Description of Work: They got our old alarm working again. The key pad was failing. They told me that it couldn't be replaced (too old), and would require a complete new system, but they could clean the contacts and it might continue to serve for quite a while. It works just like new. They also greatly improved the look of the contact wiring after we had replaced the windows. Great guys.

Description of Work: AMS arrived within minutes of their scheduled appointment time. Mike and Gaylon were punctual, knowledgeable and professional. They located and repaired a broken wire in my fixed wire alarm system caused by window replacement. They quickly located the problem. Gaylon removed the underneath part of the window sill in an effort to minimize future sheetrock repair and tediously worked for nearly an hour to fish out the broken wire. While I admired his patience I eventually told him to cut a hole in the sheetrock which he did. Even then the repair was difficult because the wire was broken far down in the wall near the floor . They were extremely neat in their clean up and even left me book on how to use the system. I had authorized repair without a quote and was pleasantly pleased when they presented the bill. Considering their time and the difficulty of the repair their charge was extremely reasonable. Many contractors would not hesitate to gouge someone who authorized repair without a prior quote. I would hearily recommend this firm to anyone seeking repairs to their alarm system and would recommend them for an Anies List award.

Description of Work: Called requesting activation and monitoring of our home alarm system (already installed by builder). They showed up for the estimate, then delayed 2 weeks in getting back to me with a final estimate and then only after several email prompts. Their estimate seemed high for video camera hookups, etc., so I decided to go with just basic door and window alarm monitoring. When they came to do the initial set up they ran into several snags that required a few hundred dollars of equipment - so I expected to pay something - but they ended up billing me for $900+. Their estimate for setting up video cameras was only $800! we are still in "discussions" with them about how they could charge so much for what most companies do for free in return for having them do the alarm monitoring.
