I purchased a deal of the day for 2 hours of holiday light hanging for $99. The company scheduled the appointment and on the day of the appointment they showed up to clean windows...not hang Christmas lights. As I was rescheduling to have them come back the next day they told me that it was 2 man hours of work, 2 guys for 1 hour. This detail was buried in the fine print of the deal...and when they came back the next day it was clear that they had no incentive to be quick. I paid an additional 200 for the work they did and took up my complaint with the business owner. The owner was rude, didn't care a out the misrepresentations that were made in their ads and told me that she would attach the fine print of the deal to any negative post on Angie's list. Bottom line is that these are not people you want to do business with. And FYI most of the daily deals now specifically state in the if something is "man hours" now.

Overall, my experience was positive. They were late for both the hanging and take down of the lights, but they called frequently to update me and were very quick and curteous when they did arrive.

I had purchased the housecleaning service at the beginning of December and had since then set a date so the cleaning could be done on January 10. 2013. This date was accepted in an email to me from the American Best housecleaning service. American Best called days before to change that service date and to my surprise told me they were actually not open until after January 10. I think that this is so unprofesional if at first they had no problem setting the service for that date in writing. Each other date I requested in that phone conversation with Amanda was not available for me and I would have to wait till the end of the month. I called Amanda Saturday on her private line and asked if she would return my call. I wanted to ask where the crew she would be using is stationed but got no reply. I emailed her to cancel the services and followed up with a phone call.

Took over an hour to spread out the lights to get ready to hang. All lights were new and were individually boxed. At the end of three hours the job was not finished but I was not paying anymore than $300.00 to have Christmas lights installed. I do have a two story house but lights were only installed on front of house and NOT on the roof. That evening, I turned on the lights and almost half of them did not work. I contacted installers but never heard back. With all the sections of lights that did not work, we never turned on until Christmas Eve. Did not have a good experience and this was the first time I had used someone to install Holiday lights. I think cost per man hour of $50.00 is outrageous. They were not licensed electricians and I did not think I needed a licensed electrician to install my holiday lights but I had already paid for my coupons and finding someone else to finish the installation would of taken more of my time to find someone to complete. Reluctantly, agreed to the two additional hours and it still was not long enough for my installation to be finished.

He arrived at the appointed time with everything he needed to complete the job and was done in just a couple of hours.

Fine until it came within a couple days of light removal when the company left a message that they could not keep the scheduled appointment on Saturday since their Houston-based contractor was closed. Listen, this was a guy in his truck so how hard is it to get someone out there. Or, they could have called sooner when they knew the guy couldn't make it. I would just call someone local in the futre instead of trying to deal with someone in another state to get my lights up.

My lights got put up just fine. The men were punctual and helpful and I was looking forward to their coming back to take the lights down. I got a call on January 3 that my appointment to take my lights down would need to be rescheduled as the crew was out of the country and not getting back on time. Then they said that the next appointment would not be until January 17! I do not normally leave my Christmas lights up until the middle of January so I told America's best that I would take them down myself. So I just wasted $99. Since I had made the appointment well in advance I think the company should have made more of an effort to reschedule my appointment much closer to the originally scheduled date. I am very unhappy. I cannot afford to be wasting this money

We set an appointment for January 2nd, we wanted the house cleaned at the end of December but this was the soonest they could work us in. The 2nd came and went and they never showed up and never called us. Today, January 3rd they finally called us back and they informed us that the office was closed until January 10th and they could not work us in until the 21st. This us unacceptable and we will go with someone else.

Perfectly. They were here during the window of time given and did an excellent job.

Overall, I am very pleased with the process. I was frustrated with America's Best and their scheduling office. I called as soon as I purchased the deal and they had limited appointments available. The first appointment was scheduled for about 3:00 in the afternoon, so I had to take off work to meet the crew. The company called after I was home and said that they had run longer than expected at their earlier job and would not be coming that day. They initially said that I would have to wait 10 more days for my Christmas lights to be installed. We established that timing was important with Christmas lights and that December 10 was much too late for them to be installed. Instead, the crew came early in the morning on a Saturday and installed the lights very quickly. They were in and out in about an hour and my house looked great!

It was an outstanding experience all around. Their scheduler was professional, courteous, and extremely quick to respond both by phone and email (we ran into some scheduling issues, but they were all promptly resolved). The crew they sent came out on a Saturday, realized they would need more men to safely do the job, and came back again on Sunday (a day they would usually have off). Everyone on the crew was very professional and hardworking, and they did not charge more than the agreed-upon rate even though the work was harder than it looked at the beginning. If I could give them an A+, I would. I will definitely be working with them from now on.

