I had purchased the drain hose for my LG Washer but called ARS to install it. At first they said they did not work on LG applicanes but on the same call said they would do this job because it was simple and I had the part. The tech came out and sucessfully installed the drain hose I had purchased. There were no problems accessing the washing machine in my laundry room. He ran one spin cycle after the installation to insure the hose wasn't leaking and it wasn't. In total, he was at my house around 20 minutes. After the service was completed, I got a call about the price and was surprised how much it was. My nephew had let the service tech in so I was not at the home when this repair was done. The receipt the tech left had no detail other than "Installed Cust Part", "Replaced Drain Line" and "Ran check OK". I felt for 20 minutes work in an easy-access work environment, the price was high.

Came promptly as a result of being a sub-contractor for Home Depot. Provided an excessive cost estimate to replace our 40 Gallon Water Heater. Wanted $1905 to install a $357 heater. Itemized the parts, charging 800% markup on the Home Depot cost of the exact same items at Home Depot. For example the Thermal Expansion tank was $38 at Home Depot, ARS wanted to charge $389. Water drip pan cost was between $9.50 and $25. ARS cost was $162. A survey of our neighborhood website had most of our neighbors being charged between $750 and $1100 for the same work. Think that since it was leaking, and in The Woodlands, he excessively marked up the job. I also called a local plumber and got a $950 estimate all inclusive. Also tried to upsell two tank less systems for $6200 claiming that in the next two years, there will no longer be tanked system allowed, and we will have to get both tank based systems replaced. Will never use ARS again.

ARS Rescue Rooter was the contractor suggested by Home Depot to install a replacement water heater in my home. Before purchasing the water heater, I phoned ARS for a bid and was told by the company's representative that they would need to first visit my home and a**** the job. They would then give me a "free" estimate. We made an appointment for the estimate. The ARS technician arrived on time. He was courteous and professional, however his estimate seemed to be extremely high. I contacted a local contractor. They offered to install the water heater for much less than ARS if I purchased the unit myself.. They completed the job for one third the price quoted by ARS (the total price of the installation included the purchase of the water heater.) One example of ARS's excessive charges was for obtaining a permit from the city. ARS proposed charging $155 for a permit that cost $20. The work by the local contractor passed city inspection without requiring any changes.

My only complaint with them is that even though they do what they said they would do they always suggest 30 more things that you don't need to do. Their last visit was fine but they suggested quite a few other things that I think we didn't need and didn't want. we've used them in the past on an emergency and they came out and took care of it. So I continue to use them. I would recommend them. Their work is fine, their price is average but they are a business so they tend to recommend as much as they can. We have a maintenance agreement with them and we pay a yearly fee so they don't charge us for inbetween calls and they give discounts on parts and 2 free inspections a year. No problems.

ARS originally did the work in December 2012 to replace a clogged and corroded main drain for $7,500. When we went to sell the house in May 2014 a buyer hired Hendly/Muncey to do a static leak test. They found a leak in the same area while running static leak test and proposed a $12,000 fix. ARS quickly came out, went under slab and fixed the leak for no cost. Thank you to John Eccles and Billy Whittington for their professional handling of the matter!

He found the problem was the 3 phase electricy was out. The thing that upset me was he tried to find something else that needed to be done. Said my A/C needed to be replaced. He tried to sell me without being upfront about it a heating and A/C unit for $12,900. I have delt with ARS for over 30 years. Just going through my house to find another job to do ticked me off. Excellent plumbers though. They are good men.

30 seconds in the attic and he states: "$4500 to replace all the duct work. And, after checking rest of system, gives estimates from $11 thousand to 15 to 19 thousand dollars. And then the replacement duct work. Not a charm school graduate. Shook his hand and sent him on his way. No way. Got the work done for under $5000.00, and the duct work was ok.

In response to my initial call, Mr. John Singletary arrived at the promised time and discussed my concerns of the job to be done. I stood over his shoulder as the camera showed the roots clogging the drain. The camera also showed that the line toward the front of the house was clear. Shortly after that two workers arrived and began the digging process. The old drain was re[laced with a larger drain. It was hot and muggy but the process was completed in about 3 1/2 hours and to my satisfaction. The dirt was filled in and patches of grass replaced. The parts and labor are warranted for 10 years.

They did absolutely nothing!!

All was pre-quoted before it was done and the work has never exceeded the estimates. All work was performed professionally and work area was clean before they left. They will be always will be first choice when I need a plumber.

they show up on time, and if they can't the TECH calls you not someone in the office that cannot answer your questions. they are very knowledgeable about all the different brands of items. If they run into a problem they don't know about they will call their supervisors and he will show up promptly to help fix problems. They are not the cheapest, but in my opinion I don't mind paying for the best. Techs are courteous, clean, know what they are doing and most of all they clean up behind themselves. I would recommend ARS to anyone, I have never had a problem with them. One time I had a toilet that was flushing all by itself, my husband called another plumber, they made 11 trips and never found the problem. I then called ARS they were here the next day, because it was not deemed an emergency, and within 30 minutes he told me that the tank probably had a hairline crack in it. He put red food coloring in the tank, told me not to use that toilet, left and came back 1-1/2 hours later and the water in the bowl was pink. Toilet replaced problem fixed. That is basically how everything is handled, they explain everything to you in words that you can understand and when they finish they ask if you understand what they have explained to you. If you don't understand they will use simpler language.

