Description of Work: Called for a bid at my home. Chuck Jr showed up on time for a bid. He was at my house less than 10 minutes and did not bring a sample window to show us. After a couple of other bids, I called the Lanham office to ask if they had sample windows. The secretary said they did and said, "oh?, Chuck didn't bring it with him to your house?". No. She said we could either schedule another visit or I could swing by the office to see their showroom. She told me their hours over the phone. Well, their office is about half an hour away, but I made the trip on my day off because I wanted to make a decision. I drove over there on a Friday or Saturday morning only to find their office closed. I tried calling the number on the door that says to schedule appointments and no one answered. So, Chuck came back out to the house a week or so later with the sample. His offer was middle-range compared to the other offers, but we chose Lanham because we liked the style of lock and the very positive Angie's List reviews. On May 24 we scheduled the installation for June 30, a Tuesday. We assumed all was well until 4pm Monday, June 29. Lanham called and said the window was not ready and they are not sure if it will be available for installation. They said they would call us the next morning. My husband took the day off work for the installation. The window was not ready. They said the next available date would be Thursday. So, I switch my hours around at work and work 3 12-hour shifts in a row to have off Thursday. Wednesday we call to check on the window. Noon on Wednesday they hadn't heard anything from the manufacturer yet. Wednesday afternoon they say that the manufacturer had again "rejected" the window. They say the calibration of the tempering machine is off due to being moved. They also say the large size of one of my windows makes it more difficult to temper the glass. (Also, our window was an average picture-window in a 1950's home. How is it that of all the business they do our window was so much larger or more difficult to temper the glass? Was all their large window clients on hold now? They never said so.) They say they would call me Thursday morning. At 830, another window has been rejected and Chuck Jr. said he would call me back that afternoon. I call him at 330pm. He said another window had been rejected around 1pm and he didn't wanna call with the bad news. He asked when the next time we could reschedule installation. I offered the following day, but since it was July 3 that wouldn't work for them due to the July 4 holiday. We would then have to wait an additional week. My husband and I felt aggravation throughout this whole process. We felt we had to chase them for our business. I voiced my frustration and asked if there was anything they could do to improve our experience with them. Chuck Jr. said in occurrences like this they give a gift card for a restaurant, but didn't specify details. He said if we want to back out then that's our choice and he understands. In the end, I lost trust that the window we would eventually receive would actually be quality since their machine was off. We didn't feel that our business was valued. We did get our deposit back, upon request.

Jackie who took my order was very easy to work with and scheduled the appointments and kept in touch so we knew exactly when the men were arriving.

Description of Work: I had a double pane bathroom window that had become cloudy over the years. Jackie went over several options with me. We had several phone calls and she was very patient in helping me decide. The window was installed today and we are very happy with it. They made the process very easy.

Description of Work: Replaced all window glass in my home. There was some minor miscommunication on the work that was to be done, but, that was straightened out quickly and the work was performed within my expectations.

Description of Work: The 2 installers were professional and very neat and respectful of my property. I spoke with the salesman by phone and explained what I wanted but I never saw a photo of the door he ordered. The door they installed had narrow windows and I was not happy with the doors. I called the company and complained and Mr. Lanham came to the house, calmed me down and the replaced the windows with full planes of glass. I am very happy the doors, the install, and prompt service.

Description of Work: Replaced 12 windows. The front picture window was 1 of the 12. We put in a large solid glass sandwiched between two single hungs, kind of like a sidelight. It was actually three windows ordered for that space but has a nice look and the two single hungs are functional. There were a couple of other large windows that would have required side by side single hung. We went with one slider instead. David and Jacob did a nice job. I would use them again.

Description of Work: I had four windows installed today but I had four windows installed over the summer. I have about 6 more windows left and will use Lanham again. Love my windows!

Description of Work: They came and replaced 7 windows that had lost their seal and footed up. I called set up an appointment for an estimate they called ahead arrived on time we did a walk through and I had an estimate. Window replacement went well, two windows did not fit properly so the installer had me call and set up another time to have the right sized windows reinstalled. A week later they were installed and I paid then. It has been almost 2 weeks and the new glass looks and insulates great.

Description of Work: I found Chuck Lanham and associates/work crew very customer friendly and responsive. Though I was willing to spend more money on replacement windows if necessary, Chuck provided a thorough explanation of the quality of their product and why spending more was not necessary (tell me how many times you might have heard THAT!!!). The crew was very punctual and the job took exactly as long as advertised. I highly recommend them and their product, especially in light of the fact the competition that spends lots of time and money via radio and tv advertising was pushy, overrated and too expensive!

Description of Work: I hired Lanham Window Company on two separate occasions to repair and replace panes of glass on a rental property I owned in another city. All correspondence was handled over the phone or by email and the person I dealt with (cannot remember their name) was very professional and courteous, and answered any questions I had. Since this was an out of town/vacant property the technician was given instructions to unlock/lock the property and did so with no problems. Since this service took place over a year ago I cannot recall the exact price. I'm sure both jobs combined were less than $1,000.00. I was/am very pleased with the work that was performed and have referred this company to several other homeowners in that neighborhood.

Description of Work: They replaced a window. I honestly thought they were super expensive and was not all that happy with the quality of the window. When I tried talking to the guy and even had him back out he said that was I was seeing in between panes was normal. To this day it bugs me and when the light hits it just right you can see the blur. It is a feature window in our home. I am in need of a few more gothic style solid pane windows and I have decided that although they came by me on a referral I would not use them again.

Description of Work: Meeting was pleasant and up beat. Presented bid on first visit. I checked out the company's ratings and thought they would be a good company to use for windows. Second visit.He took window measurements altered bid lower since one window was removed from consideration. He wrote up the contract in advance. So when the one window was dropped from the contract, he crossed out the early information and changed it to the correct cost. He and I talked about the contract being messy. He just pushed for the signature. When I asked more questions. He said this contract should only take 10 minutes and you have run over that time so I think we cannot do business. He pushed the contract to me for signature. I signed the contract. Then he insisted, we not do business. After he obtained my signature and no check and said I think we do not need to do business, then left quickly with the signed contract and would not give me a copy or void the contract. Representative refused to explain the contract when asked solid contractual questions. Did a contract correction by scratching out old prices and requiring initials beside each change rather than a contract rewrite.
