Description of Work: I have always had a concern about having a good air conditioning company to service my home. After reviewing different companies, I came upon Diamond Quality Services. They are simply fantastic. They are my one and only provider for all air conditioning, air quality and insulation needs. Their prices are extremely reasonable. I have called them before thinking I had one problem and thinking I was going to have to shell out a lot of money to fix it. They came and told me that the problem was something else and it cost me close to nothing to fix it because their honesty is unmatched. I HIGHLY recommend them for all of your air conditioning needs (and other services they provide).

Description of Work: For the last 5 years I have had difficulty cooling my den and kitchen in peak summer heat . I was told by other providers that I needed a new unit . Scott Peterson came out and made my vent bigger , replaced a few non functioning parts and I did not have an issue all summer . I deliberately waited till late September to post this review in case I had any additional cooling problems . I have had no issues . Scott and his crew are straight forward , honest and easy to deal with on AC units . Moreover Scott knows what he is doing .

Description of Work: I called on Wednesday evening. When they got back to me the next day they couldnt schedule an appointment until Friday. On Friday morning it was drizzling and they called to say that they had to cancel because they don't work when it rains Incidentally, the rain stopped in an hour and it was clear the rest of the day. I told them that the unit was sheltered under an overhang, and they said they simply don't work in the rain. I asked if they could come on saturday instead, and they said not until Monday. I told them that we couldn't wait that long in the heat, and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I called another contractor who came right out. I never heard of an AC repair company that cancels when it rains and doesn't work on Saturdays.

Dear member, You initially contacted us wednesday evening after hours. Our receptionist contacted you early the following day and even though fully booked she scheduled a service call the next day Friday. Friday came and the thunderstorms in the area came with it. We will not service repair, electrical, in the rain and it was storming in your area, in your neighborhood, at your home, next to your covered patio, when our receptionist politely gave you a call asking to reschedule the repair for the following Monday. You got "angry" with our receptionist and told her you were calling someone else. Per our notes you have 2 AC systems cooling your home, your upstairs AC was cooling, you had some trouble with the downstairs, temperatures outside were cooler than average for July with the storms in the area, it was not an emergency and, you were not requesting emergency service. We understand you wanted to call someone else after you got angry and ended the call with our receptionist. One suggestion is you try to be more understanding with "your future HVAC company" in the event they are ever required to reschedule due to rain showers in your area again. A member of your family may never have to work in some of the conditions that we find ourselves in sometimes however, that is no reason to get so angry or have zero regard for someone trying to help you and or who is trying to work smart to serve again the following day. We service customers on weekends, emergency only, by appointment. You might have known this being a touch more pleasant to work with. A bigger picture we keep in mind is our associates have families of their own, like you do and, we respect them. Our associates are important, the jobs they do each day serving others is important and their families are important to us. At the same time, we do all within our power to serve all Angie's List members who have chosen Diamond Quality Services to be their provider for indoor home comfort needs and solutions. We are very focused on continuing to do so and it's unfortunate you became, so angry, that you decided to go with someone else because of a rain rescheduling. You might keep that in mind in the future. What we will not do is knowingly place a grave risk of electrical shock upon anyone for AC repair service in the rain. Doing so would not be the best decision on our part. We always try to make the best consideration for "everyone" anytime there are known conditions out of our control or when impromptu foul weather, we at times experience, in the DFW area moves through. Description of Work: Called them for routine check up on 3 units. Service Tech advised one unit low on freon. Replaced 5 units and questioned work done in the past on unit. We decided to have them conduct a leak test. A few days later another Tech came out to do test. Told us that there was "no leak but that some sort of bulb part" needed replacing. He said he had contacted the Trane Co. rep with questions and would get back to us. No contact, even after I left a msg. several days ago. Also, charged our credit card for leak test but did not present a bill or email a receipt. Still waiting for that phone call. Lack of follow up here and although the gentlemen who serviced units were very cordial and polite, I don't have any confidence in this company.

The member called us out for tune ups on 3 air conditioning systems. Our tech found one system was low on refrigerant. He added 2 lbs of refrigerant and ran out. He followed up the next morning and added 3 additional lbs. The pressures were okay. He then recommended a leak test to identify where the leak was located and to identify an oddity in the pressure subcool and superheat readings by an owner of the company. Scott found the subcool number to be okay but the superheat number was high. Scott called technical support on the readings. It was a replacement coil on a Trane 2 Speed System. On 2 speed systems coils cannot be just simply swapped for the cheapest available. Local technical support said the thermal expansion valve (txv) was not responding appropriately. Either the bulb on the valve was bad or the coil was an improper installation. The coil did not show as a good match for the 2 speed condenser. He said he would have to call the factory to confirm the coil would work. Scott waited 30 minutes for a response from tech support, but was told it would be later in the afternoon for an accurate response. Later that day Scott was told by tech support that the coil was okay, but was not sure if the txv was capable of meeting the demands of a 2 speed condenser. He said to call the 3rd party coil manufacturer to verify the txv was correct. Scott contacted the coil manufacturer and was told they were not sure if the txv would work on the 2 speed condenser, they would have to call the txv manufacturer. About an hour later the coil manufacturer confirmed that the txv would work on the 2 speed condenser. We DID NOT CHARGE the customer for a leak check or a diagnosis for this work. If the coil was the wrong coil then the original installer would be responsible to correct the issue. We were going to give the homeowner information on the corrective action the system needed. The system was functioning when we left, but not up to its best capacity. Scott did fail to update the customer on the technical data, and he apologized to the customer for this. He was willing to go out Saturday morning to install the txv and identify the leak. The member agreed to this, then later called back and decided that he/she would rather wait to make a decision.

Description of Work: I purchased 2 of these A/C tune-up Big Deals last year for my condo, which has 2 A/C units. I called to schedule service in October, and was told it was "too cold" to do the work, and I should call back in the spring when the weather warmed up, and they (Rita) would honor it. I called her today to schedule service, and she informed me they DO NOT work on condominium A/C units. They apparently do not have a ladder.

The review the member provided is extremely intriguing to us. Even though it is truly unfortunate on our part to have received, (as no service was performed or offered to this member because we do not service rooftop units), we'd like to take the opportunity and point out the lack of some pertinent information which may have been intentionally discarded by the member with respect to contacting our company. First, outside temperature must be at least 70 degrees for a true and accurate reading on refrigerant levels. The member contacted us for an (air conditioning tune up) in the fall. In October, our receptionist Rita would have encouraged the member to reschedule an ac tune up with us in the spring/early summer as temperatures are consistently over 70 degrees. By doing so this would enable us to provide complete value to our member/customer and for the member to receive a full and accurate, complete AC system tuneup. Unfortunately for the member we do not service rooftop units and when the member re-contacted us to schedule the AC tune up this information was divulged to our receptionist at that time. We do have ladders. We use them frequently in our line of business. However, as Rita was trying to explain to the member that we do not service rooftop units the member became agitated/angry with her. In the future, we hope this member will choose a straightforward approach when reviewing any other company on Angie's list, rather than sidestepping issues or being vaguely descriptive or furthermore eluding to hypotheticals, for the sake of all Angie's list members looking for accuracy. We do not service rooftop units but we thank you for contacting our company and for the opportunity to respond and clear this up for you.

Description of Work: I was surprised to see a company with over 300 reviews and a grade of "A", not able to work on our condo because we had a rooftop unit. I'm pretty sure this problem would have been solved with a ladder. Poor service.
