The technician, Jonathan, did a great job. He listened very carefully to my concerns and questions and made sure to check into my concerns durning the inspection. He also was very careful when inside my home and made sure to wear protective shoe covers. He did a very thorough job and made sure everything was good to go for summer. Their office staff is also very good about their scheduling and calling ahead before the appointment to let you know they're on the way. I would highly recommend them.

My wife and I returned home on Sunday evening to discover that our upstairs AC unit was blowing hot air. Called Aircon, who had a tech at our house in two to three hours. He quickly diagnosed that the condenser motor needed to replaced, and had us up and running in about 45 minutes. Afterwards, the AC unit was making a very loud noise. The next day a separate crew came and replaced the condenser fan in the unit, without an extra trip charge or a labor charge. This is the second time I've used Aircon, and have been very pleased with the speed and professionalism of their service crew on both occasions.

At first they came out and did the diagnostic, but I don't remember how much that was. Having said that, we had a little hitch, but they honestly went above and beyond to make us happy. I am very satisfied with the outcome and we are using them on 2 more A/C situations within the next month. They really don't stop til you are happy.

Received a call right before the end of the 4 hour window they said they would arrive, however the technician didn't arrive until about 30 minutes past the time window. Not a real big problem. They technician did an excellent job checking the system to make sure everything was working properly, did some preventive maintenance and informed me what was deficient in the system and told me the best way to handle them. I was very pleased with the work done and the professionalism and knowledge of the technician.

There were several other emergency calls in front of me, but I was kept updated on when they would arrive as the day progressed. The final time was reasonably close to the original estimate. At each step the plan and cost were discussed and approved for each item as the troubleshooting continued. All my technical questions were answered and they definitely did not try to sell a new unit, but rather explained what I needed to do to get the most life out of my existing unit. He accurately detected dirty air filters by watching the performance on the pressure gauges and asking me questions. The final charges were exactly what we discussed and he summarized the observations and results of his work and his recommendations. Very professional, thorough, and easy to work with. Costs were very competitive with the going rates for labor, call out, parts, and R22 freon.
Description of Work: AC stopped working: They came out on Sunday on call out, replaced capacitor, checked temperature performance and pressures, inspected filters, then added freon and inspected coils.

My upstairs AC unit was not blowing cold. I called AirCon and they scheduled one of their certified technicians, Walter, to come out to my home and diagnose and potentially fix the problem. The situation was not urgent, though the office staff assured me they could have someone out to the home as soon as possible. Walter checked the inside and outside units over the course of 30 mins and determined the filter on my condenser was shot resulting in a complete loss of Freon in the system. He quoted a price to fix the filter and fill the system with Freon, but stressed this would be an expensive fix that may not resolve the issue, as the evaporator coil was also failing. Walter patiently discussed over a half-dozen replacement alternatives and provided the pros and cons of each. In the end, he left me with 9 separate quotes for services, based on the extent of the repairs, units to be replaced, quality of units, and options within various product lines. Being that this was an expensive service and potentially long-term investment in my home, I took additional quotes from other companies. These quotes were taken blindly - informing the company that the AC was out and I needed a diagnosis and potential repair. Every company (all A-rated Angie's List companies) gave the same story with different levels of detail and price. AirCon's was not the cheapest, however Walter's willingness to take the time to discuss my options led me to trust my home with his crew. The installation was just completed moments ago by a courteous and professional crew. They spent most of the day in my attic on a 90+ degree day without a complaint. All the techs wore booties to protect my floors, they laid tarps on their major walkways, and cleaned up very well after themselves. It's as if they were never here - except the cold air. You can't ask for much more. Provided all goes well in the future with the units, I would easily recommend them to a friend.

I cannot express how well this work was done. We had some major issues with water leaking into the plenum box from the coils. I was quoted a price to clean the system so it could be properly assessed by the technician. After reviewing the proposal, I then decided to have it replaced so I would know we would have no more issues. Walter (my tech) was very knowledgeable, patient and went thru all the options with me. He did not push upgrades or suggest a "band aide" for the problem. He was very honest and straight forward. After he had left my husband and I decided to go ahead with the new interior unit proposal. Walter drove back to my house so I could sign papers. That was on Friday, the job was scheduled for Monday. I received a call from Matt on Monday morning telling me they were in route. The two installers, Matt and Chris, showed up on time, went over the proposal with me again to verify the job to be done. They walked me thru each step, I'm a very curious person, answered all my questions and were very patient and polite. These two were a joy to have do the install. I cannot get over how fantastic their attitude was through the entire install. A Monday morning job in a hot attic and they never stopped singing, smiling or busting their buts to get the job done! Very impressed. As of two hours after install I had to turn the AC up. I was COLD! This is not the first time I have used Air Con. They did work for me on my primary residence a few years back. They go above and beyond! I am a very satisfied customer who will never use any other hvac company! Great company with great employees!

