Church Services

They were one of Angie's List eight preferred customers and they were excellent. The price was high but their service was excellent. I haven't had to call them for anything. They came back a week after the installation was done and did a systems check and informed about the thermostats and the operations of them and so forth. We have a 10 year warranty on them on the units for service, parts and labor. I would highly recommend them.

They did well. I don't think we paid anything extra. He just did what we needed to have done. He was very nice.

Due to my health, I had to call on this outfit to perform a routine service that I would normally do myself, i.e replacing a kitchen faucet unit and a garden faucet. I had bought the replacement units at Lowe,s for about $5.85/each, but the servicemen said that they were not the right size, and used his own, at a cost of over $30.00/ea. With the labor, other parts (connecting hoses..) I finally had to pay something like $160.00 over the price advertised service at Angie's. I felt that I did not have a fair deal, and will never use this contractor again....

Everything went well. They arrived on time and completed everything as they were supposed to.

I had a very good experience with this company. They are very professional and nice to work with, from the customer service rep to the electrician that came out to my house. They were able to do the work right away. I got the feeling I could have got a better deal elsewhere, but it was convenient to get the job taken care of right away and I felt very confident the electrician knew what he was doing.

They were so efficient and helpful in explaining how to prevent further problems. I had them come out and do another job for me. Then, I called them for an emergency repair. They’re a good company, I can depend on them, and they don’t seem to over charge. I called them and they were able to come out same day and solved the problem by replacing a piece of pipe. He explained in depth what the problem was, how long it would take to fix it, and what they would do to fix it. They wear booties over their boots when they are in the home and they also clean up after themselves. I've added them to my phone because they are my go to company!

Scheduled an evaluation of a kitchen electrical circuit. Had to be around for a 4 hour window since they didn't schedule appointments. I thought the work was a little pricey ($155 for 15 min of work, not including the commute) but the technician was knowledgeable and polite.

Very well. Fixed it in less than 30 minutes.

They came out and told me I would have to pay about $400.00 more than the Big Deal I had already paid. Home Depot offered to install the faucets for $92.00 a piece.

I’m not too happy with the service tech because he didn't seem to want to fix my AC. He was more interested in selling me a new unit. He said there was a Freon leak, but he couldn't even tell me how much it held or give any specifics. He didn't seem too knowledgeable. He just did a quick fix on the AC unit but it’s still not working properly.

The demolition was fine. He did not follow the video’s instructions. They were supposed to use a special product for the pan seal. I felt the person they sent was not experienced. The worker did not follow instructions. The floor on the shower came up the next day and I had to have them come back. When it failed the second time I had to hire someone else. I lost the value of the coupon. They did refund me some of it back. When I informed them that I didn’t owe them any more money he talked to his boss and came back in with an attitude. I will not use them again.

They fixed the leak, gave me a discount, and assured me that I could call them back if anything went wrong. I was very pleased with their services and will probably get a bid from them on my foundation work in the near future.

It went great. Church Services representative did a through inspection of the heating system. He was very friendly and professional.

They couldn't fix the problem

Getting the appointment was super easy using their online system. Their business seems to be split internally so if you need them for multiple services, you will really need to put in the requests individually to the forms that relate to each service (like the plumbing form is different from the HVAC form). The HVAC team called very quickly to set up an appointment within days. They forwarded the other info along, but I did not hear from the other teams. I am not fussed and did not follow up on it either. Joe was the HVAC tech. Very personable. Explains things really well - drew me pictures to explain the system and what was happening. Short story is that I have a 4 year long "blinky light" problem that basically was a poor builder installation that Joe figured out. The $1.2K may sound like a lot - but the last company recommended replacing the entire HVAC system for $22K so I am very happy.

Jesse, the gentleman who came out to the home, was nice and explained all of the options to me. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but we chose them because we thought he was the most qualified for the job we needed. We thought he was going to be the one installing the new unit, however that was not the case. He sent 3 men to install the unit, who did not speak any English. They were yelling back and forth in Spanish which irritated my mother and myself. Along with the new unit, a new thermostat was installed, and they failed to give us instructions on how to use it. I called the company today to let them know I wanted an old fashioned thermostat installed and the new one removed. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice and they are supposed to come install a new thermostat tomorrow. They did not do a very good job cleaning up after themselves, but the major qualm we had was that they kept yelling back and forth in Spanish which was a major irritation and disruption to our day.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. We're not that pleased with them. They came out and assessed what we needed and the quote that they gave us was pretty high. We had another guy come out and take a look at it and he said that the quote that we got was really for unnecessary work. There were no additional charges.

We paid Church Services for 2 hours worth of work, but we only had about 30 minutes of handyman-type work for him to do (check loose outlets, replace an electrical outlet, test an outlet). The balance of the time we asked if he would use to do some wiring behind the TV in our living room. We had all the supplies and equipment, but he would not do the work. Overall, $89 for 2 hours worth of work would have been a deal, but the amount of work we actually had him do, we paid the equivalent of $187 per hour. The work he did was stuff I could have easily done, but since he was there, we asked him to do it. The servicer was nice and professional, but we did not get a good deal this time around.

When we called they were able to set up an appointment to come out very quickly. Within a day, which was good because we had ants in the house. The guy came to the house on time, and was friendly. He was able to identify what type of ants were coming into the house by my description. He sprayed throughout the inside of the house and around the perimeter of the outside of the house. Our problem with the ants went away. We had them come out the second time, several months later, when we started seeing ants around our foundation again. I had the same experience with the second appointment. I would use them again, and would recommend them to others.

I felt like the provider was only using the deal on Angie's List to get the work started. It took much longer to do the work than I thought it should, and it seemed more work was done at the regular rate than for the discounted rate. They also brought in an additional worker once they we re on the higher rate. It's almost like the workers intentionally worked slowly in order to have additional work (and another workman) at the higher rate. Also, they made quite a mess of things in our attic. We recently had insulation blown in. They had to move some in order to access the work area, and they had to remove part of our air conditioning duct in that part of the attic. When they replaced the duct it had insulation in it and then we had insulation blowing into the bathroom. In order to get them to come back out to clean out the duct work and replace the insulation, we had to agree to give them additional work. This was our first experience using Angie's List and the first time we had used Church Services. I will give Angie's List another try, but will never call on Church Services for anything.

Mo showed up and went through every inch of pipe from my HVAC in the attic to find the issue. I was asking questions the whole time. He was very patient and explained everything he was doing. After his thorough work he found the problem, corrected it and never gave me an excuse. He did an excellent job and didn't take any short cuts. I appreciated every thing he did and his extreme professionalism.

I would give them an A+. We wanted some additional circuits for the outside and they found a way to fit it into our main breaker box. They did all that at a very reasonable price. They have also been back to replace outlet and switches and they have always done good work for us.

Everything turned out just fine. We had used Church Services before over the course of three or four years. They do a tremendous amount of work for plumbing and foundation repairs throughout our neighborhood. Our neighbors all have been pleased with their services and we have as well.

The plumber and his helper arrived as scheduled. They both placed "booties" over their shoes and placed drop clothes from the doorway up to the work area. They got to work and did everything except run the snake down the drain prior to leaving (saying they had other work to do and could not wait around for our Manager of Maintenance to turn the water back on. He did ask me if I had any drinking water that he could pour down the drain to wash out any debrie from the filings from the old pipe. I gave him two 9 oz. bottles of drinking water which he poured down the drain. That was the extent of his testing for obstruction, knowing that these pipes had been shut off from use for an unknown number of years.)
