Very happy with this service provider. They came out and did a good quality job cleaning up my fireplace. They even removed some old unwanted gas logs and fixed a jammed damper at no charge. They seemed honest with their inspection results and provided a written quote for several options of dealing with my missing chimney cap. The options seemed reasonably priced and I plan on using them for my chimney cap installation.

Hiram with Houston Chimney & Wildlife Specialist arrived on time, his associate cleaned chimney, made repairs of tuck point to bricks at rear of fireplace & did Lintel Packing. They Cleaned out fireplace and painted interior black. Looked really clean and fresh. Installed Gas Logs. Hiram was very informative on the workings of a fireplace and gas logs. Very satisfied with their service and will recommend them to my family, friends & clients.

I had to leave while the service was being performed. Upon my arrival, I inspected the work and all the areas we had discussed beforehand had been repaired to my satisfaction.

They were very prompt and were able to come the same day I called. The chimney sweep was very thorough and explained everything he was doing. He gave me a good estimate for what it would cost to repair my fireplace vs. installing a gas burning log. He gave me his opinion but was not pushy about selling me a gas log system. After installing the gas log he made sure I knew exactly how to operate it and felt comfortable doing it on my own. I would highly recommend them.

The company called and set up an appointment. I was given the names of the guys who would come to my house. They were punctual, friendly. They investigated and found some openings that would allow rats, etc. inside our attic. They could close those openings for $150. That took me by surprise. I thought that was excessive but. . . they were here. They squirted some dark-colored foam-type product around entry points. I wish there could have been a color closer to match the house so it didn't stand out so much in the visible areas and I wish they could have made it a little neater. Perhaps, there's not much control over the foam but, perhaps, they were in a hurry. It's good news that we haven't seen any critter action and I did like the guys that came.

I purchased a big deal from Angie's List and their services turned out very well. He was very informative and very professional. He knew what he was doing. He did not charge me anything extra than the big deal.

Technician (Hiram) arrived on time (bit early but did call before hand), cleaned chimney per Angie's List discounted price and after providing an estimate, installed a chimney cap as agreed upon. Vacuumed fireplace and lower flue, and then repaired some missing mortar in firebox bricks and spray painted inside of fireplace with black paint (no charge for these last two items). Very pleased with service, would highly recommend Chimney and Wildlife Specialist.

Hiram answered all of my questions and shared his findings verbally. He made safety recommendations (do not build hot fires and use Duraflame logs, reinspect every 3-5 years even if fireplace has little/no use ). I made notes to add to his Invoice report .

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out very good. We ended up purchasing additional services after the initial consultation.

C & W provide free estimate prior to doing any work. They investigated and found the problem, told me how much it was going to cost, did the work, also sanitized the area with bleach that I provided at no extra charge. Very friendly. They called within the window of time as promised and showed up at the house shortly after. After removing the animal and sanitizing, they went around the house and pointed out areas where animals could gain access underneath the house. They indicated that they do offer a house sealing procedure if I was interested, but there was no pressure or pushing on their part to have them do this. They even suggested a way that I could seal up the house myself if I was inclined. My wife had called several services in our area that do this work and this one was the cheapest. The others were not only more expensive, but also indicated they charged extra for the sanitation process. We were very satisfied with the results. With the Angie's LIst 10% discount coupon, the overall cost was $135. We would certainly use them again if we have anymore problems.

The service provider was nice and polite. The people were very personable and listen to you. They were very helpful.

He was on time. He did what he said he would. My fireplace failed the inspection but he let me know that my fireplace needs to be replaced.

Technician called and came early. He provided thorough service and cleaned up everything.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. They came out within a month of purchasing the deal. They came and expressed the problem right away. I don't remember if they gave us a quote. The price may have been a little more high. I decided to try to do it myself.

Carlos was very punctual and neat. I had the service of cleaning fireplaces out using dusting equipment and a heavy duty vacuum. As I had had problems with birds in the chimney he showed me pictures of the grate that was onto of the opening and it had been moved--most probably by a raccoon. He gave me an estimate at my request for custom covering both fireplace openings (double sided) and he also filled in gaps in fireplace bricks and re painted the entire large custom fireplace area.

