They cover the whole Dallas/Fort Worth area. It was great. The electrician they sent out was such a friendly person. He answered all of my questions and even went out of his way to help with something else and didn't charge me extra. He was a great representative of their company. This young man was super. In the future I will use them again but ask for him.

Answering service was prompt and well informed. They explained their pricing structure up front and there were no surprize charges. The technician was polite and extremely knowlegable. He did the job efficently and quickly and explained everything. Their price structure while it might be a tad high (I have nothing to compare it too), is straight forward and already laid out so there shouldnt be surprize fees or add ons. Overall, I was very satisfied.
Description of Work: Ran an exterior line to the outside Air Conditioner unit because technicians with another company had shorted the wiring in the wall, while installing the unit.

The fans were installed. The brace I'd bought for the new fan installation wasn't used, the electrician used the brace he'd brought that cost me more. The entire installation was $1000.00. I couldn't believe the technician talked an 83 year old into installing 3 fans into existing locations and 1 into a location where there was a light for $1000. I will NEVER use Milestone Electric again since they consider this good business practice. How dare they take advantage of an older person. Plus, the inspection showed we needed a breaker and the technician did not replace it or make an appointment to come back to repalce it (which I woudn't have let happen if he had). Don't use Milestone Electric.
Description of Work: I called to have an estimate to install 3 ceiling fans where 3 were already installed and to install a new one where a light was installed. Rather than an estimate the service tech talked my 83 year old mom into doing the work, plus an electrical inspection.

Milestone appeared promptly and professionally on 6/3 to inspect my electrical in areas directed by me. Afterwards, we discussed their findings and designed a repair plan to be executed the next week. The next week, on schedule, Milestone fixed the issues and showed me the damage to the existing equipment. As they indicated last week, the panel replacement was not necessary. However, looking at the old panel, it's low quality showed, as did the signs of some melting and heat damage. It would have lasted a few more years, but it was on it's way out. The damaged power feed to the meter was another matter, and was dangerous already, as they suggested. The other repairs/installs were done quickly, and I was consulted on the best location for new outlets I was requesting in non-standard locations. The installation is clean and neat, the work is top quality. I put the price at a C because it is not the cheapest outfit in town. That being said, I selected them even knowing the price because they warrant their work and co-workers have been happy with Milestone's work. I would definately recommend Milestone, but just know that to get good work, you sometimes just have to pay a little more.

Made an appointment with company (between 2pm and 5pm) and took the afternoon off from work to wait for the electrician. Company called late and said that they were running behind and would not make it to the house until after 6pm. I would not recommend the company to anyone who values their time or works outside of the house.

It turned out to be an outlet that needed replaced. They said they didn't have a service charge but that they had a plan that started at the $270 range. I feel like this was very expensive and also that I was taken advantage of for being a senior citizen. They only gave me a receipt $173.00 because I gave him $100.00 in cash and paid for the rest on a credit card. I feel like I should have gotten a receipt for the $100 that I paid in cash.
Description of Work: I had them come out to check out an electrical issue I was having. He replaced and outlet and fixed another one.

Milestone quotes a price up front and then beings the work. The tech only tighten the wires. He did not replace any outlet. We paid the agreed price, but I think the price was high for the work done. A deal is a deal and Milestone did the work, and I would use them again, but I will be more careful in the future when I use them, because paying over $200.00 to tighten some wires is a bit much.
Description of Work: The problem was that electrical outlets were not working. The tech checked the outlets and found that the wiring in the outlets were loose. The tech tighten the wires.

It was a regular service call for which they charged us $45. The job went fine and I was impressed with them. I was pleased with them. They got here quickly and took care of the issue quickly. They were friendly and efficient as well. They were very clean too and I will use them again.

Len worked carefully among the expensive crystals while perched on a very high ladder. No breakage and nothing left to clean up after he finished. He gave good advice on the ceiling fan changeout and our son in law was able to do the work after we obtained the missing chandelier suspension parts.
Description of Work: Changed out light bulbs and cleaned large entryway chandelier located ten to twenty five feet high. Inspected bedroom ceiling fan to be replaced by another chandelier, but necessary parts were missing so he did not perform the replacement.

Checked the breaker box and everything seemed to be fine. Called Milestone out and they discovered a bad outlet in another room. Diagnosed and verified circuit, repaired outlet. Received $50 off for December discount as well as an Angie's List member discount. Tech also looked at my doorbell and helped with that as well. Very professional and on time. Would suggest the company have written quotes for certain services in order to give the customer a better idea of charges.
Description of Work: Master and Master Bath had no power.

