I pay $300 per year and their price is fair. My experience with them so far has been good. Their effectiveness and punctuality is good. They do their job. They come out when I am at work.

The services provided are done well. However, we have had a lot of problems with the billing department. They lost our credit card info several times, so then we had to pay for 2 months during the next billing cycle. Also, they do not always perform services on the scheduled day.
Description of Work: We receive regular lawn mowing, lawn fertilization, weed prevention, lawn aeration, and pool maintenance.

I pay them periodically. I pay them separately for rodent inspection and separately for termite inspection. Each service I pay for separately. I pay $160 for rodent inspection and $140 for termite inspection. This is the annual amount that I pay them for coming out on a periodical basis to do all the checks. They are a trustful company. They explain the procedures to me. I use them because they use environmental friendly products which are good for the animals in the house. I would use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used ABC Pest Services. They came out in October 2010 for their annual spraying. They are due for their yearly termite inspection which is coming up next month. They do rodent inspection for me so that rodents don’t get into my attic. This was in September 2010. They do the inside and the outside.

The people who come out from ABC Pest Services Company are very friendly. They are very good people. They do good work. I also had them do some rodent control and they sealed off everything. It has never been a problem since then. I would continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: I use ABC Pest Services Company for pest control. They were last here in February. I spend about a $100 a quarter with them.

ABC Pest Control doesn't know how to make their customers happy. They say they guarantee their service but that is not true. Problems: 1) Scheduling your appointment is a nightmare. They automatically schedule your appointment on days/times you don't want them to come. For example: You tell them you want services M-Th after 4, anytime on Friday, or Saturday. And what do they do, they schedule for Monday at 9 am. Then you have to call and re-schedule and it takes 2-3 weeks for them to get someone out to your house. 2) Don't bother telling your scheduling & pest problems to the office staff. They don't help you at all. In fact, they do the opposite of what they tell you. 3) Talking to a Supervisor/Manager will still not solve your problems. 4) The product only works for about 2 weeks. If you call them about pest problems they won't send anyone out to re-spray right away. It takes 2-3 weeks for them to come back out. 5) The last 6 months of service was really bad because they wouldn't show up at all for scheduled appointments. AND this is why we cancelled the service. (They missed 3 appointments times.) Pros: 1) Our regular tech was very professional & friendly. He would give us tips on our yard and how to keep pests away. He would even call us when he was on his way to our house. 2) Sales person was really nice and friendly and answered all our questions. Too bad the company can't follow through with what the sales person told us.

