They quoted me about $300 or $400 and that was a little bit more than I was anticipating. The guy was clean and well dressed. He promptly got me a quote and he got here pretty quickly. I think the next day was when I set the appointment in. The price wasn't unreasonable. It was just a little bit more than I anticipated.

I must say that these guys have their sales pitch and marketing down pat. The look and act very professional and have professional looking vehicles. If that's what you're looking for no matter the price, then you'd be happy with this lot. The quote I received from them was nearly four times as large as good local electrician recommended to me by a builder I know. They also tried to sell me additional electrical services they claimed were wrong/dangerous and needed to be corrected, but according to the honest licensed electrician that I hired, they were not required or needed. On top of that, they tried selling me very high priced whole house surge protection which can be had for at least a third of what they were charging. I wouldn't trust these guys to provide me a decent quote to rewire my toaster.
Description of Work: Provided a quote to replace shorted power lines coming into the house from the meter.

We had a fantastic service from them.
Description of Work: We used Milestone Electric & Air. They did a lot of things. He had to put up a Victorian hanging lamp and he had to put in various pieces that cost more money. He came with a printed work book that has a price for everything for his company. He was here for hours and we had a lot of different electrical maintenance done.

Milestone installed a heating unit approximately five months ago. Subsequent to that service, I learned that my breaker panel was old and needed to be replaced. When we employed Milestone to replace the electrical outlets in our bathroom and master bedroom along with a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, we asked them to price the breaker box. They provided an invoice for replacing it with surge and lightening protection for $5,867. We have since employed Clements Electric to perform the work for 1,140.00. The only difference in the work to be performed is that Milestone asserted that the breaker box had to be moved from the inside of the house to the outside. Clements Electrical informed us that it did not have to moved to the outside, so we elected not to move it. Clements price for moving it would have been $1500.00. I also learned from Clements that they would have replaced the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors for $65.00 each. I paid Milestone $110.00 each. Milestone's pricing may be legal, but it's certainly not honorable. I intend to apprise all my neighbors via our neighborhood web site. If you need a copy of Milestone's invoice, I will be more than happy to provide it to you!

Found Milestone on Angie's List as a recommended electrician who could do electrical work in our new home after we closed on the house. We sent an email outlining, in detail, the work we need done (remove/install new light fixtures, install seven ceiling fans and install two dimmer switches). Milestone representative phoned us in response to our email within hours of it being sent. The representative was very pleasant and polite. He advised that Milestone only gives on-site estimates and that an appointment would have to be set. We had no problem with doing an on-site estimate vs. an emailed estimate. After agreeing to an on-site appointment the Milestone representative advised us that there would be an $69.00 charge for coming out to the house to give us an estimate. We questioned this charge and was told that they charge for their on-site estimates and only do on-site estimates. Since we have contacted two other Angie's List recommended electricians (who do not charge for estimates), we thanked him for his time and advised that we would not be using his company. We have no problem with a company charging for an estimate, but please put that information on your website or your on-line inquiry page. It also would have been nice to have the $69.00 estimate charge applied to the work being requested, if Milestone was selected to do the work. They do not apply the charge to any work preformed.
Description of Work: Responded to an email requesting a quote for electrical work to be done in our new home after we closed on the house.

They did both at the same time. It was a very big process to go through, which is why we had three weeks with no heat because they were trying to figure out how to do it. They were fabulous. I will also recommend them to anybody. They were very professional, very polite and very respectful. They really do have good stuff. The price was a lot higher than everybody else, but you get what you pay for. You might pay a little bit more but in the end it turns out to be exactly what you need. It was high, but it's understandable. I very easily got them whenever I needed them. They're bonded and very big. Before they even walk in the door they are on the porch putting their little booties on. They make sure your house is clean. They don't step anywhere they not supposed to step. They are very nice, very professional gentlemen.
Description of Work: They installed a new heater, but they couldn't certify it because the electrical hook-up in the attic was crap. We had a $4,000 heater installed and a $4,600 electrical job done.

Basically everything is now linked up to our cell phone, so the alarm system, the thermostat and the light can all be turned on and off from away. It's absolutely fabulous. It's almost a smart house, but not really. It's not that fancy, but it's just a neat little device that hooks everything together so that if we want to change the temperature when we're coming home we can. If we want to turn the light on and we know we're not going to be home before dark, we can. They are very high, but you're getting what you pay for. I will absolutely, hands down use them again and I would recommend them to whoever asks. It's all built into the alarm system and it's all done from the website that's actually an app.
Description of Work: They installed and upgraded the security system that we had in place. They gave us a thermostat that we could operate from our cell phones. They installed a direct link to the fire department smoke detector and they provided us with a light fixture that would also be activated by our cell phone.

I needed to obtain an AHRI certificate for my new AC unit so I could receive a rebate from my electric provider. The certificate I received from Milestone showed that a 14 SEER system was installed in my house. I went back through the paper work and it showed where it was bid and installed and that showed a 16 SEER system. I called Milestone and after they did some research, they realized that a mistake was made. They told me I purchased a 16 SEER system but only a 14 was installed. They offered me the difference in cash (check) or that they would make it right by replacing what I had in my house. I opted to have the equipment replaced because I really want the more efficient system and feel that I can more than make up the cost difference over time with the energy savings I will have for the next 15-20 years. Milestone admitted the error and is righting the problem. They never gave me a hard time or attempted to cover-up the error. They were truly a stand-up company about this error. Jay Thompson, one of the managers, was awesome to work with. He called me back when he said he would. That is unusual these days...
Description of Work: I had a new AC/Furnace system installed. They did a great job. I also had my house rezoned. I received a second estimate from a competitor. Although Milestone was a bit higher, their guarantees and intangibles made the price difference worth it.

