My Dell desktop computer was getting slower and slower. It was hanging up frequently. James came out to fix it. He was on-time and got right to work. It turns out that one of the problems was that I had 2 virus programs running - one that I use and one that was installed on the computer by the manufacturer. When you have more than one they tend to fight each other. It was difficult for James to get the manufacturer installed ones removed, but he finally did. He also gave me hints on how to set up my email folders to speed up Outlook loading. I will definitely use him again.

My PC was possessed and had previously been worked on by other technicians, but there were still unresolved issues that they never seemed to be able to correct and viruses still roaming around the hard drive. James arrived promptly at the scheduled time and worked for 3 hours to thoroughly clean out the viruses, explained to me what had gone on and how he had corrected it. During his time working on my computer, he also made a few other changes that greatly increased the speed of my computer. He is the ultimate professional and if I ever need to have my computer worked on, he will be the one I call!

I am 225 miles away from her and she was having computer problems I find ridiculously easy to solve yet well-nigh impossible for her. It wasn't really cost-effective for me to have James come out but the advice he gave in response to my email inquiry WRT low-vision computer systems was first rate. That is what we're going with in the future so my mother won't have these kinds of problems again. Thank you James!

Mr. Duncan was able to work me in on the same day I called. He was running a bit behind so he called to let me know. He worked diligently until he corrected the problem.

A call was placed on the rainy morning of Nov. 4 2014, a window was available that afternoon, Mr. Duncan came over around 2:30 p.m., the window for the appointment was from 2 to 4 P.M. Mr. Duncan started work promptly upon arrival and did a great job in an hour or so. I would use this company should I again need computer service, we are very satisfied. Knowing how computers break down I am sure I will have to use the services of this establishment again.

My PC no longer recognized my external hard drive. I called to schedule an appointment for someone to come by and check it out for me and they were able to put me on the schedule for the same day. James called ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived, I explained the problem I was having with my external hard drive. Within minutes he advised me that my hard drive had crashed. He said he had software at home that he could try to run and see if he could recover my data, so he took the hard drive with him. Later that evening he called to inform me that his software could not read the disk. The only option I had was to send it off for data recovery. He came back to my home around 8:00pm to bring my hard drive back to me and gave me a few suggestions on where I could take it for recovery. James was very professional and explained everything in detail, which I appreciated because I have very basic computer knowledge. I never felt like he was talking down to me, like some computers techs do. He was very helpful and sympathetic to my issue. Once I get the issue of my hard drive resolved, I will definitely set-up another appointment for James to come back out and go through my computer for viruses, and clean-up.

James Duncan arrived at my home and started to work immediately after I explained the issue I was having with my pc. He found the virus and removed it and tuned up my computer. This is the second time I have had James remove viruses from my system and found both times he was very professional.

He told me before he took it in that he didn't know if he was going to be able to fix it. He told me that just to make sure that I was going to spend well the money, which of course now I wish I just did. I don't blame him for that. I thought he was just doing a good job.

Mr. Duncan arrived on time with his tool case in his hand. I explained the problems I was having with a file transfer between two computers and that I needed assistance in installing some older programs on a new PC. He immediately started the file transfer and during the transfer made changes in the new computer to make it more effective for me. He then installed some software and also showed me how to accomplish some things with Windows 8.1, the operating system on my new computer. Making an appointment was very easy; I called one day and the appointment was set up for the following day.

He is a subscriber in your little booklet and I used him occasionally in so I have for taken of once recommendation out of your catalog. I have used him a couple of times and he is great. He does a really good job, he showed up on time and he does what he asked him to do.

The search engine was successfully removed with about an hour's work and attention. I am pleased with the service and would call Geek on the Go for future such problems without hesitation.

Scheduled appt over phone. He arrived on time. He fixed it the first time. He explained in detail what was wrong and what he did to fix the problem. The charge was fair. All exactly what I was hoping for.

He was very informative. Apparently, an internet tech support service had me purchase Windows 7 Home Premium and charged me for it and online support when my tower is incompatible with the operating system and needs to be replaced. He suggested I try to get my money back from that provider and I am going to try to do that. Apparently the Windows setup advisor on the cd would have established the incompatibility if they would have gone through that process.

Mr. Duncan arrived on time and promptly installed a new router. I was very pleased with his professional manner. He has gained another satisfied customer.

While trying to load antivirus software, Jim identified a problem with the CD ROM drive. The CD ROM drive was completely non-functional. Although Jim could have simply loaded the antivirus software via a thumb drive, Jim chose to investigate other possible root causes for the CD ROM drive problem by looking at the Microsoft Windows 7 System Event Log. Jim identified large numbers of PCI bus errors in the event log. Jim interpreted these errors as the root cause of the Laptop performance problems. Based on Jim's observations, the customer determined to contact the laptop warranty provider about CD ROM problems and possible motherboard problems. Jim's decision to view the system event log (as opposed to simply running the antivirus software from the thumb drive) and correctly interpret the messages ultimately resulted in the appropriate laptop repair (CD ROM replacement and motherboard replacement) performed by the laptop warranty provider. Jim's performance and demeanor was completely professional. And, I plan to use him again when needed.

I called Mr. Duncan (based on Angie's List reviews) on a Saturday morning and he came to my house that afternoon. He replaced a part to fix the main problem, and then helped me with several other small issues while he was there. He preformed the tune-up (he has a coupon on Angie's List) without me asking. He was punctual, professional, and competent. I thought his fee was very fair, and I will definitely use him again.

for James P. Duncan owner of "Geek On The Go" James showed up on time and after an exhausted analysis detgermin ed that my Internet 11 problems were actually a bug in IE11. AS a solution he installed Google Chrome on my machine and made it an option for me to use. He also showed me how to use Chrome and imported all of my favorites from IE11 to Chrome. For my permissions problem he did extensive testing and determined that it was my anti virus program that was causing the problem. He then should me how to correct the problem. James also took the time to show me the tools in IE11, Google Chrome and my anti virus program . James did an execellent job for me at a good price. I will use his services in the future.

The tech James Duncan. I had lost my password, and he got me logged back in. He also worked ipad, imac, and an old Dell computer that I also had. He was there for about 2 hours and helped me out with each of these computers. He was very easy to work with and talk to. He knew his business. He showed up on time and was very professional.
