Milestone Electric & Air

The price was reasonable. They were great. They were super professional, the price is great and they always follow up.

The tech showed up within an HOUR of my call and stayed until almost midnight in order to restore the power. I know they are priced well over market for this service and other electrical jobs but it is worth it for the professionalism and client dedication.

Their airconditioning tech told us that the unit the services our master bedoom was virtually beyond repair. He quoted us $6722 to "repair" the unit which of course would make no sense since it approaches the cost of a new unit. This bid included an estimate of $779 for a 4" filter conversion. More on that later. He quoted us a price of $17280 for an entire new system including compressor, furnace and coil. He also quoted us a price of $2444 to repair our other unit for a total of over $20000. Of course, at that price I told him that I would have to get other bids. The look on his face should have told me all I needed to know. I immediately started contacting other companies for quotes based on his written evaluation of our system. He said that the condensor was amping too high and that it would have to be replace, for example. We had 3 other companies come over and give us bids. The bids were variable based on the quality of the units etc. but none, I repeat none, them approached the quote that Milestone gave us. We finally settled on a company that quoted us a replacement cost of about $8000 for a nice SEER 18 two phase quality brand, all installed etc. This morning, another company arrived that I had forgotten I contacted by internet. I told him that we had one defunct unit and need substantial service on the other. He suggested that he take a look at both of the units. I told him Milestone had already done this. He said it never hurt to get a second opinion. He looked at the "dead" unit that we had completely turned off. It is a Trane unit and he is a Trane tech. He looked at it and said there was nothing really wrong with the unit. It needed a little freon and general service which he completed in about half an hour. We turned on the unit and presto it worked like a charm. He indicated that the coil probably had a small leak which would be exacerbated in the winter when hot air blows over the coils but that once charged in the summer would probably be fine all summer. I opted to replace the coil at the cost of $1500. Directly and absolutely contrary to what Milestone told us, he said that the new coil could be charged with R22 freon and then converted to R420 when and if we needed to replace the condensor. He also pointed out the this Trane unit was already designed to accept the 4" filter with a simple modification in the mounting hardware (a $779 charge according to Milestone to do a conversion). I pointed out to him that MIlestone said the condensor was amping too high. He just laughed and said there was nothing wrong with the amps being drawn by the condensor and showed me that it was completely in spec. He said that he could make it show any amperage he wanted if wanted to. He then serviced the other unit which he said was in very good condition. Total service cost: $144. He quoted me $1500 to replace the coil in the attic with a Trane unit with a 10 year warranty. He assured me that this coil could be converted to R410 when we replace the condensor but that the condensor could last another 5 or 10 or 15 years. I will never use Milestone again for anything. I only wish I could get back the $99 that I paid for their so called inspection service.

I got a different one every time they came out. The first guys who came, it would have been an A but the next couple of them that came; it would have been about a C. The price was pretty much in keeping with everybody else. The quality was fine.

It was performed to our expectations.

They are my heroes. They are an A class outfit. I bought this house and I paid for somebody to come out and do an inspection, and one of the things they found was that the electric cable coming from the pole to the house was spliced and laying on the roof, and every time I think about that, I was thinking, Thank God it did not rain or storm or anything before I got that fixed. They were just marvelous! They are due out here this afternoon because one of my smoke detectors is beeping. I will continue to use them.

BEWARE!!! This guy tried to tell us.. Every plug in your house should be replaced, every 20 years.. Seriously?! I guess they think women don't know any better. My roommate had called them. When I realized, they were the guys that wired my friends house, and fried everything in her house.. I said, " we can't use them." He asked where that was.. And said.. "When that house burned.." I stopped him there.. Her house didn't burn, but if another house did.. We definitely won't use them! His price was almost $3500. We had the work done for $1300. Major difference..

Milestone installed the security system, set up all the nuances with it. Showed us all how to use it. It was VERY understandable. We are confident that it works great.

My experience with them is excellent.

