Was approached by a gentleman at Home Depot to see if I was interested in having an AC system check for 29.99. I agreed and scheduled an appoint for the same day. They gave me a 2 hour window so I sat at home and never got the promised courtesy call. This went on for a few days back and forth. A technician finally came out 3 days later and claimed to check my system top to bottom. He said everything looked great, left his card and said if anything at all pops up please don’t hesitate to call. 2 days later my a/c could not keep up. It hovered between 78-81° and the ac was constantly running. This made me call Torres A/C who came out and did the same Check about a week later and guess what? My system is as about 8-10 lbs low of coolant and there was a leak in the evaporator. The 2 scenarios are 1. ARS didn’t really check my ac and lied or 2. ARS’ tech was telling the truth and created a leak so they would get the call to fix it. Either way I’ll never deal with them again nor should you

When I scheduled the appointment last week with ARS, I was told by customer service that the installation service for garbage disposal would be $280, and the $50 Home Depot coupon could be used—a total of $230. I called August 9 to make the appointment for 8/10/24 6-9 pm. The plumber, never showed up. I spoke with ARS customer service several times on Sunday, August 11th, and was told again that the service would get to my house on August 11 between 6-9 pm. Before installing the garbage disposal, the plumber stated that the price would be $532.40. I declined due I was told by ARS it would be $280 minus the $50 coupon. This guy was pushing, saying I would have to pay him to come to my house……. This plumber, Kyle, grabbed my old garbage disposal without my permission putting it into the box where I had the new one, and took it outside to his truck, which made it seem like he was trying to steal it from me. Overall, the plumber performed a poor-quality job. My sink still overflows with water, as it did before with the oldest garbage disposal. The same issues remain, and he did not fix anything. I have never experienced such lousy service before. I have spoke with the ARS account department, Mr. Richard to requested a refund. I will not call the Home Depot ARS services ever again.

I am Extremely Disappointed in the entire company of ARS!!! I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING YOUR COMPANY TO ANYONE!!! The sales person Mr. Williams and the expensive equipment that works great are overthrown by the Crappy service your dispatch/managers/and repair GC's y'all use. Poor communication, false promises of what company can do, improper scheduling and rescheduling without notifying me! My installment of both Duct work and Condenser unit took place on Memorial weekend, Yes I know it's a holiday weekend and I acknowledged that with my sales rep Mr. Williams but he made the phone calls and while on speaker the warehouse person Eric agreed we would have two crews fast install and none of that happened. Instead my Family and I were forced to find a hotel at midnight! And not one supervisor called to explain why crews did not show up on time and even went as far as lying saying they were at my house @ 330pm but proven on cameras they didn't show till 6pm. Now trying to get a BIG WIG on the phone to express my frustrations I am given the run around and no call backs!!! So to All who read this looking for a Great company to get AC work FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!! THIS COMPANY IS NOT IT!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR THE SITUATION YOUR IN! ARS was disappointing. I wanted to have a major plumbing company as a choice for repairs to use on emergencies, but it proved to not be reliable the way I was hoping. It started really well, the estimator came home within the agreed window and provided a price for the repair (same estimate as another major company). I was given an appointment of 8-12 on NYE and a promised courtesy call 30 min prior to coming to the home. in short, the repair crew did not show up and I did not get the courtesy call explaining that the crew was tied up for an emergency. When the dispatch Called back (replying to my call), we agreed that it was best to cancel.
Description of Work: repair to my main line. I may try them again another time, everyone messes up sometimes.

I’m very unhappy with the service ars have provided when installing our HVAC unit. It was installed incorrectly and leaked carbon monoxide into our home for weeks before it was noticed and red tagged by the local gas company. It was negligent and put my family in danger. I have tried to contact the company representative for weeks with no response. Only response until the got a signed contract the ghosted. I will be looking at my options to take legal action. I’ve reported to BBB and I will have my attorney draft a demand letter and start the arbitration process soon.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY: ARS installed a new HVAC system for me this past summer. Way over-priced, $19,000. Along with the installation they installed a NEST thermostat. My AC stopped working a few weeks after installation. Technician came out and said that the drain line was clogged. Still not working. Another technician came out and said that the drain line was not connected properly. Fast forward to the present day. Houston had its first cold snap and I went to turn the heater on. The NEST thermostat did not have a heating option! Technician came out and said that the wire for the heater was not in the correct place. He told me that new heating coils take a while to warm up and the heat would be on shortly...he left. Still no heat! Another technician came out and said that they did not install heat tape and I would not have heat until the following day (today). Stay tuned for their next explanation as to why they're horrible. ARS will reply to this review with their generic language about how good they are and will offer no resolution. So let me repeat, DO NOT USE ARS!!!!! Maybe this review will shed some light on what a horrible company ARS is. Good luck!

