Chris Salinas provided a dedicated circuit from the circuit breaker box in the garage to two central heating units in the attic for whole house humidifiers. Chris found the best way to complete this task instead the easiest way for him. He listened to my expectations. He was very respectful of me and my home. He cleaned up after himself. He worked on my job without stopping to talk on the phone or text or read emails. He was very careful not to cause unnecessary damage to my floors and walls. He stated the price before starting and made no effort to increase the cost of the job. I was very impressed with Chris. I recommend him. I would not hesitate to call Milestone Electric and ask for Chris Salinas next time I need an electrician.

The attempted to up-sale what needed to be done. He presented the issue in frightening manner to the tenant and not the owner. As a result of which- the tenant moved out. The work that they did, the electrician that fixed the problem said it was good, however no the correct work.

Everything went well. From the begining the electricians took pictures of what they found in the attic to show us what needed to be done. They gave us an explaination of why things needed to be changed. Which jived with our research.
Description of Work: Milestone Electric grounded our house, boxed 16 electrical things that had not been previously boxed, replaced two bathroom fixtures, 1 ceiling fan, replaced every electrical outlet in the house, ( some had the original price sticker...69 cents!), replaced our 1964 electrical panel, removed old electrical stuff, replace a ceiling fixture, new smoke alarms. Oh yes, they took pictures of everything and showed them to us before giving us an estimate.

Wayne Worthen was the Milestone technician who came to our home with his helper, Matt. Wayne was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Wayne took the time to educate us on various options we had to solve the issues we were trying to address. The main issue was a hairdryer and curling iron causing the lights to blink in the master bath. Wayne looked into several options to put a 20 amp outlet into the master bath but there was no way to put in the outlet that wasn't labor intensive and therefore very costly. We finally decided on the second best solution which was to put the outlet in the guest bath. Our second issue was that we needed extra lighting in the front yard. We were thinking of landscape lighting and again Wayne walked us through all the options. Thinking of our budget we decided to go with an option we hadn't even thought of which was an LED recessed can light to replace our front porch light fixture. The LED light is much brighter and has a lifetime of approximately 20 years without replacing the bulb. Wayne was very friendly and great with his explanations and humor. He also noticed yellowing of our smoke detectors that were no doubt the originals from when the house was built in 1996. Milestone has excellent smoke, fire, heat and carbon monoxide detectors that he recommended to replace ours with. We were very glad that he made this recommendation because when Matt, his helper, began changing out the detectors some of them were not even hooked up. Overall I would highly recommend Wayne and Milestone Electric. Next time I need an electrician I am calling Milestone and requesting Wayne.
Description of Work: Milestone Electric added a 20 amp outlet in the guest bath with a GFCI plug, replaced our front porch light with an LED can light on the front porch, and replaced all of our smoke detectors with smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detectors.

I needed to have a breaker replaced following a home inspection and I was on a very tight deadline to get repairs done. Milestone Electric was great - they provided next-day service, notified me when the technician was on his way (he was early!) and got the work done quickly. It couldn't have gone any better. The technician called ahead and arrived early. He went the extra mile every chance he could. After presenting me with options, I chose what worked best for me and he was able to start and finish the job all on the same day. He was a consummate professional. The install and set up took almost 10 hours and he stayed late to complete the job. As a "preferred" customer, the service call was free, however the diagnosis was outrageous. My home was built in 1986 and suddenly, some of the outlets in my home were without power. The technician said that the entire breaker box needed to be replaced with an estimated cost of $4,000. I got a second opinion from Crippen Electric who came out immediately and determined that only 2 or 3 of the breakers needed to be replaced for a total cost of $197.00. If you get an astronomical quote, always get a 2nd opinion. I am so thankful for Angie's list!

Austin Geist was the technician who responded to my Arlington, TX home. He and his assistant Casey checked out the entire electrical system for the house, dealt with double-taps in the electrical box and installed a ground rod. They corrected multiple GFCI plugs that were not tripping and added additional, requested GFCI plugs. They installed 4 ceiling fans/lights and a chandelier, all from high ceilings, identified the source of ungrounded plugs and repaired the problem. They installed outdoor lighting. They also told me that some of the suggestions on my inspection report were not issues that needed to be addressed; for example, they found the hot-to cold ground that the inspector had failed to locate for the hot water heater. Austin and Casey were professional, courteous, and careful to explain each service. I was given a written estimate in advance. They did not leave until the work was completed to my satisfaction. The technicians were respectful of my home and left their work area clean, even hauling away packing boxes for the lights and fans I had purchased. I would definitely call them again for electrical needs. I understand that the work could probably have been done more cheaply by a handyman, but I wanted to be sure that it was done properly and to code by an appropriately licensed professional.

