After reading very positive reviews on Angie's List, I called this service provider to check my entire irrigation system: We moved into our house a year ago and have never lived in a home with a sprinkler system, so I wanted to make sure that everything was working properly and that we are maintaining the system correctly. I also wanted to find a service provider with whom I could establish a relationship for regular maintenance and repair/renovation. The office staff was excellent in setting up, and also re-scheduling my service call as well as establishing what work needed to be done. Overall, the service men who came did a good job, but I was left slightly perplexed by one item and irked by another. The item that left me perplexed: With the help of the office staff member over the phone,it had been determined that the technicians needed to come out with a piece of equipment specifically designed to blown/clean out my drains (a "jet" something or another). The technicians did not have this equipment with them, and they told me they were in a hurry to get to other scheduled jobs, so this part of the job would have to be done during another service call, scheduled just for this. They informed me that the use of this equipment runs $100 an hour and that my job would probably require 1 - 3 hours; their estimate after assessing my drains was that it would probably be about an hour, but they would only know once the work began. This seemed reasonable, but I don't know why this part of the appointment wasn't officially scheduled to be taken care of during this initial service call and why no one at the office had told me about the additional cost of using this particular equipment. Not being familiar with this type of work, for all I know this is a perfectly legitimate cost for an additional service, but the office person presented it like it was part of the service call both in time and cost, which it did not turn out to be. The item that irked me: While repairing a leak, the service technicians severed an underground cable, which, due to its proximity to the irrigation tubing, was most likely inevitable. However, while the technicians were very apologetic and clear about informing me of what they had done, they also stated that they were not responsible for remediating the damage. This seems odd. In my mind, particularly in newer subdivisions like mine, I suspect that this is a common problem because cables for telecommunications and the such are typically located under only a few inches of top soil and often follow the same layout, e.g., such as along a backyard fence, as part of an irrigation system. Fortunately, this cable hasn't yet caused me or any of my neighbors a problem, but I imagine that one day it will and then someone will find the cause in my backyard for which I will now be responsible. Overall, the technicians were courteous and did a thorough job: they also used a spray head I happened to have rather than charging me for a new one. They did try to up sell me, but as this was a service call, in part, to do an overall check of my system, this seems reasonable and they weren't pushy about it. However, while analyzing my system they made comments stating that my system had clearly been installed by amateurs, was done improperly, had a lot that was wrong with it, etc. I cannot say, in good faith, that they left my house with me feeling good about the experience. I would be remiss, however, if I didn't also state that the work that was done, apart from severing the cable, was done well. I have not called back for the jet cleaning of my drains, though, because after spending $307 for the initial evaluation and work, and with what I have described above, I haven't felt comfortable that I got a good deal for the work I wanted done. Please note that as of May 26th, 2011, all of the reviews listed here for Blue Water Irrigation had been quite positive. Perhaps I got them on a bad day, or my personal inexperience with this kind of service provider has led to my being over-critical.

They have been very professional, easy to ask questions on water pressure adding/changes, etc. and have always been able to answer my questions. They have always been timely and arrived at the time speciified. I highly recommend these guys!! Also, in 2009 I bought this older home which had a terrible drainage problem. They were able to develop a logical resolution using french drains and other drainage techniques that has completely resolved our issue and has held up very well.

As I said above, overall it went well.

I think the experience was pretty positive. The only little thing that wasn't great was that they scraped out the old sod just for shovels and all the old weeds and the seeds that were down underneath and they've come up through the new sod and other than that I think we are pretty happy with the work product.

The owner of the company was on time as scheduled for the initial consult. i recieved an estimate from him prompltly with drawings to explain locatons and number of zones. the price was in line with other bids i recieved several months before. one thing that i thought set them apart from other companies was his client list. he presented me a list with 2 pages of names in my area (many of which i knew) to be used as references. I agreed to an installation date, and the deposit schedule the installation. A few weeks later i returned from a trip and noticed some little flags in my yard. upon closer inspection, i realized that they had installed the system. If the flags were not visible, i would not have even realized that someone had dug up my entire yard. They completed the job ( 9 zones front and back) in 2 or 3 days max, and left my yard looking as good as it did before they started. The owner came back out to instruct me on how to use the system. It is working flawlessly. I would recommend Blue Water.

After our home was inspected we found that due to poor drainage at the side of our house we were getting a funny smell in our bedroom when it would rain hard. (This was due to water coming into the weep holes) We also noticed that almost every time it rained for more than an hour there was a little pond in our back yard that would stay for a day or two. I interviewed a few landscape/drainage companies- and I actually heard about Blue Water from a one of the landscape guys who said that he didn't feel comfortable doing French drains, but he had seen Blue Water working at another one of his client's yards and thought that they were doing a good job. Neel Bonner, the head of Blue Water came to look assess our yard and drew a diagram on graph paper detailing the work and cost. I ended up choosing Blue Water not only b/c they had the lowest bid, but because Neel was very professional and knowledgeable, I felt like he had the experience to do the job. The work crew was punctual, respectful, and did a great job. Blue Water arranged for the gas company to come and mark the gas lines prior to the work and they also arrange for the city to come and inspect the pipes once they had been placed in the ground. The entire process was very smooth and took in total about 3-4 days. I felt comfortable not being at home with the workers were here. I had no problems reaching Neel when I had questions. The job was done at the end of October and since then we have had no smell in our house, and no ponds in the backyard even when it rains for days! The drainage boxes are well designed and placed and do not require much maintenance (one in a while I clear off a few leaves from the top of the box). This has been one of our best investments for our house. I highly recommend Blue Water to anyone who needs drainage work done.

I like the work that these people do. They are very professional and do an excellent job. They are very fast paced workers, and I do believe that they know exactly what they are doing. I love my sprinkler system and these guys are very well trusted with it. I would not ever consider switching companies and do not ever plan on it. I cannot quite give a price because things vary from time to time, but I feel it is overall said to be reasonable in my book.
