Great and he was very knowledgeable. He discovered the problem and offered a variety of solutions. In the end we agreed it would make more financial sense to buy a new dryer.

He came out and discovered that the repair would cost more than it would to replace it. The refrigerator was pretty old and parts would have probably been hard to locate as well. He was professional and I have no complaints about the service and I would recommend to others.

It turned out Dryer was fine but there was an electrical problem between the breaker box and the appliance plug. Technician disassembled dryer, and cleaned and lubricated. He then confirmed the electrical problem and referred me to an electrician.

I appreciated his looking at it and making some recommendations as to things that could be done. He had not removed this type of icemaker before so I decided to look at a couple of other repair companies. He did not charge me anything for the visit and diagnosis.

Strange and unsatisfactory process to secure an appointment. You submit your details online. An acknowledgment stating they are now scheduling appointments between x and y and you need to provide availability at a specific - not a range of - time. You send this back and hear nothing. You inquire about status to hear that no one else s available at that time. Please try again for a future date...no way to actually talk to someone- just via email. I gave up and picked another provider. Not how I prefer to schedule appts.

The tech diagnosed the issue with my refrigerator water filter system and returned at the next available appointment time to make the repair as the broken part was not one that they commonly carry. He arrived a few minutes early to each appointment, completed the work in a timely manner and left everything clean. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs appliance repair.

The technician from Appliance Service of Houston arrived on time and knew the cause of my refrigerator 's problem as soon as he saw the ice build up. He fixed the problem and cleaned up after he was finished.

He called and said the described issues would likey cost just as much to repair as would a new appliance. We opted to buy a new washer. I greatly appreciated his honesty.

Tolen responded to my service request right away and came out very quickly. He diagnosed the problem, explained what he needed to do. The only bad thing was that the service call was on Friday afternoon and the frig needed to be turned off for at least 24 hrs. for all the ice to melt so that he could get to the parts. So, I had to put everything in ice chests through the weekend. He came out on Monday - even arriving 1/2 hour earlier which was great - and completed the repair. I highly recommend them.

This was the second time Tolen had performed an appliance repair for us. I don't remember the exact date of the work performed, though it was only a couple months ago. My wife and I were talking about home maintenance and repairs last night and I realized I had not given him a review for this work, and he certainly deserves every positive review I can provide. Previously he worked on our refrigerator/freezer. His friendly and professional demeanor makes him a pleasure to deal with. He arrived on time and prepared to perform the necessary work. His prices are very fair. We will continue to contact Tolen Hilliard and Appliance Service of Houston for future appliance repairs as needed.

Tolen was very punctual. He diagnosed my problem for free. Unfortunately, he doesn't repair freon leaks. Very professional.

The problem was tricky and not easy to figure out, but Tolen was professional in attacking the problem. He methodically went step-by-step, and got the refrigerator working again. Here are some things that I liked about his approach: 1) He was patient. Many other company repair men seem like they want to get in and out of your house as fast as possible, and never want to come back. Tolen gave me advance notice what to do the day before his visit to make the job go as efficiently as possible, but he didn’t hesitate to schedule a return visit to be methodical about figuring out the problem. 2) He honored his 90-day warranty. In fact, I was a little late in reporting a tricky recurrence of the problem. Even though I called a few days after the 90-day warranty expired, and even though the fix included a new part and extra labor, he did the fix at no extra charge. 3) He made suggestions on other small parts to replace while he was in the main compartment. He was proactive about replacing other old parts that might fail soon. For a few extra bucks on parts and no extra labor, he did replacements that I hope raise the chances of not having to go in and do more repairs in the near future. 4) He cleaned out some drainage tubes in the fridge that had given me problems before. He had a good eye for maintenance and proactive problem prevention. 5) He was prompt in answering my follow-up questions by email. Usually he would answer within 24 hours. All in all – Tolen provided friendly, prompt service at a very reasonable price.

We called on a Tuesday morning around 10:00 am to schedule a refrigerator repair - we had to unplug ours because it was generating heat and making a very loud noise. We were told by the representative who answered the phone that there were no same day appointments available, but that there were openings for the following day. We were instructed to go online to make the appointment, then we would receive a follow up email to confirm the time; we did so immediately. The follow up email was not sent until after 5:00 that evening and offered us an appointment on Friday. We responded that we were told we could get a Wednesday appointment. The response was that there weren't any available. If we had been told by the phone representative of the actual availability of appointments, we could have made an informed decision and potentially made alternative arrangements to have our refrigerator serviced sooner. The scheduler with whom we were emailing was not at all helpful, and was curt. It was very disappointing to receive this poor level of service by a vendor so highly rated by Angie's List.

Repair person checked out refrigerator and let me know that had freon leak and that compressor would fail. Gave the option of re-charging the unit instead of replacing compressor (expensive repair), and that would last 2-3 months. Time enough to shop for and get a replacement before would fail again. Took that advice.

Found out that it would cost more to fix it than to buy a new one but Tolen was most professional in the way this was handled.

Tolen came out and was fantastic. He was very honest, explained the problem in detail and was very transparent on all costs for the repair. The heating element needed to be replaced. Ice maker is up and running without a hitch. I would recommend them!

With regards to the refrigerator Tolen fixed it rather then install a new part so as to save me money but unfortunately it still did not work and he had to replace the part. With regards to the washing machine it was a simple problem with the hose and he fixed it quickly. He came on time at each scheduled appointment. He explained the problems and what needed to be done. I was very satisfied with the work performed. The total expense to fix my problems was very reasonable

It didn't. They said they would have to order the part and would have the office call me to give me a price. My fridge was not working at all. Food going bad. You think that they would call the office right then, but no. And then, you guessed it. No one ever called me back.

I liked them a lot. They're very responsive and good prices. They could give more detailed explanations on if they come and say they can't fix it or if they say you need to replace it. They could give just a little more detailed instructions for the home owner.

Fixed! Prompt and speedy. Honest service.