ARS is absolutely an awful company, that exploit people. It happens that my evaporator coil has a leak. ARS resorted to replace and install the coil for a whooping sum of $5200.00. They even gave a worst option of replacing the evaporator coil with condesing unit for over $12000.00, even though, the condensing unit was in a good condition. Replacing an evaporator coil for over $5000 is insane. ARS provided a receipt that depicted two weeks of installation period whereas the coil was installed within 3 hours. They call this insane high charges their standard. Don't fall into their trap, I do not recommend them.

My AC unit still on the warranty for parts. Technician who repaired this unit did - Heat Pump Capacitor Replacement - Contactor Replacement The time for tnis labor was less then 1 hour. Why ARS charged me for $600???? How is possible that labor cost to replace 2 small parts in AC unit $600/h???

At 9:12am they received my request, I was contacted at 9:58am and scheduled for my service between 12:00pm and 2:00pm At 12:48pm I received a call that they were running late and they would arrive by 4:00pm, someone would call me 40 -50 minutes before the arrival. At 3:21pm I called and I was told they would arrive by 5:00pm they were running late again! At 4:21pm I called again and I was told that it would be 7pm or later I asked for a manager and there was no manager available. At 5:45pm I received the last call where I was told they were still waiting for final confirmation and would check to see if anyone was available to come out or not, that's when I told her to cancel the appointment and left it at that. It is extremely frustrating that they assign appointments not knowing if they would be able to make it or not just to get the business and make other good rated companies lose the opportunity to service customers that need a service done that was urgently needed.

Our downstairs furnace had stopped working. We called ARS and they came out same day. Told us we needed to replace inducer fan motor and safety pressure switch. A total of $1,627 was quoted. No warranty. They would have to get parts and come back the next day. After waiting until noon (they were supposed to let us know before then) we called again and they told us we were on the schedule for next day. The next morning we get a call from ARS and they tell us one part is in stock, the other is "backordered 4-6 weeks". What's the next best option? Why replacing the furnace completely of course! That's when we had another company come out to get a second quote. Can you imagine how surprised we were to find out that the parts listed as needing to be replaced were completely fine? In fact, it was a wiring short that was remedied for $109. ARS Rescue Rooter is a bunch of deceitful scumbags.

Unbeknownst to me, the workers who replaced the coil (Sat 6/25) did not reconnect the condensation drain line, resulting in water soaking the ceiling in the bedroom. The first person who came out (Sun 6/26) totally missed that the drain wasn't connected, told us it was a duct that was damaged, but told the service dept at ARS that it was the overflow pan. We had to turn off the AC to prevent further damage. A supervisor finally came out (Mon 6/27), spotted the disconnected drain line, and fixed it. But, meanwhile, we have holes in the ceiling that were cut by the Sunday tech to let the water drain and try to locate the source of the water, a large stain, and had to kennel our dog and go to a hotel. It's been a week and a half and not one person has called us to fix the ceiling or talk about reimbursing us for the kennel fee and hotel. I have made multiple calls and can never talk to customer service and customer service never calls me back.

This company seems to just be in the business of taking advantage. They were selected to replace my moms ac when it went out because we had a previous hood experience of the. Patching up the old unit. Our ac went out 2 days after my dad passed away. They were quick to come out initially. Took until 10pm for them to have the new unit up and running, came back the next day to replace vents. Internet went out while they were working in the attic, they said nothing was wrong with our internet line in the attic. Had att come out and had to pay to fix the disconnect they caused. They claim they’ll reimburse but they now won’t respond. We were told by multiple people they would be out 2 days later on Monday to do the insulation. Well Monday came and no one was showing up. We were then lied to by 2 people saying it was because the truck broke down. After continuous calls and transfers turn out there was no broken down truck and they had switched us to the following day. They finally decided to do insulation that day but didn’t come out until after 12. They damaged the trim around the attic door which now is causing heat to escape into the hallway and causing condensation on the wall which is damaging it. Once again they claimed now a week ago they’d fix it but no one will return calls. They also left ruts in the yard from driving through part of it. I wish I’d seen the reviews on Yelp before such a costly job.

While they did good work on a difficult repiping job in early August 2020, an ARS employee and/or their representative stole $800 cash AND a fifty year-old gold college ring from our house. Houston office was notified, but no response from them. ARS Corporate office in Memphis also contacted, but none of the four workers admitted anything when contacted by the police...so nothing has been done.