Think twice before using this company.
Description of Work: I am a busy professional and not available to take off many days. I do know which days I do have off and which ones I don't. I had scheduled a service appointment for 11/23. Well apparently they put it in their system as 11/16, a week earlier. When I was sitting here waiting for them to arrive (missing work and losing money by the minute) I listened to old messages. They apparently had come the week before, no note left on the door. When I called on the 23rd they acted as if it were my fault and tried to reschedule. I've already missed one day waiting for them and will not waste another.

We hired Milestone Electric to hook up a replacement attic fan. When the electrician first arrived he wanted to see the breaker box. I was ok with that because I wanted to know which breaker controlled the attic fan. However, he first proceeded to take the cover off a bunch of wires, and when I started to brush away some dead hornets he then told me the wires were 'hot'. I have no idea why he wanted me to see that. Then he proceeded to try to convince me to hire him to replace the breakers and breaker box for a sum of nearly $5,000. He said he did several of those a week and it would take about 1/2 day. When I said I would discuss this with my husband, he tried to convince me that only he could describe to him why this needed to be done and kept trying to convince me to give him my husband's work number. I felt uncomfortable with this experience and will not hire Milestone again.

I took them up on their safety inspection. There was confusion between the schedulers and the technician about whether attics are included in the inspection. The tech was good natured and went in the attic as agreed. The tech found an open ground in the attic and re-connected it complimentary. He got a minor shock while doing it, but didn't question it (I did, turns out our stove is faulty) Other than that he did a good job. I authorized him to replace some buzzing breakers - I thought he was a bit high on price, but he was generous with his time, I OK'd it. He gave me a quote for a box replacement which was way high. Overall, I liked him and if you aren't cost sensitive go ahead. I however am a bit tighter trying to keep an old house standing so would call around a bit more.

The technician arrived on time and gave an estimate for the removal of the old fixture and installation of the box and new light fixture. Decided to get the work done at that time. After installing the new fixture, I asked about the possibility of adding extra lighting over the stove. The technician explained some options and the cost involved. I had the technician install the new junction box and he ran it to a separate switch so that it could be turned on/off by itself. The technician was knowledgeable and made suggestions for other possible lighting options in our kitchen. The price may have been a bit high but the work was done quickly and checked over several times.

They were absolutely wonderful. They worked with us, gave us suggestions on some things that we had not thought of and the put up with my husbands work sense of humor. They were really concerned with the safety in what we were having done. They have upfront pricing so there are no surprises with the price.
Description of Work: They did a total rewire of our house. They worked as a liaison with the local electrical service, Oncor, to resolve a safety issue. They were here 3 straight days from about 6:30am until about 6:30-8:00pm to get the work.

I explained that this was lite job when I called to get an estimate and they scheduled an appointment to come out. It would have been a good time for the scheduler to say that they had a $60 service call minimum, but she didn't mention that until I later I called back later and asked. The technician arrived on time and we discussed exactly what I wanted. He quoted me $350 for the job, estimating that it would take 1.5-2.0 hrs. ($175/hr -- nice work if you can get it.) After doing the used-car salesman routine of, "Let me check with my manager to see what we can do," they offered me a big $50 discount. I turned them down and ended up doing it myself that weekend -- it cost me $10 in materials and 3 hrs of my time that I would rather have spent doing something other than playing with electricity, but I saved the equivalent of a car payment (and gave myself a tip.) I didn't like the price quoted, nor the negotating tactic of a call to the "wizard behind the curtain," especially when they could have saved us all time and money by providing a rough estimate over the phone or stating that they effectively had a minimum job size that was higher than what I would have paid.
Description of Work: I needed to replace a couple of exterior light fixtures with outdoor boxes before installing low-voltage lighting.

