Our central A/C quit with a bang, literally. (I don't know WHY it failed; it was only 26 years old!) Since the weather was pleasant, I had the opportunity to research and to obtain three bids. I contacted the company that had maintained my system for 20+ years plus two companies from Angie's List. Phil Miller of Bellaire A/C & Heating provided a detailed estimate, as well as good advice about central A/C in an open-plan house like mine. Although I selected another Angie's List contractor, I was pleased with the service and professionalism offered by Bellaire A/C & Heating.

They came the day after I contacted them. They were prompt, pleasant and very helpful. I would absolutely call them again.

They were on time, efficient, neat, polite, and gave us a discount for doing the work in a more favorable season(not summer). After just one week we can tell the difference from the work done. It will take a year to tell if it makes an overall difference in both heating and cooling. They had done work for us before about 12 years ago that was also acceptable.

The were on time, very friendly, did the work quickly; less than an hour. Most of all they give off a good vibe, the kind of company you want to have in your corner.

At first we had a problem with a no show serviceman, but we understand the problem employee is no longer with Bellaire. They did a good inspection of the attic and recommended a new unit. They gave us options as to the type of unit. Since we didn't get an alternate bid, we don't know if this was reasonable or not--in Houston in August, it's too hot to shop around! They were professional and careful of the landscaping.

They were on time, friendly, professional and I would use them again.

Price was orders of magnitude too high (although it was similar to many companies.) Ended up getting work done for half of Bellaire's price.

Paul came to do the work after Scott made the initial call. Paul was prompt, polite, courteous. A previous company had made a far larger estimate and was uncertain they could do this work. Paul certainly had opportunity to convince me to do more, but was honest. He had good suggestions.

All communications with the company were handled immediately and professionally, from my first inquiry call to my last scheduling call. The service technicians who provided the bid and then later came to perform the work were also extremely professional. As promised, they called about 30 minutes before arriving at the house. The initial bid and the actual repair work were done exactly when scheduled. The technicians took time to fully walk me through the process and options and enabled me to make an informed decision - and not the most expensive (thus most profitable for them) decision. My A/C system is finally functioning well - I have used it once since the repairs to pull the humidity out of the air after a rainstorm - just as promised. Bellaire A/C and Heating saved me a lot of money, did not try to convince me to get more work done than necessary, and maintained a completely professional relationship with me throughout the process. I'll definitely use them again.

BOTH VISITS WERE SCHEDULED AT MY CONVENIENCE. BRIAN, THE TECHNICIAN, CALLED THE DAY PRIOR TO CONFIRM TIME, THEN THE DAY OF VISIT TO CONFIRM TIME, AND 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO RECONFIRM HIS ARRIVAL (RIGHT ON TIME). WORK WAS THOROUGH AND COMPLETE; RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS WERE DISCUSSED AND A WRITTEN REPORT OF SAME WAS PROVIDED. VERY CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT, EXACTLY THE KIND OF WORK AND BEHAVIOR DESIRED. COMMENDABLE PERFORMANCE.

CHARLIE CAME ON-TIME THE DAY AFTER WE CALLED, AND CALLED BEFOREHAND TO MAKE SURE HE WAS STILL COMING AT A GOOD TIME. HE EXAMINED THE A/C AND FILTERS AND GAVE US ADVICE ON HOW TO KEEP OUR UNIT WORKING BETTER. OUR UNIT IS FAIRLY OLD, BUT HE DID NOT INSIST THAT WE BUY A NEW ONE, ONLY SAID THAT WE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE IT WITHIN TWO YEARS. WE WERE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH HIS PROFESSIONALISM AND TIMELINESS. WE WERE ESPECIALLY WORRIED THAT, GIVEN THE AGE OF OUR A/C, THAT THIS REPAIR MIGHT BE VERY COSTLY IF THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT HONEST. WE WERE VERY PLEASED AND RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

TWO TECHNICIANS ARRIVED AROUND 6 PM. I HAD BEEN TOLD THEY WOULD COME ''IN THE AFTERNOON'' SO I CONSIDERED THIS TO BE LATE. THE TECHNICIANS WERE BOTH VERY POLITE OLDER GENTLEMEN, WHO SEEMED QUITE COMPETENT. I JUST MOVED TO A NEW HOUSE, SO I WAS ONLY ASKING THEM TO DO A CHECK-UP. THEY FOUND NO PROBLEMS, ONLY ADDING FREON IN ONE OF THE UNITS. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS A BIT HIGH CONSIDERING THEY DIDN'T NEED TO DO MUCH.

BELLAIRE AIR CONDITIONING MADE A SPECIAL EFFORT TO COME THE DAY I CALLED, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS AFTER 5. IN ADDITION, HE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO ENSURE HE HAD THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE THERMOSTATS.

HE WAS PROMPT - SHOWED UP ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON - FRANK, AND GAVE US SEVERAL OPTIONS FROM REPLACING THE ENTIRE COMPRESSOR, TO JUST DOING IT ONE PIECE AT A TIME. HE WAS POLITE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

I GOT ESTIMATES FROM TWO COMPANIES. MR. MILLER'S ESTIMATE WAS THOROUGH AND VERY REASONABLE. THE INSTALLERS WERE RIGHT ON TIME AND VERY CAREFUL. THE WORK IS TOP QUALITY. THE COMPANY OFFERS A 5% DISCOUNT FOR SENIOR CITIZENS AND A 5% DISCOUNT FOR CASH.

WORKMEN WERE THE KIND YOU DON'T MIND HAVING IN YOUR HOME. PHIL, THE OWNER, WAS VERY PROMPT IN GIVING A BID ON THE JOB AND THEY WERE ABLE TO SCHEDULE THE JOB WITHIN A WEEK OF MY CONFIRMING THAT I WANTED THEM TO DO THE JOB. WORKERS, ESPECIALLY BRIAN JENKINS, WAS VERY GOOD AT COMMUNICATING, SOMETHING I REALLY APPRECIATED AND DON'T ALWAYS GET FROM WORKERS. THE WORK IN THE ATTIC WAS DONE ESPECIALLY WELL. THEY ROUTED THE NEW HOSES (HUNG FROM ROOF) IN A WAY THAT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN THEY HAD BEEN ROUTED PREVIOUSLY ACROSS THE ATTIC FLOOR. THEY CHOSE NOT TO WORK IN THE RAIN BECAUSE IT WOULD JEOPARDIZE THE FREON COLLECTION (I THINK), SO AT EXTRA COST TO THEMSELVES, THEY CAME BACK NEXT DAY WHEN IT WAS DRY.

JUAN AND HELPER DID A FANTASTIC JOB! THEY WERE PUNCTUAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND WERE VERY INFORMATIVE AS TO THE ''IN'S AND OUT'S'' OF THE TASK AT HAND. THEY COMPLETED THE JOB WITH TIME TO SPARE AND CLEAN-UP WAS EXCELLENT! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

GREAT PRICES, GOOD WORK QUALITY. HE HAS PUT A NEW SYSTEM IN MY HOME, RE-DONE THE DUCT WORK AND REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE.
