Mr McBride repaired the broken leg and replaced all the too short screws in the table. He did it all in 2 days!

I tool the furniture to Mr. Ms brides house. He was easy to speak on the phone. He gave an estimate and delivery date. All went as expected and i couldn't be happier. My 1960's vintage maple chairs look brand new.

This furniture restorer is just excellent. (I have previously used him to repair antique dining room chairs.) He explained why the drawer had broken, fixed it in 24 hours, and also reinforced the chest for me. He also gave me advice about the finish and how to best maintain it. His prices are very reasonable, and a bargain when you factor in the very high quality of his services.

Mr. McBride fixed the chewed up wooden arm on the chair and stained it to match the rest of the wood on the chair.

What a nice and knowledgeable person! He scraped off the old glue and reattached the frieze, and within a few minutes we were on our way home with this little old table as "good as new". He knows and appreciates wood. My table is not of great value monetarily, but it does have a wealth of family history, so I was most pleased with his professionalism.

Mr. McBride did an excellent job repairing a badly damaged wooden dining chair. This chair is 85 years old and is a cherished piece of my family's history. Not only did Mr. McBride repair the chair, he also filled small nicks and crafted piece of intricate scroll work where it had gone missing. Artistry and exceptional craftsmanship is how his work is best described. I have already taken him the other chairs in the set for touch up and repair.

It was great. You can't even tell where the dog chewed the leg of the chair. I recommend him.

Me. McBride is very busy so if you are looking for a rush job he is not the person. But if you have time and want quality work, he is your man.

I could not have expected a better job. The owner is a true craftsman and very fair. It is a bit expensive but I do believe the price was very fair for the quality of the work. He even reduced the price on some of the chairs since they were a little less work than expected. It takes a while because he is busy but they were complete about when I expected them to be. I would definitely use again. The completed wood finish is smooth as satin!

Excellent service all the way around. ken is very professional...friendly, fair, courteous and a good communicator. The chair is perfect now and he even showed me how to adjust the height and back lean of the chair. It's a pottery barn office chair that I had bought second hand thinking the only thing wrong with it was a wobbly arm that just needed the screws tightened. Obviously I was wrong, as it turned out most of the joints of the frame were involved. I'm totally satisfied with the work and look forward to working on several more projects with Ken in the near future.

We contacted Mr. McBride by phone on a Tuesday and he told us we could bring in our chair that same day. Mr. McBride is located quite a distance from us and we were prepared to deliver the chair to him with the expectation of having to return to his place of business at a later date to pick it up. What a wonderful surprise it was when he was able to do the repairs on the spot. We didn't even have to remove the chair from our vehicle; he simply brought his tools outside and did the repairs on the chair while it was still in our car. We could tell that he is a real craftsman and that he cares about his work. Moreover, the price that he asked for doing the repairs was so small that we insisted on paying him more. If we need any furniture repair or restoration work done in the future he is definitely the first person we will call.

Mr McBride restored two beautiful solid wood antique chairs that used to be two of my grandparents dining room chairs. They were in terrible condition with original pieces missing that were sculpted and detailed wood. He recreated the missing pieces in his shop and I am unable to tell which pieces are original and which are new. I am so grateful to Mr McBride for restoring these family heirlooms so beautifully. I will treasure them always.

During moving, our dining room wood chair arm rests were broken. We searched for a furniture repair company to fix it and came across Abacus. I called and spoke with Ken and we agreed upon me bringing the chair to him for an assessment. When the chair was brought over, he told me he could do it and that it would take a few days. The charge for the repair was $45, and true to his word a few days later we got a call that the chair was ready. Ken had fixed both arms and did an excellent job. He is professional, prompt and I would definitely recommend him and use him in the future for any repairs that I have.

Mr. McBride repaired the bedside table PERFECTLY! The job was reasonable, finished sooner than expected, and worth the hour long drive it took to get to his place of business. His quality and workmanship exceeded our expectations.

I have one of the modern triangular-shaped coffee tables. The table collapsed when I was moving it to vacuum beneath it. I realized that my skills with a screwdriver would not be sufficient to put the table back together. I called on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. I was told that I could bring the table that evening. When I arrived, I was expecting to leave it and return on a subsequent day to pick it up. However, when he discovered that I lived quite a distance away, he completed the repair while I waited. I learned that my table was pretty with insufficient screws to "maintain the integrity of the table". He explained the type of product the table was made of, the amount of tension that the screws had to endure, and why the screws failed to hold the table together. While conversing with him, he repaired the holes, readjusted the tension points that caused the problem, and put the table back together. He is a kind man that could have told me to come back, but he didn't. He went out of his way to repair the table while I waited so that I didn't have to drive back to his side of town. He charged me one price, but I paid him double. A man of his caliber and talent is worth every penny.

I could not tell where the old damage was! I could have sworn he replaced the legs and restained them, but he filled the damaged areas and restained. They look brand new. I'll definitely be using him again when the need arises. Thanks, Angie's List!

They referred me to Garmar Furniture pros, who came to my house to fix an antique piece. Garmar was beyond terrific, did a beautiful job and were very careful and very professional.

Mr McBride does excellent work. We read his reviews before we called him. When we took bench over, he said he could repair in one day and he did.

I had built a grandfather clock to honor my father who was terminally ill. My skill in finishing was not good, but Ken's reputation in Angie's list was very high so I chose him to do the work. The commute across town was a very small price to pay for the resulting work. He is a patient, methodical worker who consistently does excellent work, and it was reflected in the job he did for me. His work far exceeded what I had hoped for, and he was very fair in his pricing. I am thankful that I found Ken McBride to complete the finishing work and to allow me to complete the clock. I would recommend Ken to anyone who has need of top quality repair and refinishing on furniture they value.

The only family heirlooms I have are these two old maple chairs from my great-grandmother. They had been stained, painted, decaled, repainted (and generally abused) over the decades. One of the arms needed to be glued back together and both chairs were wobbly. Mr McBride took a look at them and said they'd had so much paint, likely some of it was too deep in the grain to remove. I told him I understood and would be happy if he just them stripped back to the original wood as best he could. He told me the cost and that it would take a coupled of months to strip down the many grooved and turned parts. He called once to verify my stain choice. Not only was the work done beautifully and punctually, he tightened up the joints on both chairs (not part of my original request) and charged exactly what he said he would charge. He is a true craftsman and a pleasure to deal with. I would trust him with any fine furniture repairs.
