very happy with the work
Description of Work: I had attempted to do some electrical work this weekend. I messed it up and called Milestone. They were able to come with in 24 hours and fix my mistakes. They were very professional, punctual and informative. They also have a great deal on the Family Protection Plan... was pleasantly surprised and will use again.

Description of Work: This was a bad experience made MUCH MUCH BETTER!! Original Experience: (February 2013) I called them for an estimate on replacing an FP Breaker Panel in a house I was purchasing. Told they would enter the house between 8 and 10am. So, when I showed up at 12 to meet another appt, I thought they were long gone. Recieved a phone call at 1pm, as I was leaving. It was the service tech letting me know they just finished up in my house. Funny, cause I had just been there for an hour, and they weren't there. I looked across the street and noticed the work van sitting there. The dummy didn't notice that I was standing in my driveway staring at him, while he called me lying about having just entered my home. He proceeded to tell me about the horrendous state of the not just the FP Panel, but also the meter behind my home. He told me it was in very bad shape and I was responsible for paying to repair the meter box outside before they could do any work on the panel inside. Second funny thing, is that when I purchased the home, there was no meter. I had just called the city the week before to have them do an inspection of the meter box, and install a new meter. This was his second lie, obviously. Then came the quote, $4000 to replace one breaker panel!! That was 3-4 times more than all of the other quotes that I recieved! I wouldn't trust this company to do ANY work for me EVER!! NEW EXPERIENCE: (March 30, 2013) After posting my previous review, the owner of Milestone called me immediately the following day. He immediately took action and addressed the problem that I had with the technician that came out, apologized to me for the experience and offered to make the situation better if I would let them. I took the chance and let them, and I am glad I did!! If you call Milestone Electric, ask for Lacy Paul!! He is one of the most genuine people that I have met in a long time! He is honest and truly cares about the work he is doing. He went above and beyond his job to ensure everything was done right and that we were happy with it. If I ever need an electrician again, I would call Milestone and request Lacy. He replaced my FP panel on a Saturday. A four hour job turned into an eight hour job, but he never complained or stopped being polite. He stayed until we had asked all questions and were 100% satisfied. He even came back for the city inspection to make sure everything went well. The previous experience was not a good one, but Lacy proved to me that they are an honest company that cares about their customers and will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with the work they do.

Description of Work: I had called to have them come out and install a 110 outlet for a built in microwave I was planning to have installed. When they arrived they advised that my breaker box was no longer up to code and that they were not allowed in any way to do any electrical work in my home due to this. (My house was built in 1959 and they specifically asked me this when making the appt. several days earlier. It would have been nice if they had asked me to check my breaker box and see if they could do work on it before coming out here and charging me a service call regardless of whether they performed work or not.) They advised of all of the safety issues surrounding the outdated breaker box. My husband and I knew that we needed to replace the breaker box but quite frankly we didn't expect the cost to be $6000.00. Both gentleman were very professional and worked hard all day and completed the task. The professionalism was absolutely great...no complaints in that area. They are neat and tidy. My main complaint is price. I think this is very expensive and after reading more on Angie's list, I find it upsetting that I could have "negotiated" the price. I did ask the guys if there were any other price options and I was advised that the price is a fixed price and is the same for all customers...no negotiations. I should have refused to do it and perhaps could have gotten my price lowered like the other person stated...by $1500. The work appears to be quality but wow...price is high. We just moved here and I thought they were a good choice. Today my new wall oven and microwave arrived and the first thing the installers said is...you didn't use Milestone did you? We've heard many complaints on them and that they get customers to put in new breaker boxes at ridiculous prices. Hmm...that's not so comforting. Is this a gimmick?? I'm not sure if I'd use them again for large work or not. I'd definitely have to plan and shop around more. We just moved here and I thought I made a good choice but maybe not...it was REALLY expensive. I guess I feel like maybe I was taken advantage of and that's not a good feeling.

We used to try to be the cheapest, and it left us with unhappy customers, unhappy employees, and quality issues... So we decided we would rather apologize for price once, then poor quality, warranty issues, low quality material over and over. It is our experience that if you find another contractor that uses the same material, same scope of work, same warranty, and is licensed, insured, and a BBB member, our price is about the same. There is a difference in price between us and some of our competition that doesnt offer all those same things, but you arent getting the same service and peace of mind. It is my opinion that when it comes to electrical work like replacing a panel, which is something you will have done once in your life, its best to choose the absolute best. Nevertheless, we want you to feel good about your purchase, please contact us and we will figure it out with you, we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, no questions asked, we dont want one cent that you feel we didnt earn. Description of Work: I used Milestone Electric about three weeks ago. We had a bunch of things done like hanging light fixtures, fixing a switch that was getting old, and changing out a kitchen under-cabinet light. He also put in a whole house surge protector.

Description of Work: After the manafacturer of my dryer, which was on the fritz, said that it wasn't working b/c of an electrical issue with the house, we called Milestone. Turns out, there was no electrical issue w/ the house - it was indeed w/ the dryer. Milestone fixed the dryer and actually used higher quality parts than came with it.

Description of Work: Had 2 security lights installed for $578.00. That is approximately $289 per fixture. Just where do they get the exorbitant rates and figures. Isn't there a common rate for basic electrical work. I am not paying for your fancy ads or trucks or am I?? another bid for 6 can lights and 2 security lights was $1973.00, how crazy is that? That is $246.63 per fixture, and it take about one hour to hook uo the wiring to cans!! I did it myself in my other house, it is not worth your fees!!

Description of Work: I called for an estimate (to place an out let 5feet up from curretn spot) and they would not give me any info over the phone. They came out and gave me a price off a list that was like ordering off a menu... when I said I need to get other bids they said it would be $70 JUST FOR THE BID! And they wanted nearly $300 for the work. I ended up going w/ another company,(which only charged $135) but Milestone continued to call for almost two weeks wanting to schedule the work!
