My one major complaint is that they don't communicate directly. I get messages about an appointment, inferring that they had already told me about it - and never had. Maybe I'm supposed to go to a website to find out, but passively putting something on a website is not communication, in my mind. All that being said, I've never had an issue with them coming back for additional treatment if some critter starts to bother me. And they treat from the outside, unless there is a reason I want them to treat inside (rarely needed.)

I am updating a previous review. I just found out (via the charge to my credit card, even though I'm told a letter was sent which I never received to notify me of the change that ABC is raising their prices 4%. I was on the fence about the value of their service at the old price, but this unexpected price increase definitely lowers my opinion. In fact, I'm now scouring Angie's List for a reliable, quality service to replace them.
Description of Work: ABC provides ongoing monthly services at my home for lawn, bed and shrub maintenance and treatment for pests and weeds as well as irrigation inspection quarterly.

We paid in full price for our services but kept receiving bills, calls and collections notices for months. This happened numerous years. No longer use them.

I always had animals in the attic until I had them removed by ABC, and I continue the contract with them to keep them out. The original treatment is quite expensive, but the annual contract is reasonable.

I spotted a tarantula going into the bricks on the side of the garage while I was doing the lawn, and I was panicking. I had barely been in the brand new house for about 2 months, and had totally left aside the fact I needed to take care of pest control. I was only one week away from getting my House Blessing done, and one of my relatives coming into town has a phobia to all kinds of spiders. The agents came to see my house, and indeed, I had a whole family of spiders also living with me in that area of the house. They schedule my appointment for the house to be treated as soon as they could, taking into consideration my aunt's phobia, and all the children coming to the Blessing. I also understand that attics aren't normally treated, but this time due to the issue, it was done. I finally had peace when they left, because I saw quite a few spiders dead, and I'm getting ready to call them again.

ABC was professionalism from the beginning to the end! Courteous administrative staff put me in touch with Bob Keenan, who was my landscaper and point-of-contact for the job. Bob was very professional and responsive to my questions and needs. He gave me three quotes so that I could make the best decision regarding the resources I wanted to spend on the yard. He was also very open with me about what would be a viable solution. I appreciate the honesty and not trying to upsell me on things and services I really did not need. Emmanuel was the team leader for the job. He and his crew did an outstanding job: they worked diligently, cleaned up after themselves very well, and were very polite and knowledgeable of landscaping. After the job was completed, Emmanuel and Bob gave me tips on how to maintain and care for the new sod. I have had other landscaping companies work on this property before, and by far, ABC did the best job. I also like that they are so reasonably priced in comparison to other bonded, licensed, and insured landscaping companies. They were also less expensive than independent lawn persons I interviewed for the same job.

We used ABC Home and Commercial Services for two years for lawn services. We got extremely frustrated with them for several reasons. Their system for accounting is lousy. We were charged for all planned services and were responsible for notifying them when their people didn't show up; but we were never told this was so. Even when we talked to our service coordinator and they agreed to credit that service it didn't mean that it would actually be credited to us. One time we received an exorbitant bill saying we hadn't paid them for months. We had to actually visit their office, and it took hours to figure out that we hadn't paid for one service several months back because they hadn't done the work. Their late payment notice was based upon the assumption that we had made no payments after that date (which we had). We finally got it straightened out to their satisfaction but not to ours. And we went back to billing per service which made it easier to keep track of. That is just one frustrating example. Also their website is unreliable. It would show upcoming services that we were not due for on odd days. We had service people show up when they were not scheduled and with a dog in the backyard that was a problem. We could never figure out their online invoice system or get invoices to download. The most irritating thing was getting charged for lawn services even when they didn't show up. And we know that for a fact because we were home all day one time they said they came and charged us for it. Normally they would leave a receipt/bill on the door but we noticed that when they didn't come there would be an email receipt/bill several days later. The actual work they did improved once we got their supervisor to check our lawn; I think he replaced the team because instead of just using a Weed eater in the back yard they started using a lawn mower! After that point their work was usually excellent. The customer service people were professional but it didn't seem to help. The fact that we even had to call them several times a month to sort things out was frustrating to say the least. We have cancelled our services with them and will never use them again. But we still keep getting invoices for services we have already paid for. If you use this company, from the very beginning keep track of every service they provide and when and how you paid, and keep a copy of all communication with them. Be very wary in the beginning and end of the season as that is when the workers decide your grass doesn't need to be cut (we have Bermuda grass) but you will still be billed for it! And immediately contact them when there is a problem; otherwise plan to have major headaches with them or get ripped off.