I took advantage of the Angie's List coupon for "2 hours of Christmas Light hanging for $99" and scheduled an appt in December. Their service rep was courteous and provided plenty of follow up via email. The only problem I had was I received a phone call the morning of the installation stating they would not be able to come out that morning. I expressed my disappointment and received another phone call from the customer service rep stating they would be out later that afternoon. They arrived at 3:30pm (originally scheduled for 10am-noon) and quickly got to work. They hung the lights on my 2nd story house in just under 1 and 1/2 hours. Then apologized for the overbooking that day. I was happy with their work and would use them again.

The only apprehension at first was they were delayed a bit however it was a very very hot summer day and that could have impacted the time on previous job.

The technicians completed the job as promised.

Overall experience was a B.

After speaking with them, I was told all of my windows are custom windows and they could not be done under the 99.00 price. The price for custom windows was way too much for me.

My only issue was they did not seem like professionals. It looked to be just a mother and a son that had been hired to come wash windows. This was why I did not have them come and clean the inside.

However, they were 3 hours late and I had to call them as oppose to them calling me adivising of schedule change. I would use them again if we they could work on their punctuality. Shelia Ryder

I bought the $99 window cleaning, and when they came, I added power washing the house for an additional $249. The guy did a good job, but this service should have been only $249 for the whole job...It took the guy 4 hours total, which ends up being $87.5/hr. I have a PhD and don't make that much. The problem is they come out and add additional cost. Same thing for everyone else that comes out for anything.

Nothing was done. My partner made arrangements to have the install on 12/3 between the hours of 12 and 3. I took the day off from work in order to make sure I was home during this time. I waited until 3:20 when I called my partner to see if they had contacted him to let them know that they were going to be late or cancel, etc. It was not until he contacted them that they began to try to contact me. I had other things to do after three. No one called to let us know they would be late. As a result, we decided not to install holiday lights this year. I'd like a refund for the $99 for the work that was not done.

I did not realize when I purchased this deal that this was not a Houston company but a company in CA. When i called to make the appt, the person I talked with outlined the fact that I would have to supply all materials including light clips. I said that the ad said light clips were included. She just responded "well they are not and you will need to supply them." No apology or concern that the ad was incorrect. My appointment was scheduled for someone to arrive between 12-3pm on Friday. I requested that I receive a call a half hour before arrival so I could be certain I was free to work with him as needed. The man did not call and arrived right at 3pm so there was only about 2 hours until dark. I had all the lights laid out and showed him that what I wanted first was to have the trunk and the bottom of branches of 2 large oak tree wrapped. That should not have taken 2 hours for someone experienced. However, he did not seem to have any experience at all in putting up lights on trees. The final result is just awful and this is not something I can do myself. The lights are unevenly spaced and strung erratically as they go into the branches. I showed him a couple times how to just wrap the bottom of the 2 branches facing the street, not all of the branches but he just couldn't seem to do it. To his credit, he did stay past the two hours, because he realized without me saying anything how bad it looked. But he finally gave up and so did I, as it was dark. I was quite frustrated. To his credit - he was nice, he was willing and he made an effort. Unfortunately, the company did not prepare him for the work for which he was hired.. The houses all around me have their trees done and mine is just an embarrassment. They were all done by the residents and yet mine for which I paid looks the worse. And I have no means of fixing it. I am just so disappointed.... I will not use this company again!

The windows look amazing, never seen them so clean. Unfortuantely they missed the tract for the sliding door and the tracts they cleaned looked like someone had just quickly ran a rag through them, it's ok, but not what I would pay for. My wife spent about 30 minutes cleaning the tracts thouroughly. It was a father and son team, the dad did the windows which again are great including some on the top of a vaulted ceiling.

The folks that showed up to do our work were awesome. They were running a little late but they called in advance to let us know. They ended up having to use some of their own supplies. They stayed a bit longer to ensure the job was done right & even took time to clean some debris off our roof while they were up there. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend them again!!!

I called to schedule the appointment about 3 weeks ahead of time. We scheduled a date and they gave me the 3 hour time window of 8-11. The workers arrived at about 9 am. They were at my house until about 11 am hanging lights. They also helped me hang ribbon which technically wasn't part of the deal. I am very pleased with their work and would not hesitate to hire them again.

It was the best experience,they evan cleaned an extra large window on the lower floor inside and out at no charge.
