Description of Work: Scott the owner does the work and I found him honset, responsive and practical as well as cost conscious. he correctly analyzed a problem with our AC unit another company had missed and the repair was 650 instead of 1350, as what had been estimated by other company was not actually needed. Like all smaller companies, they get overloaded on their schedule in the middle of the summere but I highly recommend Scott's company.

Description of Work: Rita answered the phone at Diamond and immediately made me feel like I was the only and most important customer she had ever spoken to....this continued throughout my relationship with Diamond. She made an immediate appointment each time, even during the hottest/ busiest season for them. Alan arrived and performed full service on my A/C, explaining any issues, needed components, and future service I might need.This cost me $150. We talked further and discussed insulation issues in my attic....almost nonexistent. For $975, my attic was filled with 18" of R-49 insulation one week later...again, prompt arrival and excellent service. I saved $40 on my electric bill in the first three weeks after installation. I am awaiting an even greater savings this month! I have recommended Diamond Services, as well as Rita and Alan, to anyone who listens. Thanks guys....it's been a much cooler, comfortable summer! ~Brian (Flower Mound)

Description of Work: I have used this company previously this year for AC repair and installation of attic insulation. They did a great job a ta reasonable price.On 8-2-12 I requested a service call. Scott came out and found the problem to be a dirty filter (hadn't changed it in 8 wks); he said there was no charge since he was in the neighborhood. What an honest guy. I insisted on paying him for his time. In this day and age there are so many folks overcharging and here is an honest AC guy.

Description of Work: Started working before I arrived home - do not know at what extent he did upstairs. Checked outside unit, indicated had too much freon but made no effort to recapture the excess. Was here about 30 minutes, maybe less. No more than 45 minutes.

This is the information provided for the members to read before they purchase the Big Deal. We tried to list everything that would be done so there would be no confusion. Refrigerant levels, compressor contactor, running and starting amps, capacitors and relays, condensate drains, evaporator coil, drain pan, plumbers hub, wire and safety devices, thermostat, vibration/noise, lubricate motors, ductwork conditions and filters. This process can take from 30 minutes to over an hour per system, depending on the condition of the unit. When we are booking an appointment for a member we require a phone number that we can call when we are on the way to the home.(this insures us someone will be at the home) If we don't get a response from our call, then a tecnician is not sent to the home. When we find a unit that is over-charged, we quote the members the additional cost it will be to recover the freon. Unlike adding freon, the process for recovery and disposal takes extra time. The only time we do not recover the freon, is when the member has declined the additional expense.

Description of Work: They checked three of myA/C units and added freon to one of the units that had a leak. One of the units was not blowing out cool air and he quickly identified the problem and fixed it. They fixed the problems quickly without any extra charges and fees and were punctual and professional. Would definately use them again

Description of Work: I was very disappointed that I had an early morning appointment. I took off work only to find out that they had to finish up a job from the night before and could not give me an estimate on when they would arrive. So, I recommended that they reschedule to later in the evening and the latest they could commit to was 4:30. After going in late, I then had to leave early only to have them arrive almost three hours later. Then he didn't reset my thermostat and I called two more times to ask have him come back to reset. No response and he did not leave a summary of what was done and things I should watch for that he mentioned verbally.

Description of Work: The capacitor was replaced as Alan said it was out of ?? We were going to have another return vent placed in the home but couldn't find a place to do it. Also we were going to have additional vents placed in the soffits and our old galvanized venting system for the HVAC replaced with flexible venting. My husband came home on Friday and said the capacitor was checked out and wasn't that off. It was an $8 part. He also didn't want them doing anymore work as we didn't get the thorough inspection for the tune-up. I asked several time if they were going to clean the outside unit but it never got done. My husband doesn't trust this company and feels they pad the bill.

Initially when we were about to arrive on the call we called ahead and the member informed us that she was going to be a little late because she had just been released from the hospital that morning and had forgotten about the appointment. This is completely understandable. While on the phone call we agreed to reroute her for a slightly later time that morning, while we were in the area, to give her time to get home and have a little breather before we stopped by. We also offered to reschedule for another day that might be more convenient for her while we were on the phone however, she said she just needed a little extra time to get home for the appointment and we said, no problem. On the initial ac tuneup up appointment we inspected both the attic unit and outside condenser. We found the run capacitor to the blower to be just out of tolerance. We informed the member of this, relayed the reading on the gauge to the members husband and informed it would be $98 dollars to replace while on the call. The members husband decided not to have us replace it at first so we put the old capacitor back on, replaced the doors to the unit after finishing the inspection on the attic unit. A few minutes later, while we were inspecting the outside unit the members husband re-engaged us about the capacitor and told us if his ac went out after we left and he didn't have the capacitor replaced he said that his wife would be very upset with him so, he said he would like for us to go ahead and replace the capacitor after all. We said no problem, confirmed price, re-entered the attic, disassembled the area again and went ahead and replaced it for him. We left the old capacitor with the homeowner and told him he could keep it as a backup if he would like too since it was just barely borderline and he was appreciative of that. Went back to finish the tuneup on the outside and found the system low on refrigerant. Since the tuneup includes up to two free pounds of refrigerant we were able to correct the refrigerant level at no additional charge to the homeowner. Afterwards we visited with the homeowner about a need for additional insulation and additional return air because they informed us that they were aware that their current system has some trouble keeping up on really hot days. We had a delightful conversation about possibilities and options to resolve the issues they had concerns about. We set up a return visit to install another return duct and on this visit there was an issue over the specific area to place the return as it was not going to be completely accessible so, the member wanted some time to consider a duct remodification and a possible change to their entire hvac system. We feel there may have been some breakdown in communication, however, we showed up on both appointments on time and we also understand that sometimes for some members that, plans change during a process. We hope the member understands we are always there to provide quality service under any circumstance. We don't understand how we received the B's or the C's and will continue to provide the very best service possible to each and every member we serve. Description of Work: Took advantage of A/C tune up special authorized through Angie's List. Because of rain/thunder, we had to reschedule 3 or 4 times. When they were finally able to come out the technicians were professional and personable. Normally, when I have had an A/C check done, the techs will tell me what's up and go ahead and clean the units and add freon/coolant if needed(fee for coolant of course). These guys just told me what was wrong and scheduled a return trip to do the cleaning, etc. So, I was somewhat disappointed that I didn't really get something for my original fee for the check-ups. There was quite a laundry list of things to be done but I elected to have only a couple done. While there one of the techs put his foot thru the ceiling & didn't tell anyone about it. I only saw it later. He was new and young and probably didn't know what to do but once he told the supervisor, I think it would have been better for the company to contact me rather than me pointing it out, embarrassing as it probably was. Anyway, they took care of it quickly with no charge to me. Overall, altho' I think t hey did a fine job, I'm not too sure I would use them again.
