Also, my shower was leaking, he changed the valve and put some new knobs he had in his truck, no charge. I do find them a bit expensive, but it's worth the service, kindness and professionalism.

Our home was built in 1991. When we purchased the home in Dec. 2013, it still had the original water heater. Last week, the water heater finally gave out and started to leak. We have a home warranty through American Home Shield, and ARS is a preferred vendor. They were timely in their response to our service request and Joe, our technician, was very knowledgeable. I selected "N/A" on price because the cost of the repair was ocvered by our home warranty. A previous company had quoted around $1000 to replace the old unit. Joe was absolutely fantastic - ARS was only scheduled to quote the repair, however he was able to install the new unit the same day. I would easily recommend his services to a friend, and will look to use his services again in the future.

I had a new 18 seer system installed for downstairs and a 16seer system for the upstairs. They arrived on time and installed systems in one day. I have had the systems for three years and no problems. Ars recommend Amana systems and I have been very pleased with both ARS and Amana.

They are prompt and always explain what they are doing.

They put coolant in as a temporary fix and when it stopped cooling again two weeks later I called another air conditioning servicer and they checked for leaks and couldn't find any but did find that the coolant was very low. They filled it worked fine. ARS was constantly trying to sale me something every time they came out.

Had no interest in doing business with this firm.

I had another incident with ARS that is detailed separately. I would use them again based on this appliance service, but had a bad experience with plumbing work so that review states that I will not use them again (for plumbing).

I had a backup in my washing machine drain line and called them out. The first guy looked at it, told me he thought there were sewer gases coming through the line and I would need a cage and a smoke test (?). He said he would call someone else to come out. 1 1/2-2 hrs later, two other guys came out. They ran a snake through the pip and told me they found roots, which indicates a broken pipe. They told me not to use the machine and gave me estimates for replacing this pipe ($8k), replacing this plus pipes in one bath ($12,5k), or replacing pipes in 2 bathrooms and this one ($17,5k). I called another firm for a second opinion. They dug out the clean out and found the top partly off and plant roots growing into the pipe from the outside. They cleaned out the roots, ran a camera through and found no breaks. Cost:$299. I have used ARS for years, but pricing has gone up & this experience has changed my mind about using them again. F for this experience, A/B for past service.

The customer service rep told me the repair rep would be out at 8am to service our LG dryer. We called customer service around 9 then 10. Finally a customer service rep said well I see he was to come repair your issue between 8am-1pm. No one told us this, they said 8am. When told we are going to be there at 8am... I expect 8am.. And if going to be late a courtesy phone would be nice. Turns out the repair rep didnt show up till 12:50pm.

ARS Rescue Rooter Houston did a good job with the diagnosis. They came our very quickly and got the job done very quickly. I thought they were kind of expensive for the work they did. If I had know what the problem was, I could have fixed it for $40.

I just purchased the house 6 months ago and my home warranty is supposed to cover this repair. I was growing weary of performing the same temporary fix (tightening a screw) so I decided to spend the money to have a plumber come to my home to repair the problem. Hector came to my home an hour late on a Monday and performed the same temporary fix I had been doing for months. When I told him I had been doing the very same thing and that it was not going to fix the problem he stated I should just call them back out again if I had the problem again. By Thursday I called back to tell them the faucet was still leaking and to please have someone come to FIX it. They scheduled my 2nd appt. between 11-3, but nobody came until after 6:30 P.M. I was not home when they arrived. Nobody called to tell me they were running late. The next day I called them to make another appt. and was scheduled for Saturday. Saturday came and Hector finally arrived on time, but he did the EXACT same thing he did the FIRST visit, which was the EXACT same thing I had been doing for months (tightening a screw). Clearly that was not working! I told him he needs to replace the part (I am a piping designer which means I know something about pipes). At that point he looked at me and asked me "Who is the licensed professional here"? I was floored. I could not believe he caught such an ugly attitude when what he was doing was NOT working. Not to mention it doesn't require a licensed plumber to tighten a screw! At that point I told him if he wasn't going to fix my problem he needed to just leave and send someone that knows what they are doing. I heard NOTHING for 2 days. I finally called my home warranty company to first tell them I NEVER again want them to use ARS for any of service calls in the future, and to then to find out what was going on. At that time they told me that parts were being ordered for my repair and that ARS would contact me when they arrived. I just hope Hector isn't the person they send back out to my home, and after the part is replaced I am completely done with this company.

All work was satisfactory, but they tend to be on the high cost end.

They came twice - I was having a problme with my tiolet - it was only 3 years old. First was told it was my tiolet paper. Second time I was told I needed a new toliet - that it was defective and it would be $1000 for a new one. I called the contractor that put in the original one and he solved the problem OVER THE PHONE!!! - The water level was not set correctly - something any plumber should of checked. I was refunded both service call fees and have not allowed them back into my houst. They were more interested in "selling" than servicing.

