able to complete them all. Was able to rewire without having to go into the attic. Overall very pleased.

Overall very well. From start to finish the service man was friendly, informative, cooperative and helpful. He got the AC unit cooling again and didn't try to hit us with hidden charges.

The service has been good. They came on time and they were very nice over the phone.

Appointment was scheduled for between 12:00 and 4:00. I contacted the company at 4:00 I was told that the service technician was “just finishing up his job”. At 5:00 I was contacted by their service specialist and told that the technician would be at my house in 45 minutes. Unfortunately this did not work with my schedule and I chose not to have them perform the work. Not happy that I took off from my job to spend the afternoon waiting for them. Luckily, another service provider was able to complete the work the next morning as “they scheduled”.

I was very pleased with Church Services' electrical services. Raul came to my townhouse and gave me a free estimate, and I found his estimate for a high-quality new breaker box and panel to be better than any other electrical service company I had previously contacted, so I was sure I wanted to go with Church Services' installation when Raul left. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. On the day of installation, Raul and Zach arrived on time, and did all the work they could do to begin to dismantle my old breaker box. Centerpoint had been called very early in the morning and made aware that my smart meter needed to be removed for a short time in order to install a new breaker box and panel. However, Centerpoint, Houston's power supplier was very slow (4+ hours) in arriving to my townhouse to remove the smart meter in order for the electricians to safely begin to install my new breaker box and panels. This, however, in no way reflects on the performance of Church Services--this problem lies TOTALLY with Centerpoint and their blatant lack of consideration, lack of organization and lack of professionalism and care. But, they are a monopoly. I understand that this problem has been a constant nemesis for electrical companies for too long. There is no need for this--they should work in tandem with each other--but it appears Centerpoint calls these plays! And, from my observation, Centerpoint doesn't really care about the actual customer--they claim they work for the electrical PROVIDER--not the customer! Centerpoint is a monopoly, and totally monopolizes the entire procedure when it comes to safely removing the smart meter for the electricians to do their work. This needs to change quickly. Unfortunately, this is the 'plan' that Centerpoint demands, which causes excessive waste and down time for both the customer and the electrical service company. Hopefully, with enough complaining, Centerpoint will have to 'come around' and stop holding customers and electrical service companies hostage. I, personally, plan to write a letter to the PUC of Texas--hopefully things will get better if enough complaints are filed for this excessive delay and waste of time for electrical serivce companies and customers. This is totally uncalled for, inefficient, selfish and flat rude, but I assume Centerpoint gets a big 'power rush' when THEY totally control and hold up installations such as these where the power supply (smart meter) needs to be removed temporarily to complete the installation of a new breaker box and panel. Once Centerpoint finally arrived and the smart meter was removed, the Centerpoint representative agreed to stay for about 30 minutes for Raul and Zach to do the work they needed to do with the smart meter removed. After the Centerpoint representative replaced the smart meter and left, Raul and Zach continued completing the installation of my new breaker box and panel. I now feel much safer with this new breaker box, as I had an old breaker box that was known to cause fires. I'm extremely happy with the results from the Church Services skilled electrical technicians.

They sent the same guy back so he was familiar with the job. They were quick, efficient, and courteous.

They said that I needed an AC replacement. He also told me that I needed a new part, which I had just replaced 2 years ago. I wound up having a second opinion. He was very nice and knowledgeable, but I got the feeling that they were really looking for a sales opportunity.

Adam from Church Services was great to work with. I'm sure he was on-time (he got there before I did to meet with the home inspector), and waited for me to arrive to walk me around the house. He had a diagram of the house with his notes on it, and he explained everything to me as we walked around the house. He even answered my questions a few days later when I called him. Adam also went above the duties of the pest inspection and pointed out a few things that I, as a first-time homebuyer, wouldn't necessarily notice.

Their price was a bit above of what I was expecting (I agreed to the high bill with hesitation as I did not know this company). I realized the extent of the work and the quality of the work performed. I recognize the amount of work and professionalism of their staff... Good work and good value... Thanks guys... Still a high bill... (I could have had a complete bathroom refurbish for double the price I paid).

They called promptly and the man that came out was friendly, professional and was able to do everything I needed in the allotted time.

The install was professional and took much less time than I had anticipated. The installer did take time to explain that the device was hooked into the wiring in a very particular way that might seem to be against code, but (and I reviewed the manufacturer's install sheet myself) is in fact the correct way according to the manufacturer. I had occasion to speak with both another electrician and the supervisor at Church about this topic, and am satisfied.

Have not lived in the house for 4 years. Minor plumbing problems gradually became magnified due little use over time, with worst issue being hot water stopped flowing to each spickett one at a time, so there was not one central problem. Corrosion had built up in hot water line and caught up in individual valves. Various parts of the very old toilet were failing. Church Svces always answered calls professionally and friendly over the course of the initial call plus three days of service. The technician, Charles Williams, was always prompt, informative, friendly and a pleasure to work with. This was my first experience with Church and now that I know they provide much more than plumbing services, I will be calling on them shortly to quote on electrical for the same home as well. I would, and have already recommended them to others.