The two guys were very nice and told me that I had mice or rats in house and gave me a quote for building a protective system against rodents and other animals. I told them that I had already this done by another company two years ago and that I would think about it. As they walked away, I happened to look down at the handwritten invoice and noticed that due to their incorrect math skills, they were going to overcharge me by $400. So, instead of giving me a discount as they proclaimed, I was going to get hosed. I would just say, check your invoice before signing up. Otherwise, they seemed to know what they were doing in terms to work and services.

iWe began to hear a noise in our fireplace. So we called the chimney sweep and he verified our noise maker. The raccoon and her 4 babies were in the pocket at the back and bottom of the fireplace. He took pictures to show me the raccoon and she did not look happy that someone was looking down at her from the top. He much referred that she leave with her babies without his assistance. He dropped a solution into the chimney with the hopes that she would leave. He told us we might smell an odor. I ask like what and he said poop and that this might trick the raccoon into thinking she had been invaded by another animal. Sure enough, that night we heard scrambling in the fire place and she was moving her family. The last one must have thought he had been abandoned because he was raising a ruckus. We heard one more ruckus and then all was quite. The next day they measured and prepared to place a cap on the chimney. It was done and all is well. They were very professional, informative and easy to get along wth.

It turned out my chimney wasn't really dirty, but now I feel safer anyway. I had cleaned my dryer vent myself, but had plugged up the lint into the top of the vent. It was about 25 feet tall. So the service man went onto the roof and took off the top of the vent and cleaned out the clog for me. Now my dryer works great!

First visit from Hiram was very professional. He diagnosed the problem and gave options and costs for repair. Set up removal on next available date. Arrived at scheduled time, did a professional job and was careful with the roof and made sure everything was cleaned up. I would recommend Hiram and his crew to everyone Bellaire, Texas

It was an Anxious List Big Deal that we purchased. They did an unbelievably fantastic job. They were very thorough and very watchful of how carefully they took care of the property. They could have just put wire up but they tore out all of the sheetrock and everything that they tried to use for rodent prevention from getting in from the garage to the breezeway overhead into the house. They did a nice job of putting wire mesh in there so that it looked good and it was effective. They did an unbelievably great job.

It went ok. He thought our chimney was clean. He looked around and since we just had our roof done there was not much to do. The price was reasonable. He was very good and professional.

Hiram had provided me with a bid for the work. I decided to use him and he had someone here the following day. The work was done very quickly and was excellent work. He was concerned the pillars in the front of the house would not exactly match the 2 that were still good. He also hauled away not only his scraps but also some left over from another contractor who had done some work for me and hauled away nothing. I told him to do the best he could and they look excellent. Hiram is a delight to work with and very conscientious. His prices are very reasonable again. I will definitely use him for outside work again and highly recommend him.

Excellent service. The racoon left the same night as they placed the scent to keep it away. They replaced all the sofit covers in one day and installed a wire mesh that is resistant to tampering by the racoons (there is evidence that the racoon came back a few weeks later and tried to get back in but couldn't). They even re-nailed some of the loose boards and then painted and finished to match the rest of the sofit. Very well done, fast and professional.

Hiram came out on time and assessed the situation. We knew that there was a squirrel in the attic. He identified the places where he could be getting in. But none of them appeared to be in use. All of the openings were sealed. The next afternoon we had scratching in the attic again. We called on Monday and we had Carlos at the house within about an hour to put a cage and a one way door in. Then we had a couple of missed connections- and the scrathing moved ot downstairs- then we had another one way door put into the closet under the stairs. Then it got quiet. The squirrel dies in the wall and 4 May- they removed the poor critter when it started to smell. This is one of those if it could go wrong it did stories. I can't say it is the provider's fault--they did always make an honest effort to get the thing out of the house. The squirrel was just not cooperative.
