He called to say he was coming earlier than planned, which was great. showed up and was gone within 30 minutes.

He did the inspection but was in a hurry. He could have taken more time to explain it to me.

It worked really well. They were there when they said they would be there. I thought I had birds in my chimney but I did not. They were reliable, did good work, and I was very pleased with it.

excellent job - honest and straight forward. Not trying to sell you goods you don't need however does provide recommendations of things/improvents you might want to do (without the sales pressure). I plan to use this company again for these services.

They were great and provided a quote for services along with a warranty after services are performed. We are going to wait a month or two to perform the services, but will contact them as soon as we are ready.

It went well overall. Hiram came out and said there was nothing wrong at all. My problem is with the smell in the house after using the fireplace, it stinks of the smell of burnt wood or like the smoke might be escaping and then it lingers for several days after not using the fireplace. Hiram suggested we go back to using gas or making sure we use dry logs. He also put a brush up the chimney but found it to be clean. He was punctual and professional and I would call them again if I needed to.

He checked the safety of my fireplace by first spreading a tarp over my carpet to keep it clean. Then he vacuumed out the firebox and checked the condition of the bricks. He made sure the flue was working properly, too. He went up on the roof and inspected the outside of the chimney for anything wrong with the bricks. He also inspected the inside of the chimney from the top. (I had thought that birds had built a nest in there). Luckily, everything was fine and it was safe to use. My house was as clean when he left as it was when he came.

He came out and cleaned my chimney and then told me that I needed a lot of work done on it to repair it and the full repairs would cost $1400. The next day another company came out and said all I needed was the chimney cover replaced for around $100. I will contact some other companies to get a better idea of what needs to be done. I was not there when the work was done, but they replied to me quickly to set up the appointment.

I was having a problem with my fireplace emitting smoke back into the room somehow when a friend suggested having my chimney sweeped....thank God I did, because I had no idea that it was such a safety issue...in fact, after having my cleaned I heard several stories of homeowners who were not as fortunate as I that had house fires for the very reason...Thank God my friend told me about having this service done otherwise I could have also been a victim instead of a happy satisfied customer...The technician was professional, efficient and full of knowledge....I would definitely do business with them again and recommend them to friends.

The gentleman turned up on time, worked quickly and effectively. He answered all my questions fully and kindly. He came to inspect and sweep the chimney (no sweeping was necessary). I appreciated his courtesy and attention to detail so much, I arranged for him to come back and paint the chimney and install fireplace logs the following week. Again, he turned up on time, got the work done very fast, and I have enjoyed the fireplace continuously since then. In particular, he showed me in detail how to start the gas logs and had me do it several times before he left to be sure I got it right. I thought his service was wonderful and would recommend him to anyone.

He was on time, neat, and efficient. He seemed to do a good job and checked for other problems.

Hiram and his trainee arrived on-time and explained to me the services I would recieve as part of my Angie's list big deal. They also outlined other services I might be interested in after climbing onto the roof and examining/photographing the chimney. They inspected for wildlife, leaks, etc. They cleaned it quickly and then painted the inside of the firebox as I requested for an additional fee of about 50 dollars, after also sealing the mortar. Overall I was very pleased. Hiram seemed to enjoy his work and was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all my questions in a detailed way. I plan on having them out again this year to do the additional work they recommended for the chimney.

We had traded phones messages a few times, but getting a time scheduled was not at all difficult, and the sweep called during the window we had agreed upon and arrived shortly thereafter. Again, it seems clear that they use this "Big Deal" as a means of finding customers for more exhaustive services. I have no problem with their finding new customers, and in fact intend on having them perform perhaps two of their recommendations. I do have a slight issue of using this "big deal" exclusively as a pretext, however. If I wanted an inspection and estimate of repairs, I don't believe that I'd have spent $89 on it, especially if none of that were applied to additional work done. I've purchased other Big Deals and some jobs needed more work than was covered, so I ended up paying a significant discount on part of the job and full price on the remainder, which is still a discount overall. This Big Deal, though, had me paying for a fishing expedition and no discount on any further work. If you have no problem with that, this company is professional and will not leave a sooty mess and gets my recommendation on that score. I'd suggest trying to barter for a discount on any further work, however.

I took advantage of the special they were running for a chimney sweep and dryer vent cleaning. It was scheduled for 9am Monday morning, but Hiram called me on Saturday to ask if it would be alright to come earlier. He explained that with the stackable HE dryers he sometimes needs more time. I was happy to oblige since I would rather he have more time and not feel rushed. He showed up and took off his shoes before entering the house. He continued to do so each time he went inside and out. I really appreciated his being conscious of the floors. He worked on the dryer vent for awhile and answered all of my questions. He said if I left him a broom he would tidy the floor but I had planned on vacuuming afterwards so didn't bother. There only a little bit of lint left behind from the service. The chimney inspection was good. He explained how to properly use and care for the fireplace as well as things I can do to upgrade what I currently own. The actual 'sweep' didn't take very long at all but he said we had a pretty clean chimney. I watched him do it and nothing really came out as he swept it so I have no complaints. We discussed some issues I suspected with the exterior and shingles around the chimney and he checked it out, took pictures and reviewed it with me. He made the process easy and painless. He gave us estimates on the items we discussed. No pressure sales. Friendly and courteous services.

The chimney sweep service was provided before the Holidays. The Gas log install was performed on January 6th. We are very pleased with the service provided and the Gas Log set. My only comment would be to ensure clear communications when talking with the office, as they made a mistake on gas log set (wrong set communicated to the technician). However, the mistake was quickly corrected by the technician in the field. I would highly recommend C&W for Chimney/Fireplace service or installation.

They performed the chimney sweep and recomended some other services. I was satisfied with the service performed and did not do the othere services requested.

Hiram came out quickly after I called for an estimate, took pictures of what the problems were and gave me several options for solving them. He was knowledgeable and professional in all respects - I'm not likely to go up on the roof to look at the repairs, but the pictures of the new work give me great confidence that it was well done.

He was on time. He told me what he was doing as he worked on the chimney and fireplace and explained what was important about the construction. I was informed about every step he took. Also, he dropped cloths and left my hearth spotless after a messy job.

I was pleased with the services. They were prompt, and did a good job of installing the gas logs and explaining the operation to me.

Everything from start to finish went well.

I purchased the super special through Angie's List, which was WAY under other companies standard prices. Sometimes you worry that a "deal" may not be what it seems but this company was fabulous! Hiram Martinez was the specialist who serviced our chimney. He called to let me know what time he would arrive, was very professional and confident. He explained in detail what to look for in a properly running chimney and how to correctly maintain one. He also explained where to place the logs to ensure maximum heat for the room. When he left, there wasn't a trace of dust in my living room. Highly recommend.