They told me that the job was like installing a ceiling fan. I couldn’t get him out of the house as he talked about everything and it took him about 3 hours to complete the job. The fixture does not look right and there is a gap between the fixture and the ceiling. He did not know how to cover it up properly.

I call and they respond. I've had them do several things and I like that they try to send the same professional which helps build a good working relationship. Byron B. is great at his trade, very professional and knowledgeable. The last visit he went above and beyond expectations and I totally appreciate that. I will continue to use Milestone for all my electrical needs and have and will continue to recommend them to everyone I know. Great Job!!!

Technician called to change the appointment time on the day of the appointment, which is awkward for me since I had to arrange to be home from work. Technician replace some of the batteries which I provided. Some furniture had to be moved for access, and he didn't return the furniture to it's prior place. Technician spent most of his time and energy trying to sell me an upgrade to the monitoring equipment.

It turned out that I had a breaker box that should have been replaced in the '80s due to house fire hazard. Milestone initially came to install a ceiling fan for me and did a check which identified the defective breaker box. They quoted me the price of the work with details of what would be performed. After checking around, I received similar quotes from other companies. I went with Milestone because of their knowledge, courtesy and desire to please the customer. No problems, and I will use them again.

The only thing is that they were a little pricey and other than that they were fine.

I just needed a light fixture installed over my dining room table. They couldn't even tell me how much it would cost over the phone. This is a very common and should be stock quote. I felt it was ridiculous to have to wait to see what my bill would be until their guy came out ( oh...and after automatic $65 trip charge ), to tell me what he thought the job would cost. That's just dumb. So...would I recommend Milestone Electric? No.

Very professional and polished operation. Estimate was 4x what I got from two other licensed master electricians. The city inspector laughed when I told him what milestone had quoted me. The electrician who did the work was so amused he asked for a copy of their estimate to show his wife. Although milestone repeatedly warned me that inferior electricians would give me a lower quote the electrician we eventually hired for 1/4 the price milestone quoted found and replaced a dangerous aluminum wire circuit milestone had missed. We also asked for quotes to rewire the whole house. Milestone quoted us a price of $30000. That is $23000 more than the next highest bid.

Our service tech, Don Pearse, was on time, extremely informative and efficent. We will definitely use Milestone and Don in the future.

I found them first through Angie's List. We've used the company ever since. We have the same representative who comes out to our house. Every time we need something done, it's the same guy. It was almost $100 a fan and the electrical work for the outlets. We can always ask for that same guy. He is an amazing provider because he knows our house and he knows us. He comes in and we can trust him. He is always extremely professional and very knowledgeable. If we ask his opinion on something else that we're trying to do, he will give us several options that we could choose from to the most cost-effective way to get it repaired or fixed.

Honestly, if all service providers were like Milestone, there would be no need for Angie's List. They're polite, friendly, punctual and caring. They text a photo of the person coming to do the work, constantly check in with you during the repair window to let you know the status of the technician and when he should arrive, THEN the tech calls you to let you know he's 15 minutes out. They also call after the work is completed to make sure everything is done to your satisfaction. We called the owner to thank him and tell him how nice the service technician was to us and our young son. We left a voice mail and thought that would be the end of it. A day later the owner called back to thank us for our business and for complimenting his staff. Milestone's prices are average, but their service level, concern for safety (the text photo) and friendliness are priceless. Too bad they can't take over a plumbing service as well!

Byron is the best! Very professional. He took care of all our needs. Very pricy but you don't want to skimp on electric. I feel very confident that everything is up to code and safe.

Roger was great. The office called and e-mailed the picture and credentials for Roger who showed up right on time. He was very helpful in answering all my questions and told me what he could do and what was the best approach. We will have them back out to re-do the lighting in our family room and install a couple of ceiling fans for us.

They gave us a bid and did good work. They came in on budget and we were happy with the service. They were helpful and knowledgable.

They were very good. They were on time and very thorough. They were very communicative and informed me about what they were doing. They didn't even stop for lunch. Everything is working fine. There was something I messed up out in the backyard and they came back helped me with that at a reasonable price.