They first had one of ther men come to replace a bad water heater. He did that but nothing else. He is no longer with the company. I called ARS and explained what was done and that resulted in this call. They came out and installed the retention pan with drain under the water heater as required by code and corrected the Gas line as required by code. The also re ran the vent to correct a issue. The also fixed the inlet water pipe valve and corrected the vent flow that comes from the top of the water heater. In other words they did everything that should have been done on the first instalation. It took them about 3 hrs and when done they cleaned up and the job looked very proffesional. And the Price was right. Next to nothing as a way there manager said to appoligise for the unprofessional work done by the firt worker. They only charged a trip charge which I thought was extremely gracious of them. Will use them again. I also used them to replace old cast iron water pipeing in the attic. They came when promised and replaced the pipeing as promised. There are no more leaks and that worry is gone. The price was expensive but worth haveing the worry gone. They wer clean neat and professional and cleaned up after themselfs and hauled off the salvage pipe.

As soon as the plumber took the toilet off he knew immediately what the problem was, He gave me an estimate and I had the work done. He was very efficient and completed the job quickly. I have not had the problem since.

Current special was $49 for 1 main line clog clearing. Jerred was our service technician - on time, very courteous, professional, clean. Did the job - did not upsell - VERY happy.

They are so amazing that the president of the company became involved and came to my "rescue" - maybe that's why they have that name ;-) I have nothing but great things to say about this company and their employees - they go over and above.

It wasn't a fun thing to have happen, but they did a good job and I think the price was fair for what they had to do.

Drains running fine now. I thought he would put a 'snake' through the pipes, he just removed the stopper and cleaned the debris from it. Not happy that he left the sinks dirty, did not replace items back under sink, and left my bathroom bucket very dirty! We will use this company again because of our home warranty

I have a big issue with them. An item wasn't covered in my gas fireplace and they were going to charge me $1200 to repair it. So while they were looking around and fixing some other things in my bathroom I called some other plumbers who told me they could come by within 30 minutes and charge me $400. So they're known to be big rip off people. They always find something wrong. It's been a couple of years since I used them and I wouldn't let them back in my house. American Home Shields sent them out and when they came they said the item that was broken wasn't covered in their services but they would be happy to fix it for me and they charged me $1200. The guy who came out was nice enough.

It was great. He told me he could replace the inside. I had Katy plumbing and they replaced in the inside, He told me the equipment was wrong from when I bought it. He didn't push me to do anything. He just lowered the water level. he did not charge me anything. he said he didn't fix anything. Gave me a price for changing to right equipment. this is the company I love. toilet is still running okay and it has been 2-3 months ago.

We have called ARS repeatedly over the years for plumbing and AC issues. This has been a crazy thing to do. The individual technicians make little effort to disguise the fact that they are compensated based on the size of the "sale" they make, so there is never any sense that one is getting disinterested advice or being shown all the alternatives. Sometimes the technicians seem competent, which would be comforting except that they usually do so by expressing dismay at what the last ARS representative did to the AC or the plumbing. They never have any record of past work performed, which reinforces the impression of inept management occasionally mitigated by honest or competent (though sometimes inarticulate or functionally non-English speaking) individual representatives.

WORK NOT PROFESSIONAL FOR THE PRICE THAT WAS CHARGE, I EXPECTED TO PAY HIGH PRICE BECAUSE I HAD USE THEM PREVIOUS, THE FIXTURE THAT WAS REPLACE WAS LOWER GRADE THEN WHAT I HAD AND THE WATER LINES IN THE ATTIC WERE LAYED OUT LIKE ELECTRIC CABLES.

ARS tech came out and tried to fix the clog in the sink in the Master Bathroom. The clog was bad that it had backed-up into the opposite sink and the bath-tub. We could not use the sinks or tub, and the back up was dirty and smelled bad. ARS could not resolve the issue and said he needed to leave for another job. Said he had customers with more important problems. Said he would return later that day. Could not make it later that day, so said he would come out sometime the next week. He was booked for the following day. Okay, I called the next day and talk to the Tech's supervisor, who also confirmed that they did not have time for me that day. I then called another plumbing service, which sent someone (master plumber) out within the half hour. As he arrived, assessed the problem and went to his truck to get his tools, an ARS truck drives up to work on the problem. This plumber with the other company told them we now have the situation under control. I ask the ARS tech to leave. The new company identified the problem immediately, fixed it within thirty minutes and was on their way. First of all, I am a 15 year plus customer of ARS and I also carry the privileged home plan. No one ever called to follow-up on the issue or the poor service. I have now changed over to the new company and will always be dealing with a master plumber, not a journeyman.

Did a great job, controls were under warranty so no charge for relacement controls. I am not positive on the date of service.

The initial visit was good and I was pleased but the installation was incomplete and our dishwasher stopped working due to a plug that was left in the installed disposal unit. We had to call them out a second time to make it right. They came out and did fix it but I don't feel it should have been necessary...so a B rating.