My sewer line was clogged. Oscar with ARS came out and told me the line had broken. Charged me just shy of $5,000. The line was not broken. He is a scam artist. City engineer came out to inspect and gave him the thumbs up. Of course, Oscar got the thumbs up as all he did was clear the clog and dig a hole in my yard to make it look like a pipe was replaced. I didn’t pay it the final bill and ARS filed an Affidavit of Claim lien on my house. DO NOT USE THIS FRAUDULENT service.

We had a terrible experience with this company, and we would not recommend them. We had a really bad backup, with a toilet and bathtub backing up, along with a couple of sinks gurgling. They came out and sent a camera out into our pipe that goes from the house to the city tie-in. They said debris was getting caught in the welds on our cast iron pipe, and said that our pipe was buckling up. They said it would be $10,000 minimum to dig it up and replace with PVC because of all our trees. They said the only answer was to put in a liner to smooth out the welds so debris could push through past the bend. It sorta made sense, although we knew that we actually already have PVC pipe. They wanted over $5,000 to put in this liner. They wouldn't tell us what the liner was actually made of, so it was hard to Google. The "supervisor" showed up in the middle of all this and tried to push all this on us. They did finally tell me the manufacturer of the liner. It was a real thing, but it's only guaranteed for about 10 years, so it's not a permanent solution. Plus, it degrades and creates a rough surface. Not a good solution for a small diameter pipe. I had to push really hard to get these guys to accept "No" and to leave. This happened over the weekend, and we pretty much had the big clog pushed through ourselves. We called another plumber that we trusted, and he confirmed that we had PVC pipe and that it was not bent. Everything was fine. It's been about 3 months since this incident, and all is well. They charged $75 for the visit and estimate, which many plumbers do for free.

Had ARS come out for a service call because downstairs unit seemed to not be cooling. Service tech informed me that the following repairs needed to be done: 1. 3 lbs of freon needed to be added because there was a leak in the system 2. Downstairs thermostat was broken 3. Was told by the tech that is was probably just best to replace the whole HVAC system. This estimate came to around $900 in repairs. I told the tech to leave. Proceeded to call another HVAC company they informed me there was no freon leak and the thermostat only needed to be reset. ARS are crooks! This was an absolute attempt at fraud and theft.

The technician was professional and helpful, and arrived on-time. Given the limited time spent (maybe 45 minutes), it felt more like an inspection than a tune-up for my 4-ton (downstairs) and 3-ton (upstairs) units. No cleaning of the units that I could tell or comments on the condition of my filters or refrigerant levels. He pointed out some problems that I expected and recommended a complete AC change-out for “my 10-year-old systems.” I showed him my receipts (from his company) showing the compressors were only 9 years old, which would not be much of a difference except that that meant they were still covered by their 10-year warranty. Then he changes his mind and says they did not need replacing today and were not in bad enough shape for warranty replacement. I also showed him my receipts for the evaporator coils, showing they were only 2-3 years old. He said you usually change out compressor and evaporator coils at the same time. Finally, I asked him to give me a quote anyway for replacements. He called the company and gave me a quote for two basic Carrier Comfort 16-SEER systems (4-ton plus 3-ton; compressor and evaporator coils) of $29,000+. Clearly no one who knows anything about AC systems would pay that – but someone who did not shop around might. I felt taken advantage of and actually embarrassed for the technician that the company told him to quote an off-the-chart price like that. To the company’s credit, they did respond when I pointed these things out in their post-visit survey. But the response was pretty much a form letter with no information specific to my case. They offered a complimentary Home Service Plan but that was not the issue. Since I have used the company before, I suspect they mostly do quality work - maybe even work worth paying a little extra for. And like many companies, they provide discounts for tune-ups knowing it will generate more lucrative business down the line - like selling replacement systems. That is all fine. But their replacement system pricing clearly made me feel taken advantage of.

Technician spent 20 minutes doing an (unrequsted) energy audit....the effort was to up-sell me on additional products and services. Gave me initial quotes and suggested that he could call his supervisor and get me a 'DISCOUNT". I informed him I was trying to get a quote on just the additional attic space....insisted I should tell him what price I wanted to pay! ! and he would see if he could get the price approved. The process resembled that of negotiating with a used car salesman! The ARS connection came from Home Depot....will not patronize either of these firms again! Highly disappointing!

They unclogged the sewer but had to remove a commode to do it. Before they did this the commode was very stable. After they removed it they said that the flange was cracked. Their price seemed high and since it was stable before they worked on it I told them to just reinstall it. They did but it wobbled afterwards. I called the supervisor who oversaw the work and he said that he would notify dispatch and they would try to help. They never called or came back.
