 + -1 moreThe phone system prompted me to leave voice mail but it did not allow me to do so. I clicked on the link to request an estimate and I filled out the form but when I submitted it I got a web page with a message saying the server had failed.
Description of Work: The company's voice mail did not work and the web site failed when I tried to schedule an estimate.

 + -1 moreSuch an awesome experience from the initial contact all the way through to the service appointment. Dallas Tree Surgeons sent an arborist to our home to examine the trees and provide information for the initial estimate. I received the very competitively priced quote within 24 hours and had the actual trimming occur less than 5 days later. The trimmed trees look amazing and healthy again and all of the branches were picked up and hauled away from the home. The best part? I didn't have to be there for the estimate visit or the actual service visit. I highly recommend their services!

 + -1 moreThey were friendly and courteous over the phone, but they did not come out when they said that they would. Also, we asked them to let us know when they were coming out because we wanted to be there, but they came out and did the work without us being there. They did not call us and let us know what had happened; we had to follow up with them. The work was good, but they just did not follow through with what they promised, which was to let us know when they were coming out to do the work and following up with us once it was finished. As far as the work goes, I would probably use them again, but would have to have them guarantee a date and time they plan to do the work or at least a call ahead when they were on their way.

 + 0 moreOMG. I was so impressed with the professionalism and skill of the 4-man crew; I was concerned that two men would try to do the job. It turned out that each had a special task. Max was the climber and he exhibited all the skill of a circus aerialist and sculptor as he remove branches cleanly with one hand. He was a true artist and technician. The technique was so smooth. Branches were tethered with heavy rope and lowered using a pulley system. Two men received large branches on the ground so that nothing touched the flower beds. One of the large limbs (25 feet) was over the house. The crew used the same techniques and care, but two men were up on the roof to make sure that no debris touched it. Afterward, the crew chief, Pedro. blew all the saw dust off the roof, drive, and paths; he also applied a preservative to the two severed limbs. This crew exceeded my expectations.
Description of Work: Removed two large limbs of a 28-year-old hackberry tree.

 + -1 moreNone of the trees have ever been trimmed before. I was very impressed with them. They know the trees. She said that she didn't want to trim it because of the weather. Most of the other companies would trim it and put the trees in distress. The trees that they trimmed looked great. That was two years ago. We're almost to the point to have them done again. The trees are almost 20 feet tall. It was a Pecan tree and a live Oak tree. Both of them have been here for 20 years. I felt comfortable with them. I got them on Angie's List. They cleaned everything up. We didn't know anything was there. They were on time.
Description of Work: Dallas Tree Surgeons sent a lady out and I told her the three trees that I've needed to be trimmed. They trimmed the two big trees that have never been trimmed before.

 + 1 moreDallas Tree Surgeons were the best quoted price we received and also had great reviews. Those were our two factors for choosing them. We were scheduled for a Monday but they ended up coming earlier on Friday which was great, but a call for a heads up would have been better. The guy I spoke with on the phone and gave me estimates was not the guy who came, so there was some confusion as to what was being done and some price differences. We got it figured out and they started the job. They were quick and experienced and did a nice job! The trees and bushes look great. There were some tiny clippings left which they said would get mulched up when our lawn service came but my husband thought the clean up was a little sloppy. We ended up getting quoted an extra $40 on the day of service because we misunderstood what hedges were being trimmed but when we got our bill they didn't charge us. We were very happy about the final bill being exactly what was quoted to us. We would use Dallas Tree Surgeons again and would refer them to others. They were very reasonably priced and did quality work.
Description of Work: Trimmed Live Oaks, Crepe Myrtles, hedges and three rose bushes. Hauled away clippings.

 + -1 moreI called and spoke with Amy and explained that I'd been searching for a male cultivar of a Ginkgo tree for my yard and had not had much luck. She offered to track one down for me and I agreed to have them plant the tree if she could source it. I ended up having to follow up with them once to keep things moving. On the agreed upon planting day the arborist got stuck in traffic and did not make it to the tree farm before they closed. This was inconvenient as I'd left work a couple hours early to meet up with him at my house. They offered to plant the tree on the weekend or at my convenience so that I would not have to take any more time off work. The arborist and his helper were attentive and friendly, and the planting job was done exactly to my specifications. I have a beautiful new Ginkgo with vibrant green spring foliage in my yard, which has been guaranteed to be a male. I guess I will update this review in approximately 20 years if it turns out to be a female tree. (In the fall mature female Ginkgos drop seeds with a fleshy coating that contains butyric acid, which smells like vomit or rancid butter and is thus less desirable as a shade tree.)

 + 0 moreThis is the second time we have used Dallas Tree Surgeons. They are so knowledgeable. We planted a Chinese Pistache and a Vitex. Lindsey, the arborist, came out and discussed where to plant the trees. The crew came on time on the date we requested, planted the trees, cleaned up every speck of dirt, and left us with two incredibly beautiful trees. I cannot wait to see them in bloom. We will only use Dallas Tree Surgeons for any of our landscaping needs.

 + -1 moreI am beyond pleased with Dallas Tree Surgeons. The price was very competitive and the cheapest I've heard of for a comparable service. I did not have to take off of work to be there to direct the crew and everything was done in a timely and professional matter. We will absolutely be using Dallas Tree Surgeons again.
Description of Work: After a bad ice storm, I requested that Dallas Tree Surgeons come out to look at a broken limb and to thin out the tree. We had just purchased the house, so I didn't even know what type of tree it was yet, much less how to properly care for it. They scheduled me for a few days out (they were heavily booked) but were able to move my appointment up. I did not have to be there, they just came by, looked at the tree and provided an estimate and treatment plan. The arborist, Amy, called and gave me a run-down on what she thought needed to be done (clean the broken limb and thin out the tree overall) and even gave me a report on what type of tree it was, the age and how she thought it needed to be cared for. She made sure I understood the plan on action on thinning out the tree; that it would be a thinning, like layering on a haircut, and that they wouldn't be shortening any limbs or changing the overall height of the tree. I was grateful for this because then I knew exactly what to expect. The tree was taken care of shortly after, and they did a REMARKABLE job. I didn't even realize that they work was done, until I looked at my curb out front and saw the massive amount of limbs they'd stacked. The tree looked great and the pile they put by the curb for bulk pick-up was VERY neatly stacked and did not obstruct the sidewalk or road at all. I did not find a single tree limb on the ground in my back yard, it was like they were never even there; they were tree surgeons ninjas!