Short story - technicians were great when they showed up and customer service reps were courteous but not always knowledgeable or helpful. The biggest issue was scheduling. Long story - I was a customer from May 2009 until October 2010. Initial consultatant was very courteous and seemed knowledgeable but reeked of cigarette smoke. I could not wait to get him out of my house. I was told technicians would need access inside my gate each time they came to do service and I let them know that I would have to be home each time because I could not unlock the gate and leave it open the entire time I'm at work. I was told it would be no problem and they would call each time before they came out to schedule it with me. After the first couple of times, I noticed that the method seemed to be to schedule me and then call to confirm and have me call to reschedule if the time/date was not ok with me. I called to reschedule the first time and let them know that they would have to check with me each time because I would have to be there. Once, I scheduled an inside service on a Friday afternoon and took the day off work to make sure I would be there, only to a get a call telling me that my technician had a family emergency and would not be able to come and could they please reschedule me for a different week day. I understand that things come up, however, I felt as if the representative I talked to seem to think my schedule was super flexible and did not really understand that this was a huge inconvenience for me. After the 2nd or 3rd time I admit I got a little frustrated with them scheduling me on week days mid-morning or mid-afternoon. I repeatedly told them that if they scheduled me on a Saturday or during the week first thing in the morning, at lunch time, or last thing in the afternoon, we would have a better success rate, but that did not seem to get through. Finally, one customer service representative finally seemed to get it. She told me that she would note on my account that I was to have service on Saturdays only, which would hopefully solve the problem. The next time I got the regular phone call that informed me my service had been scheduled for Thursday at 3:00 pm and that I should call if this was not a good time. I called and left a message that I was surprised my service had been scheduled on a Thursday when I had been told my account would be updated to note that I was only to be scheduled on a Saturday and for them to please reschedule me for a Saturday and call me back. I got a message the next day from an apologetic representative who told me I was now scheduled for Saturday at 1:15 pm. I scheduled my day on Saturday to make sure I would be home at the appropriate time - from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm. The technician showed up at 8:30 am. I told him I had been told I was scheduled for afternoon and he informed me that I was first on his list for the day. I called customer service on Monday to let them know I was unhappy that the technician showed up at a VERY different time than what I was told and the representative that I talked to didn't seem to know what to tell me. I asked him to please check as to when my contract expired and he looked it up for me. I told him that I have been very unhappy with my service and would be cancelling as soon as my contract is up. His response was "ok". There may have even been a "thanks for calling" & "have a nice day" in there, but no attempt at all to find out what else had made me unhappy or to make me feel like a valued customer. Overall, customer service representatives were very courteous, but not many of them seemed all that knowledgeable or helpful. For what I paid per month, I expected to get better service. I can get the same amount of hassle someplace else for less money. I told them all this in March and was contacted by a representative who DID make me feel like a valued customer and did everything she could to help me, including a free month of service, however, she could not solve the scheduling problem. I continued to have scheduling problems for the next few months, usually dreading the monthly calls from them - oh yes, *calls*. I would get an automated phone call with my appt time and date, then a real person would call me with my appt time and date and then I would have to call and confirm or reschedule; and the automated system did not always give me the same date and time as the real person! The final straw was in October when I was scheduled for service at 11:30 am on a Saturday. I turned down plans for lunch because I had to be home from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm for the visit. At 12:20 pm I finally called the company and they informed me that they had just received notice that the technician would not be able to make it to my house. Bottom line - if you can leave your gate open (or don't have one) and need only outside service this company will probably work out great for you. However, if you are like me and have to deal with their scheduling, it's just not worth the hassle.
Description of Work: Pest control (inside & outside) with monthly outside maintenance visits. Inside visits as needed.

The lawn service was of poor quality, even compared to other low-cost lawn service companies (~$40). When we asked ABC to cut the grass shorter (grass was always left too long) and too be more careful trimming the edges, etc., the quality never improved. We also asked for a pool consultation, as our pump was broken, with the intention of starting up a weekly service once it was repaired. The company sent someone out for a consultation three times but never called us back with the results - communication was very poor. After getting in touch with them on our own initiative, they recommended a new part, which was rather pricey, and we decided to wait till the end of the winter season to address the problem (and get a second consultation). ABC then proceeded to start up service without asking us! They set their own date and time and started coming out every Monday. After no less than five phone calls I finally got them to stop coming (explaining the situation to a different person each time). It took another couple phone calls to get them to stop coming to service the lawn.Their lock box is still on my gate and my only hope of ever getting it off is to withhold payment for the remaining lawn services until they come and remove it and give our keys back. An absolute nightmare of a service company to deal with, which you would never know from looking at Google reviews.
Description of Work: We tried ABC out for both a bi-weekly lawn care service and a weekly pool service.

The pool service, I would definitely recommend them for. It is a little expensive. The pool looks absolutely marvelous after he leaves. He is here every Friday morning and by 12 it is sparkling clean. He test the water, leaves result and gives recommendations.

On the lawn service, they didn?t clean up. They would blow leave back into grass and into beds. It was an awful job. There was 5 or 6 guys that would come and spend little time. It wasn?t acceptable. The terminating portion was OK. He wasn?t really into his job. He would shuffle through a little here and a little there. I still ended up with roaches. The rat proofing was a one time deal and they screened in some holes and missed maybe three out of fifteen. I continue to use them for pool service and have submitted a separate report.
Description of Work: We started out with the pest control and rat proofing. We also had the monthly extermination. I had their lawn service weekly. They would come out and do both my front and back yard and keep things trimmed. The price was for monthly service.

