A Better Tripp Moving & Storage

I couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received. From the initial meeting to the pack and move it was a great experience. Jose and his crew did an excellent job packing and loading our house. Jose made it to Richmond in 3 days and unloaded in the same professional manner our stuff was loaded. I highly recommend A Better Trip Moving & Storage.

About three weeks before move day, they came out to my house to provide an estimate. We went through the entire house and determined what was moving and what was not. The estimate was two trucks, five movers, & 10 hours. On moving day, they called prior to arrival to say they were on the way. They showed up on time. I signed the papers, and they got straight to work. They moved quickly and efficiently wrapping and taping furniture in blankets and moving it all out to the truck. It took them four hours to load one truck full and half of the second truck. It was a 15 minute drive to the new home. They unloaded into the one story home in just over two hours. I was glad that the actual move time was less than the estimate. I was extremely satisfied with the entire process with A Better Tripp. Two thumbs up.

The crew arrived on time and loaded the truck in a fairly timely manner (about 2.5 hrs for the equivalent of a 3 bedroom house). After that things went down hill. It took them 5 hours to unload the truck. The crew spent a good portion of that time playing with their phones. I'm not sure if it happened loading or unloading, but the glass on both my washer and dryer were broken. I have called and emailed several times to get this matter resolved with no response.

Despite marketing from A Better Tripp that "no move is too small", apparently mine was. I was told via phone that their minimum charge for this sort of thing is $285. That's more than a third of what the headboard cost and certainly high for what would be for roughly one hour of work for two people plus a trip charge. It's really too bad because I'm sure other people have this same sort of need (in home moves) and this company seems to have a generally good reputation.

The movers were totally professional from the start. The operations manager even called me the day before to reconfirm everything. Moving is very stressful; however, this team of professionals did their part to ease the stress! They wrapped all of our furniture and were very careful with moving things out of the house to protect the walls/wood trim. The unload went just as smoothly as the upload :) We are so pleased and would highly recommend this team to anyone. Thanks so much for a great job!

They showed up on time and worked hard. They did a good job but they weren't perfect. There was some breakage but it wasn't a lot. My interaction with them was good. They could be more care during package to avoid damage.

I was apprehensive trying to find a reliable moving company. Angie's List is amazing, I found this company. The reviews were great so I reserved them for the move. I was absolutely AMAZED with everything about the move. The men were so quick my daughter thought there were 4 movers when there were 3. They were professional and careful, I could go on and on. I will always use them for any future help! A++++++

Excellent service - Both drivers arrived on time. They were very careful with all the boxes and were also quick with moving and packing, loading and off loading.

The truck showed up exactly on time, the driver calling before they arrived. They went to work immediately wrapping up the furniture and moving the packed boxes. All items were well wrapped and protected. Once they delivered the items they assisted in removing a damaged caster (they did not damage it, it was damaged prior to moving) and unwrapped everything, placing as my mom specified. It could not have been a better move.

All went very well. Received a photo from my daughter after the items were delivered to her, unpacked and set up. Everything in perfect condition.

Estimate was accurate. My experience with management and estimator was very good. Everyone showed up when promised. Packers and movers acted in a very professional manner. My only problem with the packers was that they packed some cast iron skillets and other cast iron antiques in a box marked fragile with some glassware and porcelain which was broken. The value of the broken pieces was minor and I sent pictures but did not make a claim. The movers kept me informed of progress and made sure they were meeting my expectations. This was the same story on both ends of the move. Somewhere in the move or storage one of my boxes was lost. I only was able to recall some of the items and I completed a claim form and was reimbursed for the value requested. I will probably never remember what else was in the box. In place of my box, I received someone else's box with some decorative train cars and other items. I still have the items and don't know what to do as I have reported this several times. During storage, I assume, several pieces of furniture were slightly damaged. They had an excellent furniture restoration firm make the repairs. Overall I am pleased with this company as I know what a bad move looks like.

Mixed review on A Better Tripp. Communication was somewhat challenging. Did not come to the house to assess inventory and give me a firm quote, but they were less expensive than a competitor. Company did not tailor the movers arrival time to my needs which cost me more due to the hourly rate. I had to deal with the closing of the new house and found the movers resting when I returned. Then they left quickly to the new house before I had a chance to walk through the old place with them. After they left I discovered a very large painting left on the mantle along with a broom, large lamp and some misc items. None of these would fit in my vehicle with the baby's car seat, so I called the moving company on the way to the new house. They heard my complaint, but to date have never followed up on the issue. The head mover later told me that I could recline my back seats and fit in the huge painting myself! Single mom with 2 dogs and full time job, ok. All in all they got most of my stuff from point A to point B and listened to my placement directions. They were polite but the guys were cussing in Spanish, a lamp got broken and it took longer than expected. This company does not take AMEX either. B- to C rating? Not sure if I would actually use them again. Hopefully I will stay in my new place forever so I don't ever have to move again. BTW, I had to go back to the old house the next day with my baby in tow to get the painting. Was able to fit it in my car but had to leave a fancy lamp behind due to space restrictions.