The sales guy showed up, everything went fine with that. The actual representative to actually do the work was schedule for 12-31-13. The guy ended up showing up an hour and half late. He started work on the outside of the house but barely even started before he said he had to stop because he ran out of silicone. He setup to come back the next day at 10 am (New years Day). My husband asked the guy to at least setup the traps in the attack before he left due to the fact that we know something big is getting into the attack. The guy does so and leaves. Later that night something got caught into the trap and was making a holy terror in the attic! The next day 10 am rolls around and again, no show, no call. We waited almost 2 hours and then called the office and come to find out the office is closed for New Years. I ended up getting a hold of the after hours person. The lady advised me that she would have to call me back and the rep for them shouldn't have told us he would come back New Years day (the next day). She called me back a few hours later. At this point my husband and I had already gone into the attic and come to find out it was a young cat trapped we ended up letting it go outside. After speaking with the after hours rep we advised them we no longer wanted to do business with them and to come get their stuff. Later on that afternoon a different rep ended up showing up and picked up their property. He apologized on behalf of ABC and took pictures of everything because apparently the first rep had made a complete mess of it outside, with throwing away the empty silicone containers in our yard and advised us that management would hear of this and would be in touch. Of course we haven't heard from anyone. Then today 1-7-14 someone from ABC shows up to "check the traps"??!! Obviously ABC does NOT care about customer service nor do they even follow up. I will not and would not recommend this service to anyone!
Description of Work: We had scheduled them to setup traps for both rats and/or a critter that was getting into our attack and to seal all the weap hole and to close up any places that a critter could get into.

We noticed a very strong smell in our house in the late evening a few days ago. In the morning, we heard an animal moving uncer our concrete patio, and we determined in all likelihood one or more skunks had taken up residence. We are ABC customers, so we called ABC to come out and trap/remove the animal(s). It took a couple of calls (the emergency number for live animals went to voicemail and my message was never returned). ABC did come out within an hour or so, and the tech said he could smell that the skunks had sprayed our house all the way from the front of the house. The smell was pretty bad. He confirmed we had one or more skunks living under our concrete patio. We paid $351 for the tech to set traps. After we paid the fee, he advised that he didn't have any traps with him. He said that ABC had closed its Spring office and so he wasn't sure he could get traps out until the next day. We were stunned we had one or more live animals under our porch, known to carry rabies and that had sprayed and stunk up our home, yet ABC wasn't able to set traps for at least another 24 hours and didn't tell us that until we had already paid the fee. Yesterday ABC came out and set two traps - both right up next to the house. This morning we heard an animal in one of the traps. We called ABC to come and check the trap and remove it. The traps are right up next to the house, so we're worried that if there is a trapped skunk the house will get sprayed again. ABC advised it may not be able to come out today, they'd have to call the tech and see and would call us back, but it might be tomorrow before they can come out. We called a couple of hours later (since we never heard back), and ABC advised they could get someone out today and thought we had been called, but there would be another $125 charge to set another trap. We were aware of that fee so that wasn't a surprise, but with the fees we're paying, we can't believe how hard we're having to work to get ABC to help us with this situation. ABC was initially responsive, but now they're acting like we're putting them out. We're paying some pretty high fees, and ABC says this is what they do and are happy to provide services on their commercials, but we feel like we've been fighting with ABC to get them to come out. We have a pest control contract with ABC, and we were considering using them to put in a sprinkler system, to seal and insulate our home from pests and animals after we put a new roof on, and some other work and services we need. However, this experience with simple trapping of a confirmed live animal and the efforts we have had to go through have us strongly reconsidering whether we will use them for anything else.