It is good. They have a good job done. They do what they are supposed to. We don't have any pest. The gentlemen they send every month to check the traps is very good, responsive and personable. Sometimes they will call and say he is coming and he doesn't come until the next week.

They don?t use harsh chemical and don?t spray inside the house unless you ask. They have good service. I don?t have any trouble with insects.

They were making interim inspections about every 3 months and serviced if needed. They told me they were not going to do the inspections since there was not a problem. Then they told us that they are just going to bill us and we can call them if there are any problems. We said we do not like this situation and they said well, we will still bill you. I have not had a happy experience with this company.

This service was sold in March of 2004 as an inspection quarterly and treatment done when termites were found. There must have been a communication error when we were trying to schedule our inspection. I hate those people because they were awful. They were supposed to set traps up and then close up any place a rat could get into my house. Some fool took that foam that expands and shot it all over my house; it took weeks for me to get that stuff off. I had to call someone else to come out and clean up the mess. It was just a nightmare because it looked like there was stuff coming out of my house. If they spent as much money on services as they do on advertising, they’d be okay. I won't let them anywhere near my house because they don't train their employees.
Description of Work: I paid ABC to get rats out of my attic after a big storm.

The 3 gentlemen who have come to our home to put in and check traps have been polite and spent time trying to move traps to resolve the issue. They obviously don't have the knowledge to handle this specific problem. I have e-mailed the owner and called an executive that lives in our neighborhood. Neither one has called me. Meanwhile, animals run between the floors of my house various times during the day and night. Something has chewed another hole in a different part of my home and the original hole the animals made is about 3 times the size. The only thing they have caught is 2 cats and a dog out of a trap in the flower bed.
Description of Work: ABC was hired to remove/capture small mammals from our home. They made their first visit on 2/2/10. At 10:30 this morning, March 14th, we heard something run across the ceiling in our bedroom (between floors).

I recently fired them, as I was not pleased with their services. They changed their business model and they do not send reminders any more. They were expensive. I told them many times to improve their service that they used to do for one time but then they would go back to the same service. I was very unhappy with them.

We did not use this company for the work due to the lack of professionalism and the estimated costs.
Description of Work: Call ABC for a quote. Although they were very quick to responded the sales rep that came out was not very professional. We wanted an estimate on an irrigation system. The sales rep did not do any measuring and just gave us a ballpark figure. I had to push to get a firm price but even when he did provide this he still had not done any measuring and was very pushy about a decision. I would not recommend this company at all.

The technician did a complete analysis of potential entry points where bats could enter our home. After signing up with ABC, another technician came the following day to seal off the potential entry points with the exception of one. This entry point was in the area where bats had been seen most frequently. A net was tacked up which would allow bats to leave, however, they could not re-enter. Another technician came several days later and checked all the designated areas for signs of bats. A final follow-up visit was performed a few days later and the final potential entry point was sealed.
Description of Work: We called ABC Pest Control because bats were dive bombing us at night on our back porch and were becoming quite a nuisance.

Booked appointment 3 days ahead. Day before, ABC left automated message, confirming appointment. Day of work to be performed, they were to arrive between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm. At 6:00 pm they still had not arrived and received no call from ABC. I called to see if they were coming. The customer service rep said they were scheduled to come, but after attempting to call the technician, said he was not able to get through to him. Next day --- never received a follow up call or response as to why they did not show up. Had a similar problem the year before, but thought that it may have been a unique experience so never reported. Unfortunately, this assumption wasn't correct as the problem still exists. If you are looking for a service company to arrive for a scheduled appointment, ABC is not the company to work with.