I had GoGuard Security come to my home to activate the monitoring of my security system. They were great from the moment I called in! Whitnie was very helpful on the phone when it came time to schedule a consultation on what it would take to get my system up and running. She ran me through what to expect when the tech arrived at my home which was exactly what he did. When the technician came out he was on time and very professional; they even called me 30 minutes before his arrival to let me know he was 30 minutes away. Our technician was very seasoned and knowledgable on our system. The house is approx 13 years old so he was able to use the existing equipment. He however did explain to me the added benefit of going with a wireless monitoring system. I was not aware of this but it is a cellular device that controls the monitoring signal. The reason I went with this upgrade option was he showed me exactly where a burglar could cut my phone line and leave me unprotected. With this wireless system I know that I am always protected. Soon after Brett left the system was up and running and I felt that my home and family were protected. Whitnie then gave me a follow up call shortly after Brett's departure just to make sure everything was okay. They said customer service was their number 1 concern and that was very clearly seen.
Description of Work: I had Go Guard Security connect my existing equipment to a 24 hour monitoring system. They were able to add a wireless transmitter to send the monitoring signal to the necessary dispatch center...A big plus! I also had just replaced my back door and they were able to wire in a new contact at that door with no issues. Great service all the way through.

Called Milestone on Easter Sunday and scheduled a warranty visit. They came out and within 20 minutes had replaced the GFI plug, which had just worn out. Problem solved! My hot-tub time machine is back in business. No Charge for warranty service. Great job, guys!
Description of Work: Milestone installed an exterior GFI plug for my hot-tub on the deck back in 2008. Worked great, good service (see my 5/28/08 review). Uh oh! This weekend we refilled the tub after being drained all winter. No power to the plug! Yikes!

The work they have done has been good so far. We will use them again in a few months to complete some additional work for us. I would highly recommend them. They are highly imformative, professional, and prompt. They are fair in their pricing. They tell us what is wrong, why things went wrong, and what needs to be done. This is very helpful in determining what needs to be done for the renovations.

The problem is that they do a lot of recommending big repairs, and the expense is more than their competitors. They answer the phone readily, but you seldom speak to the same person, and one person never knows what the other person told you. They told me I needed to be home one day, so the city inspector from Highland Park could come, and that they (Milestone Electric) would not need to be there. I was home all day and no one came and no one could tell me what was going on. That is to say, they are fairly disorganized. Then, after spending more than $13,000 on the repairs, an entirely different person called to say there was a charge of $123.75 made in-between the other charges, and then sent me a letter saying I was in default for $123.75. Real organization and being able to deal with one consistent person would help this organization a lot.
Description of Work: Changed all of the outside electrical/fuse boxes. My call started as a broken can light in the kitchen. Once they surveyed the property, they told me my outside fuse boxes needed to be replaced. I knew they were performing a sort of "bait-and-switch", but I also knew my house is 30 years old, and that likely the boxes needed to be replaced.

I submitted a very negative review based on the fact that I was overcharged for some work done by Milestone. When a customer satisfaction call was made a day or two after the work was completed, I indicated that I felt ripped off. I was then told that a supervisor would receive my info and would most likely call me back. Two months later, I'd heard nothing and submitted a complaint on Angie's List. On the next business day (1/4/09), I received a call from Josh, who is a service manager. He noticed my rating on Angie's list for his company and wanted to make things right. He agreed that I was overcharged, which was bad enough...but it really bothered him that no one had called me back. He said he felt very "disgusted" that his company had dropped the ball somewhere and that I was never contacted. He offered me a full refund and offered to personally bring me the check that next morning before I left for work. I thought that was really nice, but sad that it took a major complaint on Angie's List to get anything done. Honestly, I felt that this was a blessing but was still unsure if I'd ever actually use this comapny in the future though. Oddly enough, my electricity went out just before he arrived. Of course this happened as I was finishing my shower, making things very difficult to say the least!! When he called to say he was there, he offered to leave the check under my door mat and even went out to my breaker box to check and be sure nothing was wrong there. I was frantically scrambling around inside trying to get dressed in the dark (not fun!) and wake up my two children and somehow get them ready by candlelight (I don't even own a flashlight and am a single mom...so buying a flashlight was waaaay down at the bottom of my list of priorites)!! He offered to bring me a flashlight and I told him I'd be fine and thanked him for everything...all by phone while he's outside (I'm still running around w/ soaking wet hair stressing out). A short time later, he called saying he'd gone to a gas station to get me a flashlight and that he'd bring it back by the house for me. This was definitely not something he had to do at all. The flashlight did make life easier for us this morning. My neighbors all appeared to have power, so he even offered to come back out later if he needed to get it fixed. Fortunately, it was a problem with TXU and they have corrected the situation. It's good to know there are still such great people in the world and I won't hesitate to call Milestone with any future electrical needs. It's refreshing to see people that are truly compassionate for others, even when it doesn't benefit them personally.