The technician, Justin, was professional and friendly, but the price wasn't itemized, so I don't know what I'm paying for. It seems EXTREMELY high to pay almost $500 for this and the technician even noted that they're the Neiman Marcus of electrical industries. I paid the service fee $17 and he left. 4/10/15- I was refunded my service fee along with receiving an apology letter from the company. It was unexpected but appreciated. Upgrading their overall rating based on that. Still will not call them back out for service though.
Description of Work: Called to get a quote for replacing an exterior light fixture (that I bought) and replace nonworking doorbell (they would provide the part).

It was just one single workman. He was fine. I felt they were really overpriced for the work they did. They were extremely high. I wouldn’t use them again.

They are always dependable and they show up on time. They tell me ahead of time what the price is going to be. There are no surprises. They provide an annual safety inspection of the house. They change out the fire alarms, their batteries.

A young man came out to my house and immediately went to my box. All I wanted was for them to put a light switch put in; He told me I had copper wiring everywhere in my house. And he wanted to charge me $1200 to fix it. My son came over afterwards to tell me that was definitely not the case. They need to train their people better. Update 2/16/15: After submitting this review on Angie's List, the company contacted me and sent their quality control person out to take a look at the job. He looked at the place where I needed the fixture replaced. He apologized and said that the person they sent out before was incorrect. The previous service tech told us that we had all aluminun wiring in the house. The quality control manager and head of service department told us that this was not right. They refunded the trip fee from the first estimate, and gave me a credit for the entire amount of the original estimate to be used for future needs. We felt this was more than fair, and ended up being very happy with their service.
Description of Work: I wanted them to come out to put a light switch in my house.

The service was frustrating. It took a long time to find the problem. It was very difficult to make an appointment. The guy they sent out was suppose to be a master technician and he could not figure it out. He finally figured it out and two hours later he fixed the light switch.

They showed up very promptly. They treated me and my home with the type of respect you hoe for from service providers, but rarely receive. Two of the technicians were at my home for basically the entire day. One of the technicians pointed something out to me concerning my ducts and air return. I have had three other companies to do routine maintenance ver the past three years and none of them had mentioned this to me. Although I felt they were a little pricey for services performed (just based on what I have seen in ads, not based on comparable bids), I will not hesitate to use them again, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing electrical or HVAC services. I have intentionally left the amount at zero for personal and corporate privacy.
Description of Work: Cleaned all air ducts and hvac. Also added blown-in insulation.

The gentlemen that showed up at my house were courteous and professional. They arrived on time and completed the work as agreed. However the cost of their service was outrageously high - $495 for 22 minutes of work. Milestone did provide pricing once they reviewed the work to be completed and before they began the actual work. Had there not been a minimum service charge of $69 for just showing up, and had I been willing to schedule an appointment with another electrician, I would have not gone forward with the work once I knew the price. Unfortunately I can't recommend Milestone to others given their extremely high rates.
Description of Work: Installed a single GFCI exterior outlet directly on the opposite side of the wall from an interior outlet.

I think they do a very good job and the people they send out here have made some recommendations that I think were extremely good. They continue to work with a problem until they get it solved. Some of the workers are a little bit more skilled than others. The reason I say that is because we had a little doorbell problem and they had to send a more skilled worker to be able to deal with it.

Buyer beware is all I can say. The electrician was awesome, prompt, and quite knowledgeable. She suggested the service maintenance agreement as it looked like the AC capacitors had failed. She replaced our circuit breakers, which she said was not really needed but didnt charge us and installed a surge protector ( very $$) The agreement is not overly expensive, no service fees, no weekend service fees and they check your system a couple of times a year , repair any electrical issues and provide a back up to your home owners insurance should you have a major issue due to system failures. . SInce they seemed to be highly qualified we signed up. BIG mistake. The HVAC tech came out on a Sunday ( no charge) spent 5-10 minutes and told us the compressor was bad and we needed a replacement. Completely different result than the day before so we were a little suspicious. So we called 2 other companies to verify and indeed the condenser failed. The Milestone tech never entered the house nor checked the HVAC system in the attic. Verbally confirmed the next day that it would be anywhere from $3k-8k to replace. When asked for a written proposal, we received a jpeg of a hand written note sent to email. He missed we needed additional air intakes which the other companies spotted immediately. MIlestone's quote for new condenser and coil was 60% higher than their competitors. When informed of this, a second quote was sent reducing the cost by $1200. Still 35% higher. When we explained how unhappy we were with their service, we got the apologies another review has also received "this is not the way we do business" .. Apparently it is. We were upsold and taken on this maintenance agreement . If they are this highly priced over their competitors, then it doesnt make sense to hire them for ANY service. I am now fairly sure we over paid for the surge protector as well. We were told someone would call us about the issues and see what they could do about making us happy. Yep you guessed it. They never called. I would be VERY careful in dealing with them other than minimal service requests. Better yet, find a better company.
Description of Work: Replaced circuit breakers ( although we were told was not necessary) and installed surge protector. Determined AC unit was the issue . Signed us up for a service contract and had the HVAC team come out to firgure out issue.

I spoke with the Manager about my concerns. He explained and addressed each of my points of concern and each has been resolved. They certainly do value their name and reputation and I look forward to doing business with them in the future.
Description of Work: My wife and I were in the midst of moving into our new home and were covered up with things that needed to be done. We called Milestone Elect and explained we only needed a cord changed on our cloths dryer, a very simple job. Two electricians showed up, both very polite and professional. One spent the entire time trying to sell us their prepaid programs while the other did the work. Cost for 15 minutes of work $250.00. I will not be using them again nor recommend them in the future.
