There were no on site services performed for this member because the members tenant did not show at the first appointment scheduled (during a time frame desired selected by the tenant) and because afterward the member decided he would not meet us to let us in to the rental property on a reschedule appointment we had offered to make/accommodate the member with. The rental property is located in east Dallas/Garland. We offered several times for the tenant earlier in the day, but the only time the tenant was available was a late afternoon appointment. It was communicated to the tenant that we would meet at the requested/desired time although being in east Dallas during rush hour is time consuming when heading back to Grapevine as we try and respect our technicians drive time and family time as much as possible. We made concessions to meet the tenant and the tenant knew this. One of the owners (Scott) personally spoke to the tenant and explained this. The tenant said he would be there as that was the normal time for him to be home. While in route to the scheduled appointment our technician called approximately 30 minutes in advance and even though no one answered or returned his call we made the decision to keep him in route to the members rental property because of the particular problem the members tenants were having with the AC system not cooling which was in September. After arriving on site at the members rental property in east Dallas our technician made multiple attempts to provide service but after driving an hour across town to east Dallas to get there at the agreed time our technician ultimately had to leave with no one coming to the door or answering his calls. Our technician went to the door twice and and a third time to leave his business card. Then left. We contacted the owner and notified him we would only go back if he was there to let us in. He agreed and then he decided at a later date that he did not want to meet us there, but he wanted us to meet the tenant. We declined. We understand the member received a refund from Angie's List because when the refund was granted to the member we received an email from Angie's list stating that the reason was because (no appointment given in time frame desired). Not accurate! What is completely true is that we accommodated the member tenants time frame desired at the original scheduled appointment. We arrived on time for the original scheduled appointment. We did all we could do before, during and after, to try and provide service to this member and tenant. The member did not reveal the no show in his review. The member in his review did not reveal that he told (Scott) that he did not want to meet us for a reschedule to let us in for services the member requested. We think it's critical to (all) members, as well to our own business and quality reputation that we indicate pertinent details that are known. Unless someone is willing to provide the facts that are known, at the very least should beg the question as to why conceal it? Or is there a hidden agenda? The information we provide is based on actual documentation be it detailed notes or other and we will always ascribe and share in instances such as this. If not then it could simply serve to imply that we do not care and most anyone then could make the assumption based on (the grade ccccc provided by the member) curtailing an explanation, that somehow we just dropped the ball or were flippant. As a company imparting quality to Angie's List members and to all our clients who receive service beyond expectation we have been clear that if we make a mistake (and we can) we stand up and take responsibility for our mistake and make it right. If we are unwilling to do that we are deluding ourselves as individuals and as a company would have been scratched from Angie's List years ago. Instead, we go forward.