I received a call from Cara, customer liason with ABT, on the morning of the move, informing me that the crew of 4 men was running considerably late due to a job the night before. Upon arriving, they introduced themselves and began a walk-through assessment then immediately began loading the trucks. Since most of the packing was already done, wrapping furniture, large mirrors, 2 flat-screen tv's and various paintings was left to the team. The scheduler had recommended purchasing boxes from Home Depot for the 2 tv's, adding that ABT's boxes cost $45.00 each! I purchased 4 boxes that were customized for flat-screen tv's and paintings; they cost less than half of the moving company's boxes! I was elated to think I would be able to save considerably. W[ell, after showing the movers the boxes, they chose not to use them, wrapping the items mentioned in plastic wrap and large cloth pieces, leaving the boxes I'd purchased behind in the empty house. Actually, one empty box was loaded onto one of the trucks and remains in my garage at the new house in Richmond. Having gotten such a late start, it was very late by the time the trucks were unloaded. Unfortunately, boxes that were clearly marked for inside were left in the garage and vice-versa. In all fairness to the crew members, they worked steadily and very hard. Considering the fact they may not have had time to rest sufficiently before getting to me, human nature seemingly dictated the carelessness evident as the night wore on. Regrettably, I have experienced this before, as I've moved many times during the past 17 years that I've lived in the Houston metro area.This latest experience is, by no means, the worst I've encountered. Thus, I've concluded that a single lady dealing with such moves without benefit of family/friends available to oversee or assist, more often than not, has to settle for less than the best offerings of most... Especially, a mature, physically-challenged senior.

The moving team arrived on time with all the proper equipment, paper work and quickly organized , planned the work and and began loading . I had four men and two trucks . They worked like clock work together with efficiency and careful attention to my furniture. They were pleasant and I enjoyed spending the day with them although they took no time to chit chat. They worked smartly and quickly. Their loading skills were precise and they were able to put a lot of stuff into small areas. I will use them again when I move to my new home. You can not go wrong with the company and team. They were a real bargain for the amount of work compared to price.

Overall it was a rather smooth move. The movers arrived close to an hour late. The rate was hourly and even though I purchased them lunch and brought them lunch home they wanted to charge me for the break they were taking for lunch but when I called the supervisor he said absolutely not. No major loss but little stuff like my brooms never made it to the new house. No damade to the walls or wood floors. They assembled the beds but did not take the TV out of the box. I did not notice it until they had left. I am sure if I had noticed and asked them to do it they would have done it.

It went well. They came a day early and packed up. On the day of pickup they showed on time and packed the truck, then went to a storage area and picked up more items. They arrived at the destination when they said and made sure everything was unloaded, furniture was in place, and all the beds set up. very happy.

Better Tripp Moving & Storage 3 guys showed up on time. They were very professional and courteous and listened to my instructions. They do a good job with the appliances and take precautions with putting blankets on and taping them up. There were a few times when I actually told them to not worry about putting blankets on furniture because it was taking a long time and we were trying to stay under the agreed time. Unfortunately we went over by about an hour. However, they communicated with us very well and we agreed on a hard stop. In the end we got everything moved even though I had to tell them to just put some of it in the Garage and we would handle it from there so that we could finish at the 1 hour over the original time. Really nice guys. Worked efficiently. I just did not realize I had so much stuff.

They came out to my house and did a walk around to give me an estimate. They said that they would have a proposal ready the following Monday and I have not heard anything back since and it has been over a week since they were to contact me.

I have moved many times and this was the best. So fast and very very experienced. Would use them again without hesitation. I love how all the employees have worked there a long time. It is just a great company. Great experience.

They were wonderful. They were in and out. The movers were polite, very professional. They were amazing. They were here on time. They moved it all and got it all put where we wanted it. They were just the top of the line. The guy that helped me was Alan Beaulieu; he put everything together and came out to give us the quote. I couldn’t say more about them.

We thought we should get the 2 furniture pieces crated for safe moving, but couldn't afford the prices quoted. The "rep" we dealt with said we would get the pieces covered in "6-ply paper", then cardboard. The padding we actually got, was a LOT better than that. The rep also said we'd be called to schedule the pick-up, but we were sent an email...and only learned that after waiting all day for the promised call. So, some poor communication, but great service by the driver and his helper. Great idea to have the same guys pick up the pieces here and deliver them across the country! The recipients said both pieces arrived in good condition. We'd use Better Tripp again, but try to get better communication from the rep and office here.
