Description of Work: GroundScape gave me an "estimate" of $1650 to reset a section of my pave stone patio that had shifted. They were timely and did a really great job. The problem occurred when it was time to pay. The amount of time they spent at my house was roughly ten hours. There was very little material expenses on their end. I supplied the polymeric sand and the extra pavers. Well, he expected payment for the full amount of $1650. I stated that he had given me an "estimate" and did he really think that the work they did was worth $165/hour. He did. I now know that in the future I will check to see if the estimate given by a contractor is really an estimate, make sure the estimate indicates how many hours that think it will take to do the job.

Description of Work: Joe was very professional and responsive to my request for a consulation. He provided me with excellent advice as to my drainage problem and gave me a very reasonable and fair price for the work that needed to be done to my yard to prevent it from flooding my house again. However, even though I decided to go another direction I would consider using Joe's company for other projects in the future.

Description of Work: placed 100 sq ft patio using pavers 16 x 24 in.chosen by me. contractor informed area is flood plain. contractor should have used some kind of edging to stableize outer perimeter. compact material used but probably not enough nor deep enough. sand to fil joints. this is a good job for flat area but not for my space. I added 4 inch metal edging after contractor finished and of course added more sand. this retro fit works well enough. also contractor never provided a written estimate nor receipt. cash paid at end of day to workers and upon my insistence did count cash before departing. also insisted worker take my paper and pen and write a receipt.

+ 1 moreThe new patio extension is beautiful! I love the brick pattern and the color looks great with my existing patio paverstones. The contractor carefully prepared and finished this backyard area leaving a square cutout area for me to landscape around my big shade tree. This addition addresses a drainage problem and muddy eyesore that was the backyard. The finished product is a joy to behold and will be utilized as an entertainment area and play space for the kids. Joe, the project manager, was very helpful with his advice and expertise in planning the parameters of this project. He listened to our concerns about drainage and our desire to utilize the existing patio in place. This project fixed our drainage issues and exceeded our expectations to provide us with a wonderful addition to our home. The contractor's workers were polite and obviously skilled at their job. The job was done efficiently - on time, and at the price quoted during the estimate. I will recommend this company to others and will come to them for all my future landscaping/hardscaping needs.

+ 2 moreJoe and his crew did an amazing job! I could not be more pleased with their work. I only expected gravel down one side of the garage and did not expect the stepping stones which look so very nice. We also did not expect the drainage system that was installed from the existing gutter. The crew arrived on time each morning and worked until at least 6 p.m. both days. I would highly recommend Joe and GroundScape and plan to use them again next year for some additional landscaping in the front of the house.
Description of Work: Installed pave stones for two flower beds, installed metal edging down one side of a garage and added gravel and stepping stones leading to alley, installed drainage system with gravel and river rocks down the opposite side of the garage, installed stepping stones from patio to workshop door, and built two small areas, one for the grill and one for the trash cans, from bricks we supplied.