On time, very professional. They called the day before and the morning off the appointment to confirm the appointment. All three men were polite professionals who went right to work. In a little under two hours they had cut the holes needed, changed out the return line, built a new return air plenum, and installed the new grates. The price was exactly as quoted, and they cleaned up the area after they had completed the work, and made sure everything was to my satisfaction. Professional young men, for a quality professional a/c company. They may not always be the lowest price, in fact I would be sure they are not, but their work is always of the highest quality and you do indeed get what you pay for in life.
Description of Work: Replaced the return air line to the a/c unit from the master bedroom and replaced a 12"vent with a 20 x 20" vent, and also checked drain line on a/c to sink.

On Saturday we realized that our ac was not cooling. We called Aircon and heard from the technician on Saturday night that he would come by between 10am and 12 noon to see what was going on. He called at 11:50 and said his first job was taking longer than expected and he should arrive around 1:30. At 2 we get another call, he had apparently been dispatched to an emergency job and would be here as soon as he could. I think he finally showed up around 3:30ish. He was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. He went over everything with my husband. Explained the problems and solutions. We would def. call on Aircon again.

Before we agreed to have AirCon replace our A/C system, they came out and inspected our current system, gave us a quote and answered numerous questions that we had. Once we agreed upon the work, the AirCon service team showed up when expected and did a very professional job. During the installation process, they asked me if I had any questions and walked me through the work that they were doing. When entering the house, they wore booties as to not track anything into the house. They were very polite and did a great job. I would definitely use them again, if/when needed, and would recommend them to others with A/C problems.

I am very pleased with the service. My AC was performing badly and I knew there was a high probability I needed a new AC unit. The tech who came out explained all my options and I believe I was given a good deal on the pricing. Two days later the installers came out and also did a good job including a thorough explanation of what they were doing. I would recommend them highly. They also offer a very good warranty both the manufacturer on the product and AirCon on their labor. Of course the real test of the unit itself will come during the hot summer months.

Description of Work: AirCon installed a UV light in my system. After much research and at AirCon's advice I installed just a UV light. There were some other options that were "much" more expensive ($1100) that had a lot of hype by no actual scientific data was to their effectiveness. UV is scientifically proven to kill mold spore (keeps it from being about to reproduce).

The install was excellent. The technicians that came out were very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and very friendly. They took out the old compressor unit, air handler, and old lines (which I was told were a lot smaller than they should have been), and disposed of everything for me. From start to finish they were quick, clean, and efficient. I would definitely recommend Aircon for anyone's A/C needs.

More upselling, and half-truths I got options and quotes from 4 of the top providers on Angie's list for a leaky evaporator coil on my 7-year old system. The technician arrived on time and was friendly over the phone. Upon entering my home, the technician did not make an attempt to don shoe covers so I halted further progress into the house and discussed my situation close to the entrance. The technician was courteous and friendly. As with another provider on Angie's, the options he presented me were limited. I showed him the model number and pictures of the unit. He immediately explained that the whole system should be changed out. My system uses R-22 freon, and the technician tried to tell me that R-22 would be unavailable next year because of the phase out. (A half-truth... yes there is a phase out but it will still be available till 2020, just at a higher price). He also explained that a conversion over to 410 (the new environmentally-friendlier coolant) would be impossible with my current air handler because my air handler couldn't handle the pressure. Perhaps he didn't know my air handler is rated to 450 psi which is sufficient for 410 so we won't judge too harshly. Finally I pressed him for a quote on just the evaporator coil and he estimated it would cost $2500-$2700. I had received 3 other quotes at this point and I told him that 2 of the other quotes were much cheaper ($1400-$1800). He remained professional but said that perhaps it was a smaller company or that the other company would use used parts. It's interesting to compare my experience with the reviewer from March 10, who had the same problem with his/her AC, a leaky evaporator coil. That reviewer had an older system and was still given the option to replace just the evaporator coil. He/She was very happy with the service as I would have been if I wasn't being subject to upselling. I highly recommend shopping around and getting multiple quotes. UPDATE: Air Con called me and told me they regretted that I was dissatisfied with my experience. The person who called was friendly and professional. She explained that shoe covers are usually worn and so the technician must have just forgotten. That's OK it happens. As for the high price, I did restrict him from seeing the unit and that may have played a role. The "upselling" is debatable, but that's the feeling I got especially after having such a good experience with a couple other providers. Kudos for calling and trying to make it right. And no hard feelings towards the technician. As I mentioned earlier he was quite friendly and courteous. I bumped up my professionalism score and overall score one notch each after the call. I also improved the price score one notch but as I mentioned earlier, I still feel like I was being subject to upselling and my score reflects that.

