Description of Work: Gave a cost estimate to repair my leaking chimney but failed to adequately replace a tarp that I had over the top of my chimney to prevent leaking into my home. To their credit they removed the $89 charge they assessed to come to my home to provide that estimate. I found two other Angie's List providers who did not charge for estimates.

Description of Work: I can't recall exact date but it was last fall after we had a new fireplace installed and needed a family of squirrels evicted. They also did some minor repairs to keep the critters out and recommended I have our roof jacks sealed by a roofer... which only cost us $75. I have recommended them to neighbors already. |

Description of Work: Squirrels in my attic. |After contacting another "critter" removal company, and getting a scare tactic along with a huge service estimate ($10K) I found C&W. Hiram came right out and assessed the situation, which was pretty minor in their opinion. Not only did we have squirrels, but we had birds, too. They sealed up a few penetrations and installed a 1-way door. A few days later, one squirrel made it back in, but a quick call to C&W and issue was resolved. We also had an unusual odor, turned-out to be a dead mouse, and they removed it, too. About a week later C&W returned to remove the door and seal the hole. All seems to be fine now. |My home has high ceilings, so it has a high, steep roof. The repairs were not difficult anyone to perform, but well worth the money for the service and reassurance. A trip to the hospital for a fall from a roof would cost a lot more. |I highly recommend C&W. Hiram and C&W are responsive, reliable, fair and ethical people.

Description of Work: Chimney & Wildlife Specialist responded to the Angie's List request I sent in a matter of minutes and set up an appointment for 2 days later on a Saturday. My chimney cap had fallen off and needed to be replaced. During the few days before I realized it, we had a duck and a bird get in our house through the open damper of the chimney. |Hiram did a professional job in replacing it in a short period of time and came in an closed the damper in both of our fireplaces. He is very knowledgeable and has not problem imparting that knowledge to help us. He was a pleasure doing business with. I would highly recommend Hiram and the company to anyone with a chimney problem (or needing a critter to be caught or chased).

Description of Work: C&WS removed a dead duck from inside my chimney, fixed damper & installed a new (duck proof) chimney cap. Hiram showed me pictures of everything (even duck), gave me options, cleaned up & sprayed Clorox in the chimney. I chose the middle priced chimney cap. |I would not hesitate to call C&WS again. The other companies I called couldn't make it out for over a week. Hiram was great.

Description of Work: Hiram M. came over on a short notice to quote me on a pest control issue. My house is a new built and I wanted a experts opinion on the work completed by my builder to address the squirrel issues. He crawled through the attic and inspected the second story roof/access points. He said our builder did a good job in sealing up all the access points and no further work was required. He also discussed converting our wood burning fireplace to a gas log fireplace. Very professional and knowledgable. I will use him to convert our fireplace. |Chuck
