ARS Rescue Rooter Houston

There was nothing good that ARS / Rescue Rooter Houston did for me. I was referred to them by my Home Insurance. My home repair didn't cover it because it was out in the yard so it was between me and ARS. The city came out and said that just the elbow needs replacing. They said that the whole pipe from the water meter all the way to the house needs replacing. They kept giving me better quotes. It started at $3000 and finally got down to $2200. I asked them to just fix the elbow and he said that his manager wouldn't let him do that. I found another place that did it for $120.

We were pleased with the service. They showed up on time and had a good price. We have used them frequently.

They've been good to work with. They're dependable and they do a good work. I had them replace 2 heaters but their estimated prices were double with what I got with another company. I knew it would cost much money. I mean they gotta make money so sometimes they charge too much. So I never called them back. They were asking for $5,000 and I got it done from another company for less than $3,000. But their prices were fair. They were the first ones to take the A/C apart and they guy was on it for 2 hours. They did a good job on that.

I have worked with this company in the past (4 times), but it was simply due to cost. The are typically late and inflate the work and cost. On occasion, ARS has A/C and heater inspection deals for $29.99. However, as history serves me correct, once the workman arrived, he made numerous suggestions. For example, one year they suggested that I purchased parts and re-route lines. Many of the suggestions were cosmetic and over priced. This time, I received a $50 coupon in the mail. We decided to use the coupon to clean the kitchen faucet line. In July, we installed a new water heater. There was debris in the water line and the debris has now slowed down the flow of water in our kitchen faucet. When the ARC workmen arrived, he was late as usually! This is a reoccurring problem for the company. Even though they called to give you a window (8:00 am to 12:00 pm), they still seemed to run late. This time they arrived at 12:45 pm. Once he arrived, the workman criticized the installation of the water heater stating that the cost to reinstall the water heater would cost roughly $1,200. Mind you, he was there was the faucet! Once he checked the faucet and suggested $275.00 of work, I asked him to leave. Before leaving he mentioned that he could replace the line for $75.00. Overall, he left without charging me a service fee.

Air conditioner stopped working. ARS came right out and repaired the AC drain that had stopped/clogged up.

Respond to a warranty call. AC went down 6 times in a month and a half. Unit was installed by ARS but technicians were unable to diagnose problem on unit still under warranty. I had an independent technician suggested by manufacturer inspect the install and stated that it was installed wrong (electrical errors). After dealing with ARS for weeks I decided to use there 100 percent money back guarantee if not satisfied. ARS keeps delaying decision on whether or not they will honor their "Exceptional Service Guarantee". I had two ARS technicians document that they felt that it was installed wrong on their paperwork.

Upon arrival provided what I felt was a fair price for the work to be done. First he removed the leaking dishwasher supply valve and replaced with a new quarter-turn valve and reconnected the dishwasher. Next he removed the range supply valve (no longer within code) with a modern ball valve and then connected the range. After testing for leaks at both ends of gas line, he verified that the range worked.

This same provider had misdiagnosed the problem previously, cleaning out the same line several times, and charging us for those services each time. This time they finally realized the pipe itself needed to be replaced since it had lost connection with the drain receptacle and was misaligned. They fixed it in a reasonable period of time and gave us a slight discount.

The two guys arrived on time. I told them about an "elevator" I have in the attic to lower / raise a pendant lantern in our 2 story entry and that it was important to cover it. He indicated no problem as they also cover all the can lights and protect the a/c units and furnaces and the water tank. They covered the entry and rugs with a plastic sheet. they tried to keep the front door closed as much as possible (since there were hoses that had to come in through the front and up the stairs and into the attic). They completed the work in two hours as promised. They cleaned up everything and we have noticed already that the upstairs does not get as warm during the day (and it's been really hot!).