AirCon has blown us away with their honesty, attention to detail, and excellent staff. I almost look forward to the next time something breaks on my AC unit so that I can do business with them again. Here's why: 1. Honesty - We originally called late summer when our AC stopped blowing cold air. Our unit is old so the technician mentioned that it would be a good time to replace the whole unit but also explained that a leaky evaporator coil was the issue and that we could replace that at a fraction of the cost and that could last us for a few more years. I never felt like I was being pushed into anything. The facts were given and I was given a choice. 2. Attention to detail - From start to finish the process was very easy and comfortable. The dispatcher was very kind and helpful to get a crew out to diagnose our problem quickly. The technicians were always on time and were pretty accurate with their estimate of how long the job would take. While they were working, the technicians didn't make a huge mess and cleaned up after themselves, even in the attic. A couple of days after the work was done we received a phone call just to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and that everything was still working properly. 3. Excellent staff - The technicians were very kind and patient with all of our questions. My wife felt safe being there with our two young daughters when they did the work. I sense a high value on professionalism and quality throughout the organization. I would highly recommend this company for your heating or cooling needs. Thank you AirCon!

Thanks AirCon team, They sure allowed me to look good in front of my mother-in-law. We recently referred them to complete an annual check up on her heating system. We feel very comfortable with the services they provide. The team replaced one of our home systems several years ago. We had an old builders grade system installed. Following their recommendations we put in a matched system with a higher efficiency. We saw a significant decrease in our monthly electric bill! In addition they provided us with the documentation to apply for a credit on our taxes. It is said that when mom is not happy no one is happy. Well consider that when the mother-in-law is not happy it is even worse. AirCon made me look real good. I like the fact that they show up in clearly marked vehicles and the technicians are in uniform. This is important to me when referring them to friends and family. They are our go to team when we have heating and air conditioning issues.

Grade: Don't let my grade or willingness to use again fool you. Use again is a big MAYBE not a yes. Service: Famed technician Ricky Black showed up to my house. My wife let him in, I would have to only due to I don't have time to waste but... Shirt untuced pants loose and looking a little street, not in a good way. He performed the service and gave us much information to think about. Here is were things go south!!! Issues: 1) Ricky said we were using the wrong air filters and should use some cheep filter. We use 3M Filtrete 1500 (the purple filter), He claimed they were making our system work to hard and that is why the flame on the furnace kept going out. Hmmm... 1.1) This is completely false according to American Standard (Mfg of our 20+ yr old system) and 3M there is no filter that 3M makes that would not work on our system. 2) Ricky disabled the shut off switch for the access panel of our system. This is the correct procedure when servicing. However, when you are done servicing you must re-enable the switch, Ricky did NOT. I discovered this almost immediately when I was trying to figure out why my heat would not come on for more than a few minutes. 2.1) Why is this important? If the access panel were to open while in service the unit would not shut off sucking in whatever debris was near the unit. This is a FIRE HAZARD!!!! 3) Ricky never checked the flame sensor. How do I know? Because that is what is really wrong with the system, a $13 part and 10 minute install!!! Resolution: 1) AirCon while trying to justify Ricky Blak's actions did, with little effort, agree to refund our money. 1.1) In addition they are planning on sending a different tech today. (To be fair I did not call them till 30 days later as I was trying to educate myself on our unit and the possible problems. Why? Because of the 1st blantly wrong issues I discovered. I.e. Ricky Black does not know what he is talking about.) 2) I will be reporting Ricky Black to the State of Texas https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/Complaints/ 2.1) Better question is why haven't you? Concerns: 1) AirCon was aware of Ricky Black's dressing habbit and apparently had previous talks with him about this. Why is Ricky Black a Lead Technician? 1.1) AirCon owner Derek Stewart asked me to let him deal with Ricky Black and not report to the state. BIG NO NO. 2) Nobody has ever caught the blant misinformation of air filters? (I can't believe I am the first person that this was told too.) 3) Safety issues! Does AirCon really checkout thier technicians prior to sending them to your house? They claimed to me they do and that they will use my information to educate the rest of their techs. 3.1) While I appriciate the fact they can't know everything about everyones systems AirCon claims to be a dealer of Lenox and American Standard. We have an American Standard Freedom 80, the simplest and cheapest of American Standard.

It was great and they were awesome. They went above and beyond. The service man Michael was fantastic. He was very informative and spoke on my level. He really cared about what he was doing. They called me to follow up and let me know that I haven’t used the deal yet. He got the job done in about 30 minutes. He was very quick and efficient.
Description of Work: It was a Big Deal for $48 for a Furnace Tune-Up. He also added an overflow switch for me in the attic.

They are very professional, knowledgeable, communicate well. This call was checking the thermostat. We were only charged for the service call. Highly recommend Aircon for Heating/Air Conditioning Service. We will use them in the future.