1. They cancelled the first appointment and made one for a week later. 2. They discussed with the RENTER what they thought just had to be done - telling him the house was in danger of burning down. They told the renters that the house needed to be rewired and a new panel installed with an estimate of between $6000.00 and $8000.00. 3. When my husband called the repairman and challenged him - the repairman said it did not have to be done , not a safety hazard. 4. They repaired the necessary wiring and our property manager replaced the ceiling fans. In my opinion this was extremely unprofessional and obviously the repairmen completely ignored the information he had been provided with on who he was to contact . He should have never talked with anyone other than the two names he was given.

Awful experience this time which wasn't the case the first time they were out. They wanted more to install a wall ceiling fan switch than it would cost to buy a completely new ceiling fan and have it installed with a wall switch. So we dropped that and had them just install a flood light outside, a patio electrical outlet and fix an electrical outlet in our living room. They started about noon and by about 4:30 in the afternoon had installed the flood light outside but were still trying to figure out how to fix the plug in the living room. By about 6:30 they gave up on the plug in the living room and started working on the patio plug. At 8:30 they said they were done so I went to see the flood light - it hung down right in view of the main window in the room so they had to move that which they did. I also noticed that the patio plug looked like an indoor plug so I asked and they informed me that it was an "indoor/outdoor" plug. Since all of my outdoor plugs are outdoor plugs I asked them to please change it. They did that, I paid them and they left. I went to go try out my new outdoor plug and found that it didn't work. I thought maybe the breaker needed to be reset and went to the breaker panel to check it and found it unscrewed and loose from the wall with the grounding wire disconnected. There were also wood shavings on the patio underneath where they put in the new plug - probably the least of the problems. I called and got the service manager who said he would send his QA technician out the next day (today) to look into it between 2 and 4pm. It's 4:30 and they just called to say they were 30-45 minutes out. Not sure what's up with them but this is one of the worst performances I've seen and probably a dangerous situation with the loose breaker panel.
Description of Work: Initially had a list of 7 or 8 things, add a flood light outside, put in a couple of electric outlets, install a few ceiling fan wall switches. Cut it back to 3 things after we saw the quote for the ceiling fan wall switches.

I liked what Milestone Electric did. They're a little expensive, the part cost about $300. The reason why I ended up using these people, I actually went through my local directory, my yellow pages and they were in there, it was milestone AC. I thought they might be associated and when the guy came out he said they were the same company, Milestone Air conditioning Security. They did the work, the guy was very nice and very friendly. The part was a little expensive but I have two units and last year, I had a different electric company come out and they put a start-up capacitor in the other unit, this year it was the other unit's turn to go back, I was not overly impressed with the company the year before so I chose not to call them back. I called Milestone, the guy did a good job, the part although it was expensive, he said it's warrantied for five years, any time in the next four years, eleven months, three weeks and six days or whatever, if it failed, they would come out and replaced it. He said it was expensive because I actually have several caps on it, they actually come out and they could hook it up to a different cap, it was like a multi-faceted start-up capacitor. He said that they wouldn't do that, if it failed they would just come out and would put in a new one. I give a thumbs up to Milestone Electric, I was very happy with what they did. I will use them again. I think the mark-up that these people do is a little high but I understand they have overhead but I'm retired and living on a retirement. I have hard time having empathy for these people saying, "we've got to mark it up two and a half times because we've got overhead", so do I, you don't see me getting to mark things up. They came when they were supposed to come, he was even a little earlier. They were prompt, professional and clean. He cleaned up after himself, explained what he was doing and what needed to be done but of course I already knew. I've been a handyman before I retired, I never did air conditioning work but I did a lot of things.

They came out twice. I spent $1300 with them the first time. I leased this house, but I wanted it to be safe. So I had lights put all the way around the house. I've come to find out that none of them work. They charged $80 a light bulb. I had them out the second time. I wasn't here, my mom was. Supposedly everything was fixed. I can't get up and check the light bulbs. But I got a guy come in to check the light bulbs one more time to see it's not with Milestone, to see if they're just blown or if there is something wrong again. The lights were installed in 2012. The lights stayed on maybe three or four weeks. Every other commercial is Milestone Electric. They had one of their top guys come out and look at the light bulbs. I am reading what the report said:, " replaced 6 bulbs on security lights and working -- do not warranty bulbs in future." And he made a sign off. "Pictures and other lights working good." Their customer service was really good. It was $400 to put up the light. I thought that was ridiculous. They came out there within two or three hours. They were right on time. They're going to have to come back out here and fix it one more time. Great people, were very responsive, but you'd like their work to last.

