Description of Work: Mr. McBride is a master craftsman! I had three antique Cushman colonial maple chairs that had been destroyed by my dog who had chewed several leg supports and almost completely chewed up the back of one. When I took them to Abacus Furniture Restoration. I truly expected that maybe one or two of the chairs might be restored by taking parts from one to use on another. Much to my surprise, all three are so beautifully restored that it is impossible to even tell which one required a new back! The cost was very low, considering the amount of time required and the entire job was completed well within my time frame. I have since then, taken two more pieces of furniture to him for repair and experienced the same complete satisfaction. It is seldom that I can make a glowing recommendation like this. I give Mr. McBride my very highest level of satisfaction!

After meeting Mr McBride and showing him the cedar chest, we agreed on a course of action given the age and structural limitations. But he came up with a solution better than we had discussed. He even gave us DIY tips on touch up of the finish. Clearly experienced. Did I mention he is very good?

Description of Work: I have been using Mr. McBride's furniture services for years. He is amazing. He refinished a set of five antique dining chairs (paint had splattered on them) and he recaned the seats. He is a miracle worker. I wish I had his knowledge of furniture refinishing!

Description of Work: I did not actually use this provider but they did come out and give me estimates on damaged furniture caused by my house flooding. They were very credible, punctual, and professional. I chose to replace the furniture.

Description of Work: I had a 1940 rocking chair, unusual rocker system. Cross braces totally not working, my father repaired once. These braces were made new, glued and stained. The rocker system works great.