We got frisked by ARS. The original call promised a $77 service call charge. When the plumber/tech arrived he explained that the charge would be $185 and the coupon rate didn't include this work. After running the snake across backyard drain lines and attempting to run an electric snake up the drain from the street, he was unsuccessful in clearing the stoppage which was apparently caused by a drain pipe collapse. He estimated cost to replace the drain line with PVC at the ridiculous price of $3250, minus a "5% senior discount". All in all, we were charged $370 for unsuccessful work over a span of about 1.5 hours.

They completely frauded me and came up with an answer to all these problems that I had that was not at all the problem. Ultimately this did not make any sense to me and he was trying to tell me I need a whole system. I called the friend and he called over friend of his and we were then four a/c people at my house within few hours and they looked at it and said now the problem is your air compressor and we will just replace the motor and everything works fine. ARS actually said they couldn't even test part of it because it was too hot and they left and I said you just just there is a hose out here and you can cool it off. I would never use them again.

Everything went OK. I approved of the price. I will call him later.

They came out quickly. They're efficient and professional and they a good job and high quality.

They were fine. They were a bit expensive, but the work was well done.

It took a long time to get anywhere near the efficiency of the old one.

They do a job but they try to sell me something each time the come out.

They did good work. The servicemen did a very good job. They were very helpful and I would use them again.

They are great. They are prompt and trustworthy.

I used them the same day I looked online. A friend of mine was using them for her air conditioning. She liked them, so I called them. They were professional. He had all the materials. He was not too quick on the time. That was the only negative. Otherwise, the guy was really nice, he gave me a discount when I told him I was on Angie's list. He was really nice. No more problems.

I have been using them for a while. I like their services but it depends with the people that they send off. I can always call. I tell them that I was not pleased with the service then they would send somebody else to check. I had a problem with the people who installed my air conditioner but they came back and fixed it. They are very professional.

A R S Rescue Rooter was very quick, on time, efficient and professional. They even looked at a couple of little extra things since they were out here. They were over and above what I expected.

We used to have a service contract with ARS to maintain our heat and air system. We had let it lapse, but since they had worked on our system before, I decided to go with them again. I called on Friday afternoon (4pm) to have someone look at our downstairs AC because it was freezing up and not cooling. They told me they couldn't give me a time window because it was so late in the afternoon, but that they would get to me that night and they would call before they arrived. No one ever showed. When I called on Saturday morning, they told me they had tried to call me twice to reschedule. Considering I had my cell phone with me the entire time and there were no missed calls and no voicemails, I don't believe this happened. After some discussion on this topic, we agreed to disagree with each other. They then told me that they would have someone to the house between 10a-2p on Saturday. They never showed. I called back at 2 and they said the schedule said they would have someone there after 4. Again, a little more discussion, I was put on hold and then a supervisor got on the phone. They were able to find a service tech and he was on his way. This time the person showed up. He was nice and polite. He went up into the attic and within 5 minutes came back down to tell me I needed a new system and that a salesman would be over in the next hour to hour and a half to give me a quote. I'm still haven't seen a salesman. To be fair, I wasn't going to buy a system from them even if they had showed up. Needless to say, I called someone else and they showed up on time and had a new system installed the same day they came buy. I won't be calling ARS for anything in the future.

Price quoted was twice as much as the two other quotes I got. Very simple service needed. Wall was open because we are replacing tile in bathroom. Quote was the highest of any plumber I checked with baby two fold... When I told the guy the price was high he said " well look lady, plumbing is expensive" went with another plumber and had both bathroom valves replaced along with the drains and they came back and did all the fixtures after the tile man had come and the price was still cheaper for all the work I had done..... All my work for less then what they wanted for one valve!! Not pleased with the response of the service person.... I felt like because I was a woman that he doubted I knew what I was doing....that is just plain rude and ugly... I've been a homeowner for a long time and have had lots of work done on my home and don't appreciate a company degrading a woman just because I look helpless... Not good in my book. Will never call this company again....for anything

He arrived early and was thorough in fixing my shower that had frozen due to hard water.