Work performed is an "A". Dispatch & operator is a "B-". With both service calls, we were given wrong information by the operator on time when plumber was available. In both cases, we had to call back 2-3 times to receive accurate expectation of plumber's arrival. In both cases, plumber was efficient, thorough, gave us alternative solutions with good cost estimates, and completed difficult work in reasonable time.

Beware of the $49 Drain Cleanout Coupon (fine print) on their website. I called to set up an appointment for my son's house and clearly explained to the rep where the drain cleanout for my son's sink was location (under sink on back wall). She stated, no problem, the coupon would be valid for this service which is also advertised for a 60-minute Service. After six hours, six phone calls, two techs final show up and look at my drain issue...the lead tech says that the $49 Coupon would not be valid for this service due to the cleanout must be external on outside of house for them to set up their machine. To do the service when the cleanout in internal requires them to put down water protection mats, etc. and the cost for this would be $235. I explained that I had clearly discussed the location of my cleanout with rep when setting the appointment and he said, ' yea, they had a lot of complaints about the coupon wording". I told them I would not pay the high cost and they got in their truck and left my property. Next day called another plumbing service that offered a coupon discount for drain cleaning and explained the drain cleanout location/issue and the rep said that was covered under the coupon as long as I had an accessible cleanout. Their tech came out, right on time, put on shoe protectors when he entered my house, did not have to put down any extra water protection mats, inserted his plumbing snake tool into the cleanout, in the back wall under the cabinet, cleared the drain clog, made absolutely no mess with any water spillage or anything and was complete and gone within 20 minutes.

I was very pleased with the service...they did my job for free..they said the part I needed for my hot water heater was on recall..even though I hadn't bought the hot water heater from them...I was very pleased with their honesty and they fixed it promtly

Bi-annual cleaning and check up of AC.

I have used the residential portion of ARS for 15 plus years and will not use anyone else. That is how pleased I am. I have a high end residence, very expensive home and additions, and ARS is absolutely great at taking care to be careful and do a first class job. Their system and communication is great.

I called ARS to have new piping put in my bathroom sink since I had the old metal pipes. The technician said that they would have to cut through the sheetrock under the sink and they were unable to replace that, but he could duct tape it. While he was there he pointed out that my sink was starting to deteriorate. Long story short he replaced the sink, pipes and faucet. I waited 12 hours to use per their instructions and it leaked. They came back and said it was fixed and after the 12 hours it still leaked. Second time, the same story and still leaked. The 3rd time an older technician came out and took the time to examine and found the cause was under the sink not on the top around the faucet. Even though it was finally fixed I still check under the sink with a flashlight everytime I wash my face checking for leaks. That does not instill confidence in their workmanship.

I had a leaking outside pipe. After 4 calls (they had the wrong address and then wrong information) someone came to my house. After turning off the water to the house, he quoted $325 to fix the leak. I looked at the pipe under the house and saw that it only went to the garden hose. He was giving me lengthy reasons on why it was worth it to "do it right" instead of just checking to see what I needed. It was quite a hard sales pitch. The service is advertised as "no cost to come out to you" but I gave him $20 for his time. While I would have done that anyway, I felt very pressured by him.

Will never use this company again. Will never recommend this company.

The technician arrived promptly, and punctually. He was very competent and won my confidence. He had the replacement ice make in his truck. The replacement was done very quickly.

Terriffic!! Great technicans, fast, prompt, courteous service. And I now have great water pressure from the kitchen faucet.

First of all I want to make sure that this review is for ARS that everyone knows as either 281 or 713 777-7777. That is who I am doing this review for. I don't want any mistakes here. I want to make sure that nobody gets a bad rap for what these horrible people did. We had a stopped up sink in the guest bathroom and had tried to unstop it ourselves but could not. We called ARS because we had used them before for our A/C system and had paid over $5,000 to overhaul our A/C issues with them previously and had some good results. However, when we had ARS come out for the clogged drain it was a totally different story. Not sure if they were having a "sales" contest or what, but the guy told us it would cost us over $50,000 (YES THAT'S FIFTY THOUSAND). We have the written estimate to fix the problem. He said we had "belly's" all up under our house and that if we didn't fix it now we would come home one day with poo poo water flooding our house. My brother is in the home building industry so he recommended we call John Moore, so we did. They came out and showed us everything on camera and proved to us that nothing was "unusual" and that everything was flowing under the house as it was supposed to. Prior to that a "P trap" had been installed by one of the first ARS techs that had arrived before the money hungry tech did, so the situation was resolved just like that!! I tried to take it further up the chain to see if I could make a difference within the company. Nobody cared. I kept getting passed from one ignorant person to another. If we had been an elderly couple who did not know any better, or perhaps a single person who did not know what else to do, we may have fallen for such a blatant attempt to fleece us out of our money. Our plumbing is perfectly fine now. We still are in shock at the way we were treated by these people. We would definitely NOT RECOMMEND ARS TO ANYONE. We will never use them again for any service.

Once the parts arrived he came back right away. What I like is when you have services to be completed you are their first priority.