We've had them out several times for various jobs and they've always been on time, call before they show up, explain in detail everything they are doing and why. No pressure to buy their prepaid plans if you don't want to. All the tech's have been super nice. We've recommended them to my parents who had them replace their HVAC. They were also very pleased with their service and attention to detail. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: We contacted milestone after a lighting surge damaged our control panel and other items. They came out quickly, performed a full inspection of every electrical item in the house to provide details on the extent of the damage. We had them replace the panel, GFCI's, wired fire detectors and other items. They also installed a surge protector on the house.

Very well - they found several other problems that were fixed under fixed price of contract. The team working was very professional, punctual. They sent a QA person out to inspect all the work. There had been some confusion initially about what solution we were using to make the conversion but when we raised concerns, they addressed them openly and promptly. They are a high end, highly professional electricians and I would use them again for any serious electrical work. They are pricier than others but I think that is because 1) they are all electricians (unlike what you get when you go through a contractor) and 2) they price on a fixed price basis and take responsibility for unforeseen costs.
Description of Work: Aluminum wiring conversion at end points for every electrical outlet and light fixture in the house.

Description of Work: They came out while my husband was deployed. Half of my house had no electricity. The lady that made the appointment was very very sweet. She said she could get someone out to our place in 2 hours. They called when the repairman was on the way.. He got here and OMG, was the sweetest. He gave my boy a lay, let my boy watch him fix things and asked him all kinds of questions. I was so very impressed. The price to fix it was not too bad. About a year later the same thing happened and called them. They sent someone right out and it was my fault this time. I didnt remember to push the reset button. They didnt even charge for my stupid mistake.

My and I wife woke up to No Power, I went outside to see if what was tripped. I immediately noticed the master switch was tripped so I proceeded to untrip breaker. But I was not successful, I went back into the house to see all lights were out and called power company to see if we had an outage, but there was none. We researched different electricians to see who could come on a short notice since it was extremely cold and a winter storm was on the way. Milestone came out in the late afternoon to check panel and fuse. He quickly found out the master fuse could not be replaced due to 20 year old panel. We told him to give us a quote but we needed heat before the storm comes since we have two newly born twins. The technician called into the office and requested a discount to assist in paying for panel. The tech came out the nice day after we made arrangements to pay, not to mention the storm started that morning but he arrived on-time despite the icy roads and finished the job while it started to slight heavily. Moreover, the tech let us know the panel we had was extremely old and the parts for the equipment couldn't be found due to lawsuits to company that made the faulty electric panels. Job well done and they above and beyond to assist us.

First, the company representative was very errogant. Second, when he examined the breaker box he immediate exclaimed that he was surprised that "the house hasn't burned down by now". He said we were out of compliance, and he took cell phone pictures saying he would consult with his co-workers to see what they thought, and that he would get back with me. He thought we needed a new breaker box rewire and that it would probably cost $5 - $7 thousand dollars. We didn't hear back from him for weeks. The reason I called Milestone is that my usual electrician was busy and could not come over to diagnose the problem. Given that I never heard back from Milestone, I was able to retain the services of my regular electrician. He didn't think I need the entire breaker box replaced, but I asked him to do so just to be safe. His cost.....less than $3,000...and yes he is certified. His comment is that he has heard that Milestone will alway try to upsell you to a higher price..whether you need it or not. Now I believe it. By the way, I never did hear back from Milestone from the original visit and the promise they would get back to me. They advertise so much on TV, but don't be fooled.

When our old upstairs A/C unit died we hired Milestone to replace it. During installation they discovered that we had vents that didn't have ducts going to them (thanks to a remodeling project completed the year prior). We had plumbing issues that affected the A/C (who knew! learn something every day....) In other words, a complete mess awaited them. They spent hours and hours over several days getting us up and running again. Not everything worked perfectly at first so we got to know several of their technicians over a couple of weeks. These guys stayed late into the evening on a Saturday, late during the week, as long as it took to get the job done. Everyone, including the person answering the phones and setting the appointments, was so nice and helpful. Milestone does not take your business for granted. They earn it. We'd like to thank Mike S., Kevin, and the man of the hour Charlie who discovered Chewbacca in our pipes, for their hard work on a complicated job. There were some other guys here too but I didn't catch their names. They are all hard workers. This was our first experience with Milestone after years and years of using another A/C company. We are so happy we made the switch and will definitely call Milestone when our other unit dies (should be soon!).
Description of Work: Milestone installed a new air conditioner, furnace, coil, zone system and replaced all of our existing duct work.