I received a flyer "We'll take care of all your outdoor Christmas lighting need"! I made an appointment which was time consuming. Scheduler wasn't sure where Cypress was. Could not find our zip code in their system. Kept putting me on hold. Finally made an appointment. The salesman was on time and very professional. When I mentioned where I would like color lights, he grimaced and said, "We only install white lights." That was news to me. Not in their flyer or when I made the appointment was that "minor" detail mentioned. The salesman was extremely gracious and went ahead with a quote which was completive with other quotes I have gotten, without colored lights of course.

Not well...after removing bats (at an exorbitant price) they never properly caulked the spot where the bats had gained entry and in no time the bats were back. Still waiting for ABC to come back out again.

All work performed as noted, schedules were maintained. Some of the work noted was follow-up warranty for work performed one year earlier, and so the price may seem low. I recommend this contractor for AC service and repair. The problems noted were due to faulty installation by Lennar home builders.

I had been putting off writing this review because I was astonished that any service provider could be so incompetent on so many levels and then continue to bill for services they never performed or for services that cause damage or were not done at a level that would remotely deserve payment. It has been horrible and this has been going on for I would estimate over a year. Let's start with pool...I just can not believe it. They sent a tech out here a year ago...time and again he would show up and then tell me everything was fixed. I would come home...it was worse than when he showed up. I told the office to have him check his work. I met with the guy. It continued and I told them to never send this guy out there again. After that, I met with the pool manager. Let's just say he is the son of one of the original owners of this company. He did the same thing. They charged me ridiculous money to replace just about everything because they didnt know what they were doing. My pool is still not the same as it was before they showed up. To make matters worse, I just discovered that the geniuses had disconnected my chorinator months ago...I had called several times because the pool water would get cloudy within two days of the weekly service. I found out what happened recently when I happened to be home and the young man came over while I was there. The pool had zero cholorine. He told me that he had told the office that something was wrong because the pool was not holding chlorine. He indicated that he had to shock it every week...it is a salt pool! I am so disgusted. Lawn...they showed up for the first mowing. They did a horrible job and did not come prepared to do all of the work I had asked them to do. They wanted to charge me a weekly fee for weeding and hedge trimming. Their idea of weeding was to spray Roundup all around my shrubs and roses vs. really weeding...FOR REAL????? They only trimmed hedges as needed but wanted to charge - I believe $10+ per week for that service. Again disgusted. AC - they put in two ac units for me. It took weeks to get them out here to do their post installation check. Which included filling up a hole they forgot to fill when they left after installing the acs. Pest - Only service they performed that did not give me a nervous breakdown. BILLINGS - This one is astonishing. They mowed my grass about twice / maybe three times...3-4 months later they are still trying to bill me for services they did not perform. In other words....they just kept on billing the monthly services after they were fired. I still get hate mail...This is the same for the pool as well. It is to the point of harrassment. Honestly, I dont have time for this. This has absolutely been the worst nightmare. They are like a bad cold...they wont go away even after you get rid of them. They continue to charge you for services not done and or services that screwed up everything. I have spoken to/emailed the owner Raleigh Jenkins and the general manager Brian Jackson. They both say things are taken care of...then wham...we are back where we started.

They come when they are supposed to and clean my home. They are nice. The owner is nice and professional. They are always on time and do a good job.

They do what they are qualified to do. They do a good job. They do what they say they will do. They have a dispatcher at the home office. She does a good job. She makes sure everything happens and they come on time. If there is a problem they come out quickly.They always come out professionally dressed.

I have used them for over nine years. I have no complaints. The man that comes out each time is superior. When we are home during the time of the work, he will knock on the door to ask if we would like him to spray the inside of the home. When I call, they have a pretty fast response. They are better than another company I was using prior.

They show up when they say they will. They come on a monthly basis and twice a month at most. They have done a fantastic job. We are termite free and we love it. They will call before they come. When they get here, they make sure to tell us and they also tell us before they leave. They will ask if there is anything else that needs to be done.
